Cultivation
Pioneers cultivate by absorbing Spirit Qi and advancing through ranked realms. The earliest documented realm is the Divine Axe Realm, whose stars indicate a cultivator's advancement. 6 11
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Divine Axe Realm | 6 | A formal cultivation realm entered by condensing a Divine Axe through cultivation. |
| Divine Axe First Star | 6 11 | Considered an exceptional early achievement; national-level Pioneers were reportedly around this level during the early period. |
| Divine Axe Fifth Star | 40 48 | Places a Pioneer among the upper tier of combat power. |
| Divine Axe Seven Stars | 82 | Reached by Fang Yi after the Tai City crisis. |
| Divine Axe Nine Stars | 138 139 | A level associated with the legendary Undertaker and regarded as distant even by aspiring Pioneers. |
Attributes
Attributes are specialized powers that determine much of a Pioneer's combat potential. High-level Attributes are rare and highly valued by official organizations. 14 24
High-level Attributes
- Yang Attribute — Produces scorching, domineering power; it is particularly effective against Dark Attribute threats. 24 82
- Thunder Attribute — A powerful combat Attribute and a natural counter to the Dark Attribute. 19 38
- Dark Attribute — Dangerous and strongly associated with anomalies and Extremely Dark Zones. 49 75
- Barren Attribute — Can drain life force and enables certain plants to evolve by consuming living creatures. 60
- Wood, Fire, Wind, Gold, and Nether Poison Attributes — Other documented Attribute types possessed by Pioneers. 143 147 179 206
Dual-Attribute Pioneers
Pioneers can possess more than one Attribute. Such individuals are considered top-tier talents; Fang Yi's Yang and Thunder Attributes prompted the Spirit Association to regard him as a major recruitment target. 24
Equipment
- Spirit Weapons — Weapons implanted with Attributes, allowing ordinary equipment to unleash greatly increased power. They are extremely rare because Spirit Core integration technology remains incomplete. 10
- Attribute Forced Implantation — A method through which a Pioneer can implant Attributes into items, including weapons; Fang Yi considers it potentially applicable to clothing and pets as well. 10
- Special Pioneer ammunition — Spirit Association-developed sedative rounds that can incapacitate cultivators, though they are expensive and difficult to mass-produce. 186
Society and Organizations
Spirit Association
The Spirit Association monitors anomalies, registers Pioneers, manages public information, and seeks capable cultivators for dangerous operations. Its rules forbid cultivators from disturbing civilian life, reflecting concern that uncontrolled supernatural incidents could cause widespread panic during the approaching recovery. 10 83
- Pioneer forums were consolidated into a real-name-authenticated Main Forum, with local Spirit Association registration required to verify Pioneer status. 83
- Cities report their Pioneers' numbers and strength, with stronger representatives improving a city's standing and resource allocation. 82
- The Association may appoint prominent Pioneers as city captains, such as Tai City's Undertaker. 82 83
Military
The military fields Pioneer soldiers and handles restricted zones, aberration containment, and Mystic Domain exploration. It competes with other organizations to maintain ties with powerful independent Pioneers. 36 118 177
Independent Pioneer Groups
Many Pioneers form small groups to exchange information, explore anomalies, and protect one another. These alliances are useful but often unstable due to competition for limited spiritual-energy sites and opportunities. 11 13
Role in the Spirit Qi Recovery Era
Pioneers are both beneficiaries and frontline participants in the new era. Their strength increasingly becomes a primary standard of social standing, displacing purely academic or conventional measures of achievement. 139
They are expected to confront aberrations, beast tides, hostile Pioneers, and foreign threats. Powerful figures such as the Undertaker become symbols of public confidence and rallying points for other cultivators. 80 124 165 271
Known Risks
- Aberrations — Spirit Qi Recovery produces vicious beasts and anomalies that threaten ordinary civilians. 7
- Resource conflict — Spiritual-energy sites are limited, and stronger Pioneer groups may seize opportunities from weaker ones. 13
- Dark contamination — Extremely Dark Zones can corrode Pioneers, leaving expedition members critically injured or unconscious. 50
- Outlaw Pioneers — Some cultivators use their power against civilians or official organizations, particularly when tempted by major opportunities such as Thrones. 206 211
- Transformation by anomalies — Certain anomalies can rapidly kill, control, and convert victims into aberrant executioners. 266
Trivia
- The term “Pioneer” is regarded by some cultivators as especially fitting for Fang Yi, who is described as walking ahead of the world and opening the path of Spirit Qi Recovery for those behind him. 271
- In the early era, many Pioneers concealed their identities, while famous high-level cultivators became known by code names such as Undertaker and Swordbearer. 82 93
