On the contrary, the two Saints directly entrusted the Western Teachings to Minghe.
Jieyin said to Minghe, "Fellow Daoist, you are a creature born and bred within the Boundless Sea of Blood, but the nature of our Western Teachings does not quite align with the Sea of Blood."
"While the Sea of Blood has indeed brought you to your current achievements, it simultaneously restricts your further development."
He said very solemnly, "I have an idea; if it can succeed, your cultivation base may well advance further!"
Minghe was slightly startled, then immediately overjoyed.
His cultivation was at the Peak Quasi-Saint level; if he were to advance further, that would mean... Hunyuan or Saint!
Minghe pressed his palms together and said respectfully, "I beg for the Saint's compassion."
Zhunti smiled and said, "The doctrine of our Western Teachings is to cultivate the present life and seek the afterlife!"
"Now, you need to change your skin and take a walk through the Six Paths of Reincarnation!"
Minghe was slightly stunned. Reincarnation?
Jieyin explained, "The Human Race is now the protagonist of Heaven and Earth. If you go through the Six Paths of Reincarnation, you can use its purifying power to erase the Karma from your body."
"Fortunately, you have already experienced the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, and most of your Karma has already been eliminated."
"With your great Merit, you need not worry about the Mystery of the Womb at all."
Zhunti sighed with emotion, "Our Western Teachings are about to flourish. As long as you succeed in your reincarnation, you will immediately take charge of the Western Teachings."
"At that time... by borrowing this immeasurable Merit, your future will be promising!"
Minghe immediately bowed down: "Thank you both Saints for your cultivation!"
His primordial spirit pulsed incessantly within his Sea of Consciousness; this was his supreme opportunity!
Jieyin said: "Since that is the case, let us not delay. Fellow Daoist, come with me!"
In a flash of thought, the Saint traversed countless dimensions of time and space.
He arrived in the Tianbi Kingdom.
There, a noblewoman named Lady Maya resided.
Jieyin met her in a dream and told her: "Lady, please give birth to the Buddha!"
He tossed the red jade ball in his hand, and it went straight into Lady Maya's womb.
Lady Maya woke up from her dream in a start and hurriedly summoned her attendants, "I saw a Western Saint in my dream, who said that the Buddha has entered my womb."
The attendants were overjoyed.
Lady Maya felt intense labor pains.
After seven days and seven nights, she gave birth to a great being.
At this moment, two flying dragons arrived uninvited; one spat hot water and the other cold water to bathe him.
The great being stepped onto the earth and walked seven paces; with every step, a lotus bloomed.
He pointed one hand to the sky and the other to the earth, declaring: "In the heavens and on earth, I alone am the honored one!"
In the sky, thunder rumbled in broad daylight, rosy clouds and auspicious mist appeared, and Merit descended from the heavens, falling into the body of that great being.
The great being grew rapidly in the wind, instantly reaching adulthood.
That great being meditated under the Bodhi Tree for several days, finally attained enlightenment, and became the Buddha!
Jieyin said at the opportune moment: "Our Western Teachings are renamed Buddhism!"
"Sakyamuni shall take charge of the great teachings; he is the World-Honored One Buddha Ancestor!"
Thus, Buddhism was established.
The eastward transmission of the Dharma began!
Within the Six Paths of Reincarnation in the Netherworld Realm, At the very moment Sakyamuni was born, Pingxin was shocked to discover that a great being had also been born within the Boundless Sea of Blood.
What she found strange was that none of the Saints of the heavens seemed to have noticed his birth at all.
As the controller of the Six Paths of Reincarnation and the actual ruler of the Netherworld Realm, She could not let this anomaly go unnoticed.
Having left the Six Paths of Reincarnation, he arrived directly at the edge of the Boundless Sea of Blood.
Pingxin bowed to the mighty figure: "Fellow Daoist, how is it that you have returned?"
The mighty figure looked somewhat bewildered.
He furrowed his brows: "Indeed, why have I returned? And why was I reborn within the Boundless Sea of Blood?!"
The mighty figure patted his own forehead.
"Isn't this the territory of that brat Minghe? Where has he gone?"
Pingxin smiled.
"Billions of years have passed since you fell, Fellow Daoist. The seas have turned into mulberry fields, and even the protagonists of the Primordial Era have changed twice over."
"Fellow Daoist Minghe has already joined the Western Teachings and is now the current leader of the Western Teachings."
"He established the Great Thunderclap Monastery on Mount Sumeru and calls himself the World Honored One of Buddhism; he is quite imposing!"
Pingxin's words were filled with mockery toward Minghe!
The mighty figure was stunned for a moment, then flew into a rage.
"Minghe actually dared to establish a lineage on Mount Sumeru?!"
He seemed to hold Minghe in utter contempt!
Pingxin said with a smile, "No, that Buddhism was not built by Minghe, but by the two Sages of the Western Teachings, Jieyin and Zhunti!"
The mighty figure was taken aback: "Jieyin and Zhunti have both become Sages?"
He frowned: "Then has Hongjun attained the Dao as well?"
Pingxin laughed happily.
"That's right, Hongjun has attained the Dao. He is the teacher of all Sages and even the Incarnation of Heavenly Dao!"
The mighty figure was suddenly enraged.
"Incarnation of Heavenly Dao? He doesn't deserve it!!"
Pingxin said leisurely, "Fellow Daoist, you must not underestimate him. He is at the Peak Dao Integration Realm now!"
The mighty figure became even more furious.
"A hypocrite like him has actually been allowed to flourish. I will surely expose him and ruin his reputation!"
Pingxin shook her head quite directly.
"Fellow Daoist, that won't work. Although your cultivation is high, there is still a gap between you and Hongjun!"
The mighty figure laughed heartily.
"I didn't know why I had returned before, but now I know!"
"Heavenly Dao intends to use my hand to slay Hongjun!"
"But I shall not rush to settle scores with Hongjun; I must first go to Mount Sumeru and kill the thief who stole my mountain!"
"My Mount Sumeru is not a place for just any stray cat or dog to occupy!"
Pingxin laughed even more happily. She pointed a finger, and a flash of light shot out, landing in the hands of the mighty figure.
"This is intelligence on the Primordial Era. I wish you success, Fellow Daoist!"
The mighty figure thanked her joyfully: "Many thanks, Fellow Daoist. When my Seven Kills Banner emerges in the future, I will be sure to avoid your Six Paths of Reincarnation!"
Pingxin smiled once more.
She returned directly to the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
She was astonished, never having expected that the Lord of the Seven Kills Oath would actually be resurrected!
It was truly completely beyond her expectations.
"Strange, the Rise of the West is imminent, yet the original true master of the West has actually been resurrected?"
"He should have been completely annihilated!"
"Who has the power to resurrect him?"
Pingxin pondered left and right but could not grasp the reason.
Suddenly, a flash of insight crossed her mind.
"Heavenly Dao!!"
Hiss!
A great calamity is coming to the Primordial Era!
On Penglai Immortal Island in the East Sea, Lin Dong grabbed a handful of Wind Tail, a strange look appearing on his face.
"The world is divided into Yin-Yang."
"The East is for Immortals, the West is for Demons; this is a grand trend set long ago."
"Dao Ancestor Hongjun forcibly pushed the West to cast aside the demonic and embrace the immortal, creating a massive Karma!"
"I never expected that person to actually return!"
"This Primordial Era world is becoming increasingly incomprehensible!"
"However, it is also becoming more and more interesting!"
Lin Dong casually summoned the Monkey.
"Wukong, go to Biyou Palace on Jin'ao Island in the East Sea and find Little Friend Lingbao to pass this news to him."
He looked at the Monkey's eager face.
"Go wherever you want to play; just remember to come back if you stir up trouble!"
The Monkey bowed respectfully to him and transformed into a streak of light, vanishing from sight!
Lin Dong watched the excited Monkey and shook his head slightly.
The Monkey of this life could be considered fortunate.
He had not experienced the life-and-death separations of his monkey troop, nor had he endured the arduous journey of seeking the Dao.
Born with the cultivation of a Half-Step Golden Immortal (by the standards of Penglai Immortal Island), he was naturally able to roam the world freely.
Although Penglai Immortal Island was vast, he was the only cultivator there.
Since the Monkey was his disciple, the rare birds, strange beasts, Ginseng Baby, and Ganoderma Horse on the island dared not play with him.
Sun Wukong had a lively nature, how could he possibly endure that?
To make Sun Wukong cultivate the Dao properly, he would have to wait until the Monkey suffered a setback before he would strive for progress.
Therefore, Lin Dong did not mention the Monkey's cultivation at all.
As long as the Monkey hit a wall in the Primordial Era, he would inevitably be spurred to action.
One must know that in another spacetime, the Monkey had cultivated to the realm of Primordial Unity True Immortal in a very short time.
That speed was faster than anyone else's.
While Hongjun had indeed schemed against the Monkey, in a sense, he had laid a solid foundation for him.
Otherwise, who could be like the Monkey, going from a newcomer who had never realized the Dao to a Primordial Unity Golden Immortal in such a short time?
When it came down to it, it was all the result of Hongjun's behind-the-scenes manipulation.
Lin Dong did not care at all about the Monkey causing trouble outside.
What kind of major trouble could a mere Half-Step Golden Immortal cause?
Even if he did cause trouble, there was nothing to fear; as long as he returned to Penglai Immortal Island, even a Hunyuan Infinite Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal could be held at bay!
Lin Dong set the matter of the Monkey aside for the moment, but he was quite interested in what had just occurred.
"Strange, how could that Lord of Seven Kills awaken?"
"What is even more bizarre is that apart from the Sage Pingxin, no other Sage has noticed him."
"The Sage Yuanshi entrusts his spirit to the void of the Heavenly Dao, existing everywhere and in everything."
"How could the events happening in the Primordial Era escape their eyes and ears?"
"Yet, this matter seems to have been shielded!"
Lin Dong felt an indescribable sense of eeriness!
Could there actually be things in this Primordial Era that even the Sages had not perceived?
In truth, there were many things the Sages could not perceive.
Theoretically, under the Heavenly Dao, Sages were omniscient and omnipotent.
But due to the mutual interference between Sages, this ability of omniscience and omnipotence was greatly discounted.
They remained ignorant of much information involving the various Sages.
However, the awakening of the Lord of the Seven Kills Oath was a subversive event, affecting everyone from Dao Ancestor Hongjun and Shangqing, down to Taishang, Yuanshi, Nuwa, and the Two Sages of the West.
These Sages were all completely unaware.
Yet, the Sage Pingxin of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, who remained aloof from them, was able to see it.
Supernatural and bizarre!
Lin Dong tapped his fingers on the table, one by one.
His expression gradually turned serious.
This was completely different from the Primordial Era trends he knew.
The books he had read before transmigrating never mentioned any of this!
Lin Dong's eyes glimmered with excitement.
It was better if the trends changed.
That way, everything would be full of novelty.
If things remained stagnant, what would be the point?
His life of solving mysteries had just become interesting again.
Now, the question arose:
Why had none of the Sages noticed this scene?
This was not normal!
Lin Dong tapped his fingers against the table rhythmically.
He cast aside the various guesses in his mind, his eyes growing increasingly bright:
"The Witch-Demon Calamity, the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, the Journey to the West Calamity—they all share a common point: they were all designed by Hongjun."
"In the Witch-Demon Calamity, if not for his interference, the Witch Clan would have been the sole protagonists of that era."
"The Investiture of the Gods Calamity could not have been set in motion without his intervention—the world simply lacked sufficient killing intent and Karma."
"The Journey to the West Calamity was even more so; he directly summoned the Sages and forcibly unified their thoughts!"
"In that case..."
Lin Dong's eyes shone even brighter.
"These calamities are all just what Hongjun deems to be the necessary calamities!"
"The goal is singular: to promote the Rise of the West and repay the Karma of the Heavenly Dao."
The corners of Lin Dong's mouth curled up, and he felt a surge of excitement.
"These are merely the trends of the Heavenly Dao as perceived by Hongjun!"
"But there are those who do not agree!"
Hongjun is the Incarnation of Heavenly Dao; his words are the decrees of the Heavenly Dao.
Who among the Sages or the cultivators of the Primordial Era would dare to disagree with him?
Even if they were dissatisfied, what could they do?
They still had to obey obediently, didn't they?
But Lin Dong laughed aloud, having realized a shocking truth.
"If one shifts their gaze further back, one can see the intentions of the Heavenly Dao outside of Hongjun's influence."
"In the East, the Three Dragon-Han Clans stood side by side, but who was in the Western World? The Devil Ancestor Luohu!"
"Luohu unified the Western World."
"If not for the Dragon-Han Calamity and the struggle between the Dao and the Demon."
"Then the East would have been the domain of the Dao Ancestor, while the West would have been the domain of the Devil Ancestor!!"
Lin Dong's hand, which had been tapping the table, suddenly stopped.
He finally reached his conclusion.
"To the Heavenly Dao, letting things take their natural course is the true trend of the Heavenly Dao."
"The Dao and the Demon are one, two sides of the same coin in the evolution of the Great Dao."
"Yet now, Hongjun wants to revitalize the Western World and make the Immortal Dao flourish there..."
"This fundamentally violates the Yin-Yang balance of the Heavenly Dao."
"Therefore... the Heavenly Dao does not permit it!"
"The Lord of the Seven Kills Oath returns from the void, born in the Boundless Sea of Blood, possessing power no less than Hongjun's..."
"This is the dissatisfaction of the Heavenly Dao!"
Lin Dong laughed heartily.
He laughed with immense joy.
"The Primordial Era is about to put on a good show!"
Lin Dong murmured, "So, the Heavenly Dao has consciousness! This makes things even more fun!"
He did not know that when he had preached to Little Friend Lingbao (Tongtian) back then, the consciousness that had attached itself to Tongtian was the Heavenly Dao Origin.
Otherwise, Lin Dong would have deduced this answer much earlier.
Lin Dong drank a cup of Enlightenment Tea with satisfaction.
"The Primordial Era is becoming more and more interesting now!"
"The Heavenly Dao actually made a move, heh!"
The Monkey was overjoyed after leaving Penglai Immortal Island.
He was naturally fond of lively things!
It was a pity that there was only himself and his master on Penglai Immortal Island.
Although there were many rare birds, exotic beasts, Ginseng Baby, Ganoderma Horse, and various spirits on the island, none of them dared to play with him.
Who told him to be the master's disciple?
He was born with a high status.
It wasn't that those spirits didn't want to play with the Monkey, but they didn't dare!
Without enough good fortune, being friends with the Monkey was an act that would diminish one's blessings.
Furthermore, how could the Monkey dare to play wildly in front of his master?
What if his master scolded him?
The Monkey admired Lin Dong's cultivation and attainments to the point of prostration!
Now it was fine, he, Sun Wukong, had been ordered by his master to go out and play!
The sea is wide for fish to leap, and the sky is vast for birds to fly!
He, Sun Wukong, was liberated!
The Monkey set up a streak of light and headed straight for Biyou Palace on Jin'ao Island in the East Sea.
He was a Quasi-Saint; if he wanted to travel, he didn't need to set up a streak of light at all. With a single thought, he could tear open a space gate, and reaching anywhere was just a matter of a Thought-form.
But the Monkey was playful.
Even the scenery while traveling was something he wanted to admire more.
It was just that the Monkey's escape technique was truly powerful, so even without using a space gate, it took him very little time.
Tongtian in Biyou Palace was suddenly stunned.
Duobao and the others hurriedly asked for guidance: "Master, has something happened?"
Tongtian nodded solemnly.
"You eight shall follow me to welcome a distinguished fellow Daoist."
Huh?!
A distinguished fellow Daoist?!
Could it be that the Sages had descended?
Duobao and the others looked at each other in dismay.
After the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, the reputation of their eight Quasi-Saints of Biyou Palace resounded throughout the Three Realms.
Even the Sages thought highly of them.
If the Sages came in person, having a few of them accompany them would be enough.
But they didn't expect that Tongtian would actually want all eight of them to accompany him.
This level of protocol was quite grand!
Although Duobao and the others were puzzled, they still obeyed Tongtian's order.
The main gate of Biyou Palace was thrown wide open.
Tongtian led the way, with the Eight Great Disciples—Duobao, Jinling, Wudang, Guiling, Zhao Gongming, and the Sanxiao—all following behind.
They stood quietly by the gate, waiting for the arrival of the honored guest.
Before long, a short figure came running over.
Tongtian exclaimed in admiration: "This fellow Daoist has truly given me plenty of face!"
Duobao was even more confused.
Not using escape techniques and traveling on foot at a Sage's dojo was an unwritten rule of all Sage dojos.
Even they, these eight Peak Quasi-Saints, had to do this when visiting other Sage dojos.
This was a very common etiquette.
But why did Duobao feel a hint of being "flattered" from his own master?!
The feeling was so intense, It made Duobao feel particularly unreal: "I'm not just imagining things, am I?"
"Master is a supreme Sage at the Eleventh Heaven of the Dao Integration Realm; could there really be someone in this Primordial Era who could make him feel flattered?"
"To even have such a thought is an insult to Master, isn't it?"
Thinking of this, Duobao felt incredibly ashamed of his own thoughts!
