Rubeus Hagrid was a very kind man.

When he saw Aragog by the roadside, no bigger than a finger at the time, he decided to adopt the homeless little thing.

Unfortunately, before Aragog had even grown to the size of a palm, a student died at Hogwarts.

Back then, a Slytherin upperclassman accused Aragog of doing it.

"Impossible. He was still just a little guy then. How could he have killed anyone?"

Vincent watched him wipe away tears with a palm bigger than his own head and had no idea how to comfort him.

"Professor Dumbledore was still the Transfiguration professor at the time. Even though he repeatedly assured Headmaster Dippet, I was still expelled from Hogwarts."

"Your wand?"

"Dumbledore helped me repair it."

Aragog probably was not the culprit. Otherwise, there was no reason for Dumbledore to keep it in the Forbidden Forest all this time.

"Didn't you ever suspect that upperclassman of framing you?"

"Impossible. Riddle was the only Slytherin student I didn't dislike. He must have done it because of his responsibilities as a prefect."

From Hagrid's description, this upperclassman seemed even more popular than Vincent.

Handsome and courteous to everyone, he really did not seem like the sort of person who would frame someone.

Yet Vincent still felt that something was off.

It was not malicious speculation. Other than genuine saints, every action anyone took had a purpose.

If it were not for the future of the Owl Court, certain members of the Black Swan would not be living easy lives right now.

So perhaps this outstanding Riddle had deliberately cultivated everyone's goodwill.

"What happened to him afterward?"

Hagrid thought seriously for a long time. "He received praise from Headmaster Dippet, and after graduating, he returned to Hogwarts to apply for a position."

"Did he fail?"
