Background / History

Pakura was a renowned prodigy of Sunagakure's younger generation by age fifteen. During the clay-bird assault on Sunagakure, her older sister Yōi ordered her to reinforce Fūgyō despite Pakura's reluctance to leave Yōi exposed. Pakura protected civilians and shinobi along the route, then coordinated with Li Yao's Wind Style Clone to stop the attack. 250

Over the following year, Pakura became one of Sunagakure's most feared frontline fighters. Her Scorch Release neutralized Water Style techniques and made close combat lethal; she killed more than fifteen Kirigakure jōnin during that period. The Fourth Mizukage consequently sent the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist to assassinate her. 264

Pakura led Sand squads to rescue allied shinobi and fought the Seven Swordsmen directly. She killed numerous Mist ninja with Piercing Flash, melted the Needle-Stitching Sword, and held the seven opponents for nearly half an hour despite their coordinated attrition tactics. Exhausted and badly wounded, she was saved and healed by Li Yao's Wind Style Clone, who then killed the Seven Swordsmen. Pakura is a young Sunagakure kunoichi known for her striking presence and tight, revealing ninja attire. Her combat clothing leaves her back and arms exposed, while specially made leg guards offer limited protection during battle. 250 298 300

She is bold, competitive, and openly contemptuous of opponents she considers unworthy. She taunted the Seven Ninja Swordsmen even while surrounded, and her admiration for Li Yao's strength developed into a desire to surpass him. 252 265 268

Pakura is also pragmatic about war. Witnessing Li Yao's ruthless destruction of Kirigakure strongholds unsettled her, but she chose to remain at his side because she believed compassion toward enemy combatants would dishonor fallen Sand shinobi. 268 Her later acceptance of a ceasefire shows that her loyalty to Sunagakure can override her personal desire to defeat Orochimaru. 477
