Torikaze hosted visiting leaders and oversaw the Academy of Arts showcase while Ran prepared to restore the Land of Whirlpools. After Ran crushed a rebellion and began rebuilding his country, Torikaze returned to Konoha as Hogen faced opposition over his relationship with Chinami.

Arc 57The Road to Graduation

While Obito Uchiha took control of Takigakure and waited for a chance to capture its Seven-Tails Jinchuriki, Torikaze’s circle prepared for the Academy of Arts’ graduation performance. Ran completed his work rebuilding the Uzumaki Clan and prepared to restore the Land of Whirlpools, as Kage began arriving in Konoha.

  • Obito Uchiha recovered, chose to take control of Takigakure, and used his Sharingan to control its guard and village chief so he could pose as the chief and watch the Seven-Tails Jinchuriki.
  • Torikaze reviewed the Academy of Arts’ top performers, approved Akeibi and her companions’ act, and had teachers explain why weaker acts were cut from the graduation broadcast.
  • Torikaze helped Naruto apologize to Sasuke with a wooden airplane, and the boys reconciled while Itachi witnessed their promise.

Arc 58The Academy of Arts Showcase

Torikaze welcomed the Tsuchikage, Kazekage, and other guests to Konoha, where they discussed the nations’ future and the threat of the Ōtsutsuki. The Academy of Arts showcase began with broadcasts across the Shinobi World, and the story left the remaining performers preparing to take the stage as Nawaki and Tomoko planned their wedding.

  • Torikaze and Karatachi Yagura welcomed Ōnoki and Rasa to Konoha, and Torikaze showed the visitors the electric train station and arranged their lodging.
  • Torikaze and the visiting leaders discussed security, a planned New City, military training, Kirigakure’s funding, and the possibility that the Ōtsutsuki would attack Konoha.
  • Torikaze introduced Ran to Mifune and encouraged Ran to build ties with the Land of Iron, while Akeibi prepared for the Academy of Arts showcase.

Arc 59The Star Contest and Ran’s Departure

Torikaze oversaw the performance contest, announced its winners, and organized tours for the top three groups. As the performers prepared to travel, Ran left Konoha to reform the Land of Whirlpools after parting from Xinyu.

  • Torikaze and the Kage arranged separate touring routes for the performers, while the contestants continued their acts and the audience voted.
  • The Minazuki Siblings placed second, Akeibi, Mei Terumi, and Kaguya Zhai placed first, and Aburame Tengen placed third.

Arc 60Ran Restores the Land of Whirlpools

Ran returned to the Land of Whirlpools, purged the corrupt ministers and rebellious princes, and began rebuilding the country with its recovered wealth. After the rebellion was settled, Torikaze and Chisato returned home, where Hogen’s relationship with Chinami became the next dispute.

  • Ran returned to the Daimyo Estate and, with Ashina’s letters as authority, decided to purge the corrupt nobles and rebellious princes.
  • Ran summoned the ministers to a banquet, exposed their corruption, and rejected their demand that he abdicate.
  • The six rebel princes confronted Ran, but Chisato killed the ministers and Torikaze bound the princes, killing three and sealing the Seventh Prince away.
  • Ran’s forces arrested the rebels’ families, seized their wealth, and placed the Sixth and Eighth Princes under permanent house arrest.
  • Ran organized the review of government records, arranged to recover assets hidden overseas, and planned payments to help the people.
  • Ran’s government announced the rebels’ punishments, executed the condemned descendants, and ordered the Seventh Prince’s son exiled after stripping him of his senses and abilities.
  • Torikaze and Chisato returned home and told Kushina and Minato that the rebellion was over, while Minato agreed to delay restoring trade with the Land of Whirlpools.
  • Hogen admitted that he was dating Chinami, and when Oyakashiro Homura brought her before the Windcloud Clan, Hogen defended their relationship.
