Background / History

Holy Maiden and Rakshasa Inheritance

Bibi Dong was Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden and Qian Xunji’s disciple. She fell in love with Yu Xiaogang and intended to elope with him. Qian Xunji sexually assaulted her in a secret chamber; the hatred arising from that experience led her to receive the Rakshasa God’s inheritance. She later killed him while he was seriously injured 356.

Qian Renxue was born from Qian Xunji’s assault. Bibi Dong transferred her hatred of him onto their daughter and sent Qian Renxue to infiltrate the Heaven Dou Empire after his death. She later questioned how much of her rejection came from trauma, hostility toward Qian Renxue’s sacred aura, or the Rule of Power influencing her thoughts 338 356.

Recruiting an Asura Inheritor

Her Sixth Exam made recruiting an Asura God inheritor a divine requirement. She investigated the Shrek Battle Team and the unusually successful Blue Silver Grass soul master competing at Suotuo Grand Spirit Arena. Zhao Zilong’s missing early history became another focus of her intelligence gathering 57 78.

At the tournament finals, she identified Tang San and Zhao Zilong as the two inheritors. Tang San refused her invitation to Spirit Hall, while Zhao Zilong accepted discipleship on the condition that it remain secret until the tournament ended. The exam registered only partial success, prompting her to cultivate him while seeking to weaken his connections to rival factions 156 159.

Her investment included personal combat training and covert protection by Elder Ju and Elder Gui. She also escorted Zhao Zilong and Hu Liena to the City of Slaughter. When Tang Hao ambushed Zhao Zilong there, she intervened, pursued him, and stationed Spirit Hall personnel at the entrances to prevent another intrusion 188 205 211 221.

Soul Hunting Operation

Bibi Dong planned the Soul Hunting Operation to eliminate forces opposing Spirit Hall. She assigned Zhao Zilong and eight elders to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect while personally leading the attack on the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan 257.

She defeated Yu Yuanzhen, drained his life and power with the Rakshasa Demon Scythe, and ordered the clan’s valuables seized and its remaining property burned. She rewarded allied sect masters with soul bones and announced plans to replace the Upper Three Sects 269.

Her first expedition against the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python ended in retreat after Tang Hao’s intervention, Ghost Douluo’s death, and Xiao Wu’s sacrifice. On returning with demigod-level strength, she killed both beasts and absorbed their rings to complete her second martial soul’s nine-ring configuration 237 239 277 278.

Zhao Zilong and Personal Reassessment

Bibi Dong initially remained emotionally vulnerable to Yu Xiaogang, even giving him information intended to benefit Tang San. Recognizing her own irrational behavior, she began investigating whether divine interference had distorted her attachment. She eventually refused to strengthen Spirit Hall’s enemies for his sake 318 319 338 340.

Seeking to keep Zhao Zilong from leaving, she sexually assaulted him while suppressing his Soul Power. She subsequently disclosed her own abuse by Qian Xunji and bound their lives together through a Rakshasa curse. Their later relationship produced their daughter, Purple Crystal 356 372 373 515.

Zhao Zilong’s manuscript, Douluo Continent, showed her a future in which Tang San killed her and Spirit Hall fell. He explained that his arrival from another world had changed that future. After reading it, she approved an attack on the Clear Sky Sect, which Spirit Hall subsequently destroyed 359 364 372.

The manuscript also prompted a broader reassessment. Bibi Dong admitted that her hatred had once made her want to destroy Spirit Hall, the Angel Clan, and the world itself. She began relinquishing her obsession with Yu Xiaogang, treating Qian Renxue more gently, and prioritizing internal reform before founding an empire 372 374 382.

Spirit Hall Empire

Bibi Dong scheduled the empire’s founding ceremony for October 1st and planned to consolidate smaller kingdoms and duchies before confronting the two great empires. Her preference for Zhao Zilong as a successor brought her into conflict with Qian Daoliu and the Worship Hall, who favored Qian Renxue 441 443.

As empress, she led the war against Star Luo. She defeated Dai Yanlong and Zhu Lingyun’s Hell White Tiger fusion, then confronted Tang Chen. His Slaughter Domain neutralized her domains’ enhancement and prevented nearby combatants from using soul skills. She later joined Qian Daoliu against him 477 478 488.

After Star Luo’s defeat, she proclaimed that the continent would have only the Spirit Hall Empire. Hu Liena then ordered the execution of captured imperial family members and loyalists who refused to surrender 499.

Godhood and the Parallel World

Bibi Dong completed the Rakshasa inheritance with Zhao Zilong’s help. Unlike her parallel counterpart, she accepted the Rakshasa God’s bright side, producing a different divine form and purple rather than sickly green divine power 529 535.

She then accompanied Zhao Zilong and Qian Renxue into a parallel space-time at Jialing Pass. There, another Bibi Dong had been gravely wounded while shielding her daughter from Tang San. The visiting Bibi Dong improved her counterpart’s condition but could not remove the Asura god power eroding her body 530.

Afterward, she asked Zhao Zilong to remove the Rule of Power from her counterpart so that the other woman would no longer remain attached to Yu Xiaogang 535.

Restarted Timeline

In the side story, Qian Renxue’s Time Reversal returned Bibi Dong to the day she had originally intended to kill Qian Xunji. She retained her memories because she had become a god. This time, she did not kill him; he later died from his worsening injuries, and Qian Daoliu appointed her Pope again 536 539.

Mother and daughter established a genuinely affectionate relationship. Qian Renxue demanded exclusive romantic rights to Zhao Zilong, while Bibi Dong requested that Purple Crystal still be allowed to be born. They also used their foreknowledge against Tang Hao and Xiao Wu, killing Tang Hao and obtaining Xiao Wu’s hundred-thousand-year ring 537 539 540 541.

Bibi Dong eventually relinquished the papacy to Qian Renxue and became Spirit Hall’s Adjudication Elder 552.

• Original appearance: A beautiful, noble-looking woman with long purple hair and an imposing papal bearing 158 276.
• Death Spider Emperor transformation: Purple-black armor covers her upper body and mouth; four smaller eyes appear beneath her own. Her lower body becomes a large spider abdomen supported by eight powerful legs covered in green hair and corrosive slime 205.

Bibi Dong is proud, politically calculating, and intolerant of challenges to her authority. She treats promises as unreliable tools of politics, seeks to make talented recruits dependent on Spirit Hall, and resents the Worship Hall’s independence from her command 159 188 361 362.

Her ambition combines imperial power with a stated desire to abolish noble privilege, slavery, and oppression. She privately recognizes that presenting her ambitions as a just cause helps win public support. Her methods remain ruthless: she orders sect exterminations and tells Zhao Zilong to recruit Dugu Bo or kill him 269 273.

Her personal attachments expose vulnerabilities absent from her public demeanor. Yu Xiaogang’s attention temporarily undermines her judgment, while fear of losing Zhao Zilong drives coercive efforts to keep him beside her. Later, motherhood, awareness of divine manipulation, and knowledge of her possible future lead her to acknowledge past wrongdoing and attempt reconciliation with Qian Renxue 318 319 356 372 373 374.
