The Bet
Klayr stood next to Roy for a short while and realized that no Silver Moon Elf was willing to talk to Roy, which made her realize that Roy was somewhat out of place with his surroundings.
He picked up a glass of apple juice, took a sip, put one hand on Roy's shoulder, and kept looking around while muttering to Roy:
"You're in a really bad situation!"
Roy an awkward smile.
Klayr nudged Roy with her shoulder and whispered in his ear:
"Any elf beauties you fancy? I'll go and arrange a date with them for you."
Klayr noticed two Silver Moon Elf elves standing on the other side of the table. Roy's gaze lingered on the snow-white thighs of one of the long-legged girls, who was wearing a knee-length dance dress, for a few seconds. The elf beauty was also quite sweet and pure-looking, standing gracefully by the table, appearing very quiet and demure.
"Hey! So you like this one, that's easy! You wait here, I'll take care of it..."
Klayr finished her apple juice, handed the empty glass to Roy, and then leaned over with her plate.
Klayr walked up to the two beautiful elven women and said something to them.
The three of them started chatting quite familiarly.
After saying a few words, Klayr pointed towards Roy's side...
Two Silver Moon Elf elves walked towards them together with Klayr.
Klayr kept glancing at the elven beauty's best friend, and a few words from her made the elven beauty's best friend cover her mouth and laugh.
On the way, Klayr even gesticulated wildly and said something.
This caused the two Silver Moon Elf beauties to burst into laughter again.
The three walked over...
Klayr introduced the two elven beauties, "This is my good friend Roy, Half-Elf born and raised in Castleton City!"
He winked at Roy and said, "Please allow me to introduce these two beautiful ladies. This is Martina, and this is Sherry..."
He deliberately put his sweet-looking, elfin best friend Martina's name first.
Then, I started chatting with this elfin beauty who was wearing smoky eyeshadow.
It's clear that Martina knows Klayr...
When she looked at Klayr, her eyes sparkled like stars.
At this point, the somewhat quiet and demure fairy-like beauty, Sherry, would politely chat with Roy for a while.
"You and Klayr are friends?"
"Yes, my partner for the Elementary Martial Arts Training."
"Oh!" Sherry's big eyes darted around as she took a sip of juice.
Actually, she wanted to try the mead in the barrel next to her, but the Half-Elf didn't give her the slightest hint.
How did you two meet?
Sherry glanced at Martina and asked Roy somewhat absentmindedly.
If she dared to slip away now, Martina would definitely break off all ties with her later...
After all, not every elf girl has the chance to chat with Klayr for a while.
Roy could tell that Sherry seemed a little distracted, occasionally glancing at Klayr, but he still perked up and said:
"We are all freshmen who just enrolled this year!"
"So you're a junior too!"
Sherry squinted, forced a smile, and said to Roy.
Although she had a pair of pure blue eyes, she had never made eye contact with Roy...
Subsequently, more and more elves discovered Klayr.
Then elves kept gathering in this direction.
Klayr is a popular figure among the new Elf Academy. Edith has invited a group of young Silver Moon Elf to this ball, many of whom are currently still attending classes at the Elf Academy.
Many elves want to get to know Klayr...
There were too many elves gathering, and Roy was constantly pushed to the periphery. Klayr repeatedly pulled Roy to her side and introduced him to her friends.
With Klayr's introduction, the Silver Moon Elf became very polite to Roy and would exchange a few words with him in a very courteous manner.
"The Blue Da Nei River" had already become a sensation at the academy...
Therefore, everyone admires Klayr and thinks she is a musical genius.
Roy, standing next to Klayr, seemed more like a background figure...
Martina naturally became Klayr's date for the evening.
Sherry also quietly took Roy's arm; her ivory-like arm was cool and smooth, making Roy feel his cheeks burn...
As Klayr turned around, she winked smugly at Roy.
A beautiful melody is drawing to a close...
Just as the music stopped, a Silver Moon Elf, gripping the railing on the Ship Building, shouted towards the deck, "Klayr, I heard you wrote a wonderful piece of music. Could you play it for everyone?"
The shout attracted almost all the elves on the deck, and they all looked towards the Ship Building, searching for Klayr in the crowd.
Roy looked up and saw the young Elven Nobles standing on the Ship Building. He immediately felt that the man looked somewhat familiar.
Klayr glanced at Martina, whose eyes held a hint of admiration, and smiled smugly.
He raised his glass high and said loudly to the elves around him, "Alright then, I dedicate this song ' The Blue Da Nei River ' to my two beautiful senior sisters, to the beautiful moonlight over the sea tonight, and to all my friends at the ball..."
Before Klayr could finish speaking, a round of enthusiastic applause broke out.
The performers on the boat stopped.
The elves on deck made way for Klayr, Klayr, arm in arm with Martina, headed straight for the bow of the ship, gesturing for Roy to follow behind.
As Sherry linked arms with Roy and they walked through the crowd, her innocent eyes sparkled, and even her breathing became a little rapid...
Klayr released Martina's hand, climbed to the bow of the boat alone, and sat down at the organ to play "The Blue Da Nei River".
The calm sea reflecting the bright moonlight perfectly matches the mood of this piece of music.
When the music ended, the boat was completely silent.
Roy had intended to clap, but after clapping twice, he hesitated.
The elves then realized that the song had ended.
A round of applause immediately followed...
A young elf seized the opportunity to ask Klayr loudly, "Klayr, I heard that you composed this piece on the Da Nei River?"
Klayr thanked the band members beside her before standing on the high platform at the bow of the ship and addressing everyone:
"To be more precise, this piece was composed by Roy and me at the Da Nei River camp on the edge of the Malaga Jungle. At that time, Roy heard the sound of the river flowing by the Da Nei River, and then called me. We listened to this beautiful melody quietly under the moonlight, and then composed this piece, 'The Blue Da Nei River '."
The Silver Moon Elf immediately began whispering among themselves.
Martina looked at Klayr with admiration as he walked down from the high platform at the bow of the ship and said, "If I have the chance, I must stay at the Da Nei River camp in the Malaga Jungle for one night."
A Silver Moon Elf joined in, praising, "Based solely on this ' Blue Da Nei River', Klayr undoubtedly deserves to be Castleton City's most outstanding composer of the year!"
Unexpectedly, at this moment, a handsome and dashing Silvermoon Elven Nobles stepped out from the crowd, smiled slightly at Klayr, and said with a touch of pride:
"Although this piece is very beautiful and melodious, in my opinion it is just a chance creation, a flash of inspiration that cannot be replicated. Without more excellent works to support it, Klayr can only be considered a musical prodigy in Castleton. It is impossible for him to be called the best composer based on just one piece."
As this Elven Nobles said, there are many elven composers in Castleton City, and these composers write many excellent works every year. If someone is chosen as the best composer of the year based on just one piece of music, some elves will definitely disagree.
The title of "most outstanding composer" still carries some weight in Castleton City.
Therefore, some elves agreed with the handsome Elven Nobles's words, while others disagreed.
At this moment, Klayr had already stepped down from the high platform at the bow of the ship.
Seeing the handsome Elven Nobles emerge from the crowd, he tilted his head, suppressing his excitement, and said to Roy in a very low voice, "Roy, haven't you always wanted a Magic Inscription Construct? Now's your chance."
A sly glint appeared in Klayr's eyes...
"Who is he?" Roy asked.
"Yoram.Hayel, his family owns the largest Magic Inscription Construct shop in Castleton's Magic Guild ..." Klayr introduced.
Their conversation did not take place in front of Martina and Sherry...
The two Silver Moon Elf beauties looked at Klayr with expectant eyes, as if they had heard some amazing inside information.
Klayr turned and walked back to the high platform at the bow of the ship...
He raised his hands, and the somewhat noisy crowd immediately quieted down. Then Klayr smiled at Yoram.Hayel and said, "Hayeier, since you say that ' The Blue Da Nei River ' is just a random creation of mine, do you dare to make a bet with me?"
Yoram.Hayel hesitated for a moment, but under the watchful eyes of the surrounding elves, he could only bite the bullet and say:
"What's there to be afraid of? I don't believe you can compose a piece as beautiful as ' The Blue Da Nei River ' on this Nautilus!"
He used rhetoric to limit the creative process to the Nautilus...
Klayr retorted, "Then let's make a bet."
"What are you going to wager?" Yoram.Hayel. "If all you have to offer are Magic Crystal Stone, I have no interest in betting with you."
Klayr stole the spotlight that should have been his, Yoram.Hayel wanted to make things difficult for him, so he had no intention of making any bets...
He then thought of raising the stakes to discourage Klayr from making a move.
Unexpectedly, Klayr was quite assertive and asked directly:
"Yoram.Hayel, what do you want?"
Yoram.Hayel paused, glanced around, and said:
"If you lose, you'll let me play ' The Blue Da Nei River ', but you'll never be allowed to play it in public again! As for what stakes you want, whatever I have, you can choose..."
The surroundings suddenly became quiet.
Yoram.Hayel's condition was extremely harsh, essentially a bet using Klayr's famous song as collateral.
"Okay, I agree!" Klayr responded loudly without hesitation, then added, "If you lose, I want a ' Spirit Gathering ' Magic Inscription Construct."
The surrounding crowd erupted in uproar; the two bets were simply not on the same level...
