Ginny's Plea for Help
Having obtained the last clue, Harry and his friends immediately decided to investigate the Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom.
However, due to the school being under martial law, with many people patrolling various areas every day, and the regulations issued by Dumbledore stipulating that a teacher must accompany the student to use the washroom, especially since that washroom was located next to the scene of the first attack and was heavily guarded, this undoubtedly added considerable difficulty to their investigation.
For various reasons, they couldn't find an opportunity to make a move for a very long time.
A few weeks later, Professor McGonagall made two announcements in the Great Hall.
First, the final exams will not be canceled and will be held as scheduled on July 1st.
The news struck every student like a bolt from the blue. Everyone had been living in fear all year because of the Secret Chamber incident, and no one was in the mood to study properly.
Many students who were considered academically weak assumed they wouldn't have exams, but they never expected Reality Stone to be so cruel.
Professor McGonagall looked at the students below, whose faces were filled with bitterness, and her expression darkened. "The reason why the school is still not closed under these abnormal circumstances is to ensure that you receive an education. Therefore, it is necessary to examine what you have learned this year."
"Besides that, I have another piece of good news to share with everyone," Professor McGonagall said excitedly. "The Mandrake can be harvested now, and tonight the students who were stoned, the Ghost, and Filch's cat will all return to normal."
One of them might tell us who their attacker was, and we might be able to catch them.
As soon as he finished speaking, a loud cheer erupted in the Great Hall.
After being on edge for so long, the school can finally lift the curfew. It looks like we just need to get through tonight.
However, Aaron and the others, who knew the truth, were not so optimistic. It was a cause for celebration that the stone barrier of those victims could be lifted, but they knew without a doubt that they had only seen the Basilisk and that the heir had not appeared in their sight.
Knowing what the killer looks like is not enough; you also need to know where the killer is hiding.
Moreover, Hagrid's roosters have all been killed, and apart from the two roosters that Aaron secretly captured, the Basilisk has no natural enemies at Hogwarts.
Most importantly, with Dumbledore was in charge of Hogwarts, absent, the Heir of Slytherin now had the confidence to overturn the table.
If the enemy is pushed too far, even if the professors can hold off the Basilisk, there will certainly be considerable casualties.
Suddenly, a figure appeared opposite Aaron. He slowly raised his head and was surprised to find that the person was Ginny Weasley.
"Ginny, what do you need me for?"
Ginny nodded nervously. "There's something I need to tell you. Only you can help me now."
"I?"
Aaron was slightly taken aback. Although he the Burrow for two days, his relationship with the girl was not that good; at most, they were just ordinary friends.
Besides, Ginny has several older brothers at Hogwarts who look after her, one of whom is Gryffindor Prefect. Even if she has any trouble, she doesn't need to ask him, Slytherin, for help!
"This is interesting."
Tell me what happened first, and then I'll decide whether or not to help.
"It's about the Secret Chamber." Ginny lowered her voice, glancing around constantly as she spoke, appearing extremely tense and exhausted.
Upon hearing this, Aaron immediately became wide awake and skillfully took an orange from Abei's pocket and placed it on Ginny's tray.
"Don't rush, speak slowly."
"I, I..." Ginny stammered, her eyes glistening with tears, her voice trembling with sobs. "I'm sorry, I don't know if I did those things, but they're definitely related to me."
"What exactly happened?" Aaron tried his best to keep his tone calm, because Ginny was clearly in a state where she couldn't handle any more stimulation.
"The diary, Tom Riddle's diary," Ginny said in a panic, her body trembling uncontrollably. "Everything was fine until I got that diary and everything started to go strange."
"Alright, stop talking." Aaron immediately interrupted her. "You're scared. You might faint before you even finish speaking."
Next, it's my turn to ask you questions. If you don't want to answer, you can simply nod or shake your head. Understand?
Ginny took a deep breath and then nodded.
"Don't be nervous, be strong."
First, do you know the location of the Secret Chamber?
Ginny shook her head.
"And what about the identity of the heir?"
Ginny shook her head again, but this time she clutched her head in anguish, "I don't know, I think I do know."
I even feel that I am the heir to the Secret Chamber, yet I also feel it can't be me, since I don't even know the most basic Parseltongue.
"Imperius Curse?" Aaron frowned. "Or something similar. Without a doubt, you've been controlled and have done things you don't even know you're doing."
Ginny nodded quickly, "Yes, that must be it."
"Alright! One last question." Aaron looked directly into her eyes and asked softly, "Is Riddle's Diary in your possession right now?"
Ginny nodded; she had indeed stolen it from Harry's dormitory.
Upon hearing this, Aaron fell into deep thought.
Riddle's Diary entries, Ginny Weasley, and numerous attacks were all intertwined in his mind.
Half a minute later, he suddenly opened his eyes wide, but his expression became extremely serious.
"I always thought the current student was the Heir of Slytherin, but I never imagined that he would be so much more monstrous than I thought."
What do you mean by that?
"The Heir of Slytherin from fifty years ago has never left. He has preserved himself in memory and seeks opportunities to guide others to continue Salazar Slytherin's great work."
"Ginny, that diary is dangerous. There's a high chance Tom Riddle is the mastermind."
Upon hearing this, Ginny's face turned deathly pale.
She had only thought Riddle was something wrong with the diary, but she didn't expect it to be so big, even involving the locked Secret Chamber incident fifty years ago.
"Help me." Ginny sobbed, grabbing Aaron's hand as if it were her last straw. "Please."
"I know, I'll help you, but could you please stop crying for a moment?" Aaron said with an awkward smile. "Crying in public like this, people might think I've done something to you!"
Ginny stopped crying and smiled, slowly releasing her hands. "What should I do?"
"It's simple, just give me the Diary of the Riddle Stars."
"But..."
"No, but I know what you want to say."
A diary is difficult to destroy, but it is not impossible to destroy; you just need to find the right method.
However, before that, I need to keep it safe and prevent it from falling into the hands of others.
Also, you must be careful not to open it.
Ginny nodded seriously, "I understand, I'll go right away."
"Wait, don't rush."
Today's class isn't over yet. If you disappear, Professor McGonagall will probably think you're a missing person.
Give it to me when I have dinner tonight! Put it in a bag, and make sure no one else sees it.
"You're very thoughtful."
"Keep it down, keep it down." Aaron waved his hand sheepishly. "By the way, if I may ask, why did you come to see me?"
"Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Harry Potter —aren't they more trustworthy than I, Slytherin?"
Ginny lowered her head, biting her lip, and hesitated for a while before timidly saying, "I don't want them to know, especially Harry Potter."
"So that's how it is." Aaron suddenly realized, then gave Ginny a smile. "Don't worry, I'll keep it a secret for you."
"Thanks."
Ginny took a deep breath and was about to leave when Percy suddenly walked over.
His gaze lingered on the tear tracks at the corner of Ginny's eyes for a few seconds, then he turned to Aaron with an angry expression. "Gaius, I think I need an explanation."
"Huh? Are you sure you're not mistaken?"
"No mistake, Ginny clearly cried, my sister..."
"Percy," Ginny said, looking at him angrily, "You've got it wrong, he didn't bully me."
"It's alright, Ginny." Percy patted her shoulder with concern. "Mom and Dad have written to me more than once asking me to take good care of you."
"If you feel wronged, tell me anytime. I'm still Gryffindor Prefect, so I still have that much authority."
"I'll say it again, you've really misunderstood." Ginny was on the verge of tears, worried that Aaron might get angry and stop helping her.
But her behavior only strengthened Percy's conviction.
Ginny was definitely bullied, and she was too scared to even tell the truth.
How can we tolerate this?
When his younger sister was bullied, he, as the older brother, naturally had to stand up for her.
He straightened his Prefect badge and said to Aaron with a serious expression, "Apologize to my sister."
Aaron stared at Percy in astonishment, his lips twitching, a million thoughts racing through his mind.
He didn't know whether Ginny had been wronged or not, but he knew very well that he had been wronged terribly.
He was taking a huge risk to deal with a magical item, but he didn't expect to have to endure a psychological blow first.
"Percy, are you even listening to me?"
I've already told you it's a misunderstanding, why won't you believe me?
Seeing Ginny's flustered state, Percy calmed down a bit. "Then tell me, why are you crying?"
"I..." Ginny opened her mouth, but hesitated and couldn't utter a single word.
What was she supposed to say? She couldn't very well tell Percy about the things in Riddle diary!
Although she is not the murderer, she is still connected to this series of attacks, and if this gets out, she may be expelled from school.
"Alright, let's not talk about it anymore." Aaron noticed Ginny's predicament and stood up immediately. "It's just an apology, it's no big deal."
"No." Ginny kept shaking her head. "You can't, you can't, and there's no need for you to do it."
"But the problem is that this is all I can do right now. Consider it protecting a little girl!" Aaron shrugged helplessly and then apologized to Ginny.
"Are you satisfied now, Gryffindor Prefect?"
"You're smart to know your place, but Slytherin will lose ten points."
"Enough!" Ginny angrily shook off Percy's arm and glared at him fiercely. "I hate you so much."
After saying that, she gave Aaron an apologetic look and ran away quickly.
