Background / History

Tang Hao first appears in Nuoding City after Tang San is badly defeated by Xiao Xuan. Rather than punish Xiao Xuan, he confronts Yu Xiaogang and demands proof that Tang San's teacher is qualified to guide his son. He considers failure part of growth, but doubts Yu Xiaogang's ability to teach Tang San effectively. 26

Following Shrek Academy's defeat by Xiao Xuan, Tang Hao takes direct control of Tang San's cultivation. His severe half-year training rapidly raises the Shrek students to Soul Elder rank, while his continued guidance becomes centered on making them capable of defeating Xiao Xuan. 88 106

During the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament, Tang Hao intervenes after Tang San collapses against Xiao Xuan. He uses the Clear Sky Hammer as a feint against Spirit Hall to extract Tang San and the others from the battlefield, but Qian Daoliu and the consecrates severely wound him and sever one of his arms. 157 158

After recovering enough to resume leadership, Tang Hao trains Tang San, Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar in seclusion. He shares Clear Sky Sect cultivation methods, creates combat techniques suited to each student's Martial Soul, and ties their advancement to a broader anti-Spirit Hall strategy involving the Clear Sky Sect and Star Luo Empire. 177

Tang Hao later discovers Tang Chen's grave in the ruins surrounding Slaughter City. Distressed by the discovery, he has Tang San prepare a coffin and changes his plans: Tang San is sent to the Clear Sky Sect while Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun are ordered back to Star Luo. 185 186

After Tang San fails to inherit the Sea God's position, Tang Hao concludes that Yu Xiaogang's teaching has failed his son. His Killing God Domain begins evolving through recurring trances and divine inspiration, eventually revealing the Asura God's selection of Tang Hao as its spokesperson. Divine power restores his arm, heals his injuries, and greatly strengthens him. 218 234

Tang Hao returns to the Clear Sky Sect, overwhelms its internal opposition, and brings the sect into Star Luo's war effort. By the final phase of the war, he is the empire's foremost combatant and openly confronts Spirit Empire forces. 238 239 260

To force a breakthrough, Tang Hao allows the Asura Domain to draw on the blood and Soul Power of the Star Luo battlefield. He reaches Limit Douluo and attacks the Spirit Empire's Guardians, but Xiao Xuan weakens his divine power, traps him through a copied inverse form of the Great Sumeru Hammer, and creates openings for the Guardians' coordinated assault. Tang Hao is ultimately killed after the Asura God's intervention fails to stop Xiao Xuan's final strike. 291 297

Appearance

Tang Hao's overwhelming presence sharply contrasts with his neglected appearance. Even when displaying the power of the Clear Sky Douluo, he is repeatedly described as ragged and disheveled. 157

  • Tattered, worn clothing; can be mistaken for a beggar at a glance. 157
  • Projects immense, domineering Soul Power despite his unkempt state. 157
  • Appears covered in blood and barely conscious after escaping Spirit Hall with Tang San. 158
  • Loses an arm during his escape from the tournament conflict. 157 207
  • Regrows the lost arm after receiving Asura Divine Power. 234 239

Personality

Tang Hao is intensely protective of Tang San. His early confrontation with Yu Xiaogang is driven not by resentment over Tang San's defeat, but by concern that Tang San is being inadequately taught. When Tang San is endangered, however, Tang Hao reacts immediately and violently, as seen when he abandons his aerial battle to try to intercept Xiao Xuan's attack. 26 267

As a mentor, he is demanding, blunt, and results-oriented. He imposes grueling physical standards, expects Tang San to complete eighty-one ordered hammer strikes against a waterfall, and provides the Shrek students with techniques tailored to their Martial Souls. 177

Tang Hao is also pragmatic and capable of deception in combat. At Spirit Hall, he recognizes that he cannot defeat the gathered enemy forces directly, so he uses the Haotian Avatar as a diversion to rescue Tang San. 157 After accepting the Asura God's power, his pursuit of revenge becomes increasingly ruthless; he accepts mass battlefield casualties as the price of defeating the Spirit Empire. 291 292

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao's Martial Soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, a weapon-type Martial Soul associated with extreme force and crushing power.

  • Wields the hammer as a Titled Douluo with nine soul rings. 157
  • Uses overwhelming raw force to suppress and injure Titled Douluo opponents. 239
  • His hammer remains powerful enough at Limit Douluo rank to force several Guardians to combine their strength to block a single blow. 292
  • Its emphasis on direct force contributes to his predictable, head-on fighting style, which Xiao Xuan exploits. 294 296

Haotian Avatar

Tang Hao can manifest a massive Clear Sky Hammer avatar through his seventh soul skill.

  • The avatar expands beyond one hundred meters and can confront multiple high-level attacks at once. 157
  • He uses it as part of his escape feint, redirecting its destructive force toward the Pope's Palace to divide Spirit Hall's attention. 157
  • The exertion leaves him requiring a lengthy recovery period. 157

Great Sumeru Hammer and Ring Detonation

Tang Hao employs the Clear Sky Sect's secret hammer technique, using detonated soul rings to amplify his attacks.

  • Can shatter soul rings and absorb their power into the Clear Sky Hammer. 292
  • Uses Ring Detonation to increase speed and striking force while targeting Xiao Xuan. 292 295
  • Is more proficient with the technique than Tang Xiao. 292
  • Detonating two rings fails to break Xiao Xuan's restraint and leaves Tang Hao trapped in a disadvantageous position. 294 296
  • Xiao Xuan copies and inversely transforms the technique into soft, light power that neutralizes Tang Hao's heavy attacks. 295

Killing God Domain and Asura Domain

Tang Hao possesses the Killing God Domain from clearing Hell Road; after being selected by the Asura God, it evolves into an incomplete variant of the Asura Domain. 218 291

  • The evolved domain is connected to slaughter, Blood Qi, and the conversion of battlefield energy into Tang Hao's strength. 291
  • It is used to fuel his breakthrough from Level 97 to Limit Douluo. 291 292
  • The Asura Domain is weakened by Xiao Xuan's higher-level Illusion God Domain. 292
  • Its use carries an enormous human cost, as Star Luo soldiers' blood and Soul Power are used to sustain Tang Hao's advancement. 291

Asura Divine Power

As the Asura God's spokesperson, Tang Hao receives divine power rather than a confirmed inheritance.

  • Restores his severed arm and heals old injuries. 234 239
  • Enhances his cultivation beyond his previous peak. 218 233
  • Allows him to break free of Ghost Chrysanthemum Douluo's Martial Soul Fusion Skill. 239
  • Protects him from fatal pressure during the battle with Xiao Xuan and the Guardians, but cannot ultimately prevent his death. 293 297

Cultivation and Combat Instruction

Tang Hao personally trains Tang San and members of Shrek Academy.

  • Takes control of Tang San's cultivation after criticizing Yu Xiaogang's teaching. 88
  • Leads the Shrek students through high-intensity training that raises them to Soul Elder rank within half a year. 106
  • Shares Clear Sky Sect cultivation methods in seclusion. 177
  • Develops individual offensive techniques tailored to Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar. 177
  • Teaches Tang San the Chaotic Wind Hammer Technique and demands eighty-one uninterrupted waterfall strikes. 177
