| Primordial Golden Immortal | 1 | After countless epochs of cultivation aided by the Sign-in System, Lin Dong considers the Primordial Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm still far away. |
| Minor improvement — realm unspecified | 1 | His first Dao discussion with Tongtian slightly improves his cultivation, reinforcing his belief that secluded cultivation had become a bottleneck. |
Background / History
Lin Dong transmigrated to the Primordial Era and received a Sign-in System that supplied abundant heavenly materials, spiritual treasures, and the Primordial Infinite Grand Unity Golden Immortal True Scripture. To evade the approaching Investiture of the Gods Calamity, he isolated Penglai Immortal Island behind the Immeasurable Great Array. The safety came at a cost: without anyone to discuss the Dao with, his cultivation stagnated. 1
Tongtian’s arrival at Penglai gave Lin Dong the exchange he sought. Mistaking Tongtian’s alias, Daoist Lingbao, for that of a lesser Mystic Gate cultivator, Lin Dong treated him as a promising young friend and taught him his understanding of the Dao. He warned “Lingbao” that the Intercepting Sect would be destroyed by its karma, unreliable disciples, and the coming Investiture of the Gods Calamity. Tongtian acted on that advice by renouncing his Saint position, disbanding the sect, and preserving only disciples of sound character. 1 2
Lin Dong continued to provide Tongtian and the Eight Great Disciples of Biyou Palace with extraordinary opportunities. He merged suitable Great Dao laws into the eight disciples, stabilized them with immeasurable Merit, bestowed Primordial Violet Qi and crafted treasures, and raised Tongtian’s axe to a level that pushed Tongtian near the Dao Integration Realm. 8 9
His assistance later extended to Pingxin. To protect the Six Paths of Reincarnation from the Two Sages of the West, Lin Dong sent a bracelet containing immeasurable Merit, Pangu’s Heart, the Reincarnation Dao Fruit, and the Great Dao of Strength Dao Fruit. Pingxin refined these gifts and rose to the Twelfth Heaven of the Heavenly Dao Realm. 11 12
After the later conflicts surrounding Buddhism and Luohu, Lin Dong began constructing the Eight-Nine Immortal Palace with Nuwa’s assistance. He intended it to shelter selected Demon Clan members under his authority and to provide a path toward sainthood through its Heavenly Ladder. 152 154 155
Appearance
When Tongtian first encounters him, Lin Dong manifests as an imposing figure surrounded by flowing runes and faint immortal music; simply seeing him causes Dao insights to arise in Tongtian’s mind. In the mortal realm, he can present himself as an ordinary young man. 1 156
- Dao runes circulate around his manifested form. 1
- His presence produces overwhelming Dao resonance for powerful cultivators. 1 8
- He conceals his aura when dealing with uncertain parties or exploring foreign territory. 1 169
Personality
Lin Dong is cautious despite his resources. He sealed Penglai away rather than risk exposure during the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, and he repeatedly avoids commitments that would entangle him in conflicts without a clear relationship or benefit. 1 15 152
He is intensely curious about the Primordial Era’s hidden causality. He treats great calamities, Hongjun’s plans, Luohu’s return, and the changing balance of the Heavenly Dao as puzzles to be examined rather than events to passively endure. 2 24 35 37
His aid is selective rather than indiscriminate. Lin Dong supports people he respects or finds useful—such as Tongtian, Pingxin, Nuwa, the Divine Race goddesses, and King Black Wind—but insists that others must ultimately choose their own allegiance and bear its consequences. 11 152 178 192
