Voldemort had previously reached an agreement with the Dementors and had them leave Azkaban.

Dumbledore was far-sighted and would certainly guard against Voldemort recruiting other magical creatures.

Hagrid happened to have giant blood, making him undoubtedly the most suitable person to negotiate with the giants.

Harry quickly calmed down. "Hagrid, Voldemort is at Malfoy Manor."

"What did you say?" Hagrid's voice was especially loud, and the Dragon Meat in his hand fell straight to the floor.

"Harry, are you saying You-Know-Who... is at Malfoy Manor?"

Harry nodded silently.

Hagrid looked at the equally silent Ron. "This is really... sigh..."

He bent down and pulled the Dragon Meat from Fang's mouth. "The Malfoy family... how should I put it? They really are detestable, but..."

He let out another heavy sigh, his voice low and hoarse. "It's all Lucius Malfoy's fault, that slick-haired... Never mind that. What about the boy?"

Harry froze for a moment before realizing he meant Draco. "He... isn't doing well. It's like he's become a different person."

"Yeah, how could he be?" Hagrid pressed the Dragon Meat against his eye. "No child, no family, should be dragged into that kind of hell."

His voice caught, carrying the bitter resonance of his own experiences. "That feeling, that helpless feeling..."

He shook his head, and his massive body trembled violently. "That feeling is more terrifying than being struck by a giant's club. It's a coldness that seeps out through the cracks in your bones."

Harry was trembling too.

That was right. That feeling was far too terrifying.

Ron could empathize somewhat as well.

Though Draco had a foul mouth and was a complete nuisance, he didn't deserve this.

Living in the same house as Voldemort and the Death Eaters for an entire summer—just imagining it made Ron shudder uncontrollably.
