Background and History

Rao Mingxian was Zhou Leng’s middle-school classmate and the grandson of Rao Fuxing, principal of No. 59 Middle School. Once considered an unremarkable student, he was beaten and humiliated by his grandfather. His martial results improved sharply in his second year of high school, and he entered Ru University, where he ranked third in one assessment. A later investigation concluded that Rao Fuxing had used a Demon-Infusion Array to take power from Class Three and transfer it to Rao Mingxian 80 332.

During the Heavenly Stair Joint Examination, Rao survived alongside Zhou Leng and thanked him for saving his life. The trials strengthened Rao’s martial ability and helped him mature. He subsequently became one of Ru University’s leading freshmen, reaching nineteenth place in the Ru City freshman ranking 86 93 114 123 171.

The Ancient River Trial placed Rao between Zhou and his family. Rao Mingxing sought information about Zhou after losing a coveted New Youth quota; Rao passed along incomplete information while withholding more important details. Rao Mingjun later used knowledge of the No. 59 Middle School affair to pressure him. When Rao learned that the family’s main branch had long been involved with the Demon-Worshiping Cult, he poisoned and killed Mingjun and their team rather than betray Zhou 258 297 306 307.

After the Huangmeng Sect killed most of the Rao family’s leadership, Rao became its acting head and joined Madam Xi Yan’s Fishman Cult faction. He sought revenge against Zhang Xiaoxiao, who had helped carry out the killings, while continuing to protect Zhou in secret. He warned Zhou of a pursuit even though discovery could have cost him his life 353 399 408.

Appearance

Rao’s physique becomes visibly more muscular as he cultivates; Zhou Leng notes that he has grown taller and developed broader shoulders 298.

Personality

Rao is socially adept and practical about distributing rewards. When assembling a Demon City team, he reserves competition for the most valuable prize for its strongest members while accommodating Zhou Leng and Molten Hammer 87.

His caution is shaped by years of abuse and by pressure from the Rao family. He regrets turning down dangerous opportunities Zhou offered him, yet repeatedly tries to manage conflict through concealment rather than confrontation. Even after joining the Demon-Worshiping Cult, he insists that Zhou is the one person he refuses to wrong 228 229 297 408.
