Background

Zhou Qi was born into a large rural Zhou clan. His extended family had few university graduates but a strong tradition of military service; he himself would have been sent to enlist had he not entered high school. His mother, Sun Yanping, remained a key link between him and the wider family network. 9

He graduated from Jinmen University of Technology in 2014 and began writing novels that same year. His research for those stories led him into biology, later complementing his technical education and cross-world ventures. 256
