Trelawney's prophecy included both people and events; with some careful guessing, one could roughly work out the timing.

The centaurs' prophecy contained only an event: a war that would determine the future of the Wizarding World was about to take place.

"This is all I can reveal." Magorian gave devout thanks to the stars.

Seeing every centaur offering thanks, Vincent copied them, pressing his fist to his chest and bowing slightly.

"Was the war caused by Voldemort?"

"You actually—" Bane quickly shook his head. "Then again, this is the one place he wouldn't dare attack rashly."

Magorian gave an ambiguous answer. "Those who determine the future of the Wizarding World have never been wizards alone."

"A war between wizards and magical creatures?"

He shook his head, then nodded. "I cannot reveal any more, or I would be defying fate."

Vincent's little brain ached from listening.

No wonder Hagrid, surrounded by several centaurs in the distance, did not like them.

Gryffindors probably did not like them much either.

As he thought about it, he suddenly realized that the three people to earn the friendship of centaurs over the past century had all been Gryffindors.

They chatted around the bonfire for a while, and before they knew it, midnight had arrived.

Though Vincent dearly wanted to skip Astronomy, Hagrid, who had pushed his way through the centaurs, would not allow it.

On the way back, Vincent pouted. "Professor Sinistra is always introducing the terrain of different planets. I'd rather listen to Chief Magorian explain what all those signs mean."

"I thought you wouldn't be interested in this sort of thing."

Hagrid was right—before Vincent had heard a prophecy.

Compared with Dumbledore, Vincent thought he was doing fairly well.

The prophecy concerning Voldemort and Harry had so far only confirmed the first part.
