Druid Boy
Roy followed Gelu into the hotel room.
The room wasn't big, with a bunk bed, a wooden wardrobe with double doors, a desk and a chair by the window. The room only had one window, and opening it gave you a panoramic view of the entire town...
The hotel wasn't large, but the rooms were very unique. Although it was built on a stone wall, the rooms were almost entirely made of wood.
Each room in the hotel has a hot spring pool. These hot spring pools are not very big, even smaller than a regular bathtub. They are carved out of the mountainside and filled with clear hot spring water. A stream of water flows out from the side, and the overflowing hot spring water flows out through the drainage channel at the foot of the room.
Each hot spring pool offers ample privacy.
Instructor Gru placed his luggage on the upper bunk, then lightly leaped and sat down on his bed.
"Roy, how about I sleep on the top bunk and you sleep on the bottom one?"
"OK!"
Roy turned from the window, glanced at the bed, and readily agreed.
Before Roy could even sit on the bed for a moment, Sabrina stood at the door, knocked, and poked her head in, saying to Roy, "Roy, I saw the Fish Market in town just now. How about we cook some fish?"
Sabrina's suggestion appealed to Roy, even though they hadn't eaten much on the boat.
Roy thought about the beautiful coastline of Pattington Island, and how there was a perfect reef near the harbor for fishing. Since they would be quite bored during their two-day stay on the island, he suggested to Sabrina, "Great idea! I brought my fishing rod, so why don't we go fishing at the beach and grill whatever we catch..."
"Okay," she readily agreed.
Sabrina knew Roy's grilling skills; every time Roy brought grilled fish to Moira, the two of them would share it.
Strolling along the beach on the island is always more comfortable than staying cooped up in a hotel.
Roy stood up and said to Sabrina, "I'll go say hello to Instructor Nora first..."
Knocking on Instructor Nora's door, Miss Scarlett seemed to be lying in bed catching up on sleep.
Roy was a little embarrassed and tried to keep his voice down as he spoke to Instructor Nora:
"Instructor Nora, we want to go for a walk on the beach!"
As she spoke, Sabrina appeared behind Roy.
Instructor Nora glanced at Sabrina, said nothing else, only said, "Okay, but please be careful."
Not long after Roy and Sabrina left, Instructor Virgil stood at the door of Sabrina's room, holding a fruit plate in one hand and unbuttoning one button of his shirt collar with the other. He then knocked lightly twice, but after waiting for a long time, there was no response from inside.
After waiting a little while longer, Instructor Virgil knocked on the door again, somewhat impatiently.
Gelu pushed open the door to the next room.
Gelu glanced at the fruit plate in Instructor Virgil's hand, reached into the plate, grabbed a piece of apple, and popped it into his mouth. He mumbled something to Instructor Virgil:
"He just went out. I heard he's going to the beach to eat fish. You can still catch up with him if you go now..."
Instructor Virgil chuckled and said:
"Let's just leave."
Instructor Gru scooped another piece of fruit from the fruit plate, put it in his mouth, and ate it with a 'smack smack' sound.
"This one doesn't seem to be buying your act. I think you should find someone else," Instructor Gru said.
Instructor Virgil blinked, hesitated for a moment, and then, realizing he was actually a little reluctant to part with her, said:
"Let's wait and see..."
In the afternoon, Roy and Sabrina walked along the only road in town to the beach near the pier.
Just as Roy had said, there were not only rocky areas suitable for fishing, but also beautiful white beaches, although the beaches were no longer suitable for swimming as it was approaching December.
Roy found a good spot on the rocks to fish, using Sand Worm he had just dug up from the beach as bait. Soon, Roy caught two Stone Sea Bream.
Holding the live Stone Sculpture fish, Roy stood on the sea reef and waved vigorously to Sabrina.
Sabrina gathered some dry firewood in the woods and then built a campfire on the beach, surrounding it with stones.
The fire is burning very brightly; it's time to grill the food once all the firewood has burned to charcoal.
Before long, Roy came over from the sea reef, carrying a tin bucket. Inside the bucket were not only several fish, but also some oysters he had dug up from the sea reef and some sea snails he had collected.
Oysters and whelks are things that Half-Elf rarely eat, but Roy thinks they are incredibly delicious, even more so than grilled fish.
Sabrina actually prefers fruit, but she comes from a family that sells fish, so she doesn't mind eating fish.
Remove the scales and entrails from the sea fish, then marinate it with salt. Skewer it on sticks made from tree branches and slowly roast it over a campfire. As the fat in the fish is roasted out, it drips onto the charcoal fire, releasing its aroma.
Sprinkled with spices, the aroma of barbecue wafts far and wide...
After placing the grilled fish on the wooden board, Roy threw a stone into the charcoal fire. Undeterred by the heat, he placed the conch shell on the stone and waited for it to slowly cook.
As for the oysters, Roy simply pried open the shells with his dagger, squeezed on some lemon juice, and slurped them down in one gulp; the taste was sweet...
Sabrina held a skewer of grilled sea fish and slowly tore off the fish meat with her hands.
She didn't necessarily want to try the grilled fish; she just wanted to sit on the beach and quietly enjoy the sea view and sunset, which would be more comfortable than staying in the hotel.
Just as Sabrina was about to put down the grilled fish, she suddenly saw the bushes beside the beach shake violently, and a Brown Bear emerged from the bushes.
Its massive body was as sturdy as a small mountain. It opened its mouth slightly and stared intently at the grilled fish in Sabrina's hand.
While Sabrina was still in a daze, the Brown Bear actually wriggled its huge rump and walked straight to the campfire.
It ignored Roy and Sabrina completely and sat down on its own.
Then his body began to twist, and in just a few seconds, the Brown Bear transformed into an elven boy. His skin was somewhat gray, his face was painted with runes, and he wore a set of leather armor. He reached out and took a skewer of grilled fish from the campfire, carefully held it under his nose, and sniffed it hard.
When Roy saw that he was an elven boy, all his fear vanished, and he asked him directly:
"You... you're a bear spirit who cultivated into an elf?"
The elven boy paused for a moment, then turned to look at Roy and said, "I am a druid."
"Oh, so before you eat our food, shouldn't you greet us and ask for our permission before you start eating...?"
Roy wiped his mouth and asked the elven boy.
"I saw that you two were full, and it would be a waste to leave this food here, so I'll help you finish it off..."
The elven boy spoke in an interesting way. As he spoke, he bit off the head of the grilled fish in one bite. He didn't spit out the bones, chewed it a couple of times, and then swallowed it.
Roy didn't stop him. After he finished eating one skewer of grilled fish, he handed him another skewer and let him eat all of them.
Roy, meanwhile, sat in front of the campfire and began using a dagger to pick out the meat from a conch, eating it while it was still hot.
"You can eat this?"
The elven boy asked curiously.
He had already swallowed the entire grilled fish and wiped the grease off his mouth with the back of his hand.
Roy showed him the conch shell and said, "Of course, but most elves don't like to eat it. I'm a Half-Elf, with half human blood, so I can enjoy this delicacy!"
Seeing that the elf boy seemed very interested, she handed him one.
The elven boy imitated Roy, using the dagger at his waist to pick out the snail meat. He wasn't too bothered by the heat; he put it in his mouth, chewed it a couple of times, and then spat it out, saying, "This doesn't taste good."
Roy didn't care either...
He leaned closer, staring at the elven boy, and asked curiously, "Are you a resident of Pattington Town?"
The elven boy shook his head vigorously and said, "No, we're just passing through and are on our way to the Pattington Plane."
His leather armor appeared to be hand-sewn using the most primitive methods, and it was rather rough...
Although they speak Elven Language, their accent is quite different from that of Castleton.
The elven boy ate three grilled fish from Roy, wiped the seasoning off his mouth, and felt a little embarrassed when he saw Sabrina and Roy looking at him. Considering it was their first meeting, he didn't want to take anything for free, so he fumbled in his pocket and pulled out an Acorn Seed, handing it to Roy.
Roy took it in his hand. It was an Acorn Seed that looked silvery on the outside, and it should have a kernel inside.
"Here, take this Acorn Seed." The elven boy said abruptly.
Roy looked at the seed, which was very delicate, but didn't ask what it was for. It wasn't edible anyway; was he supposed to plant it in the yard and wait for it to take root, sprout, and grow into a towering tree? "Alright, I'm going now. Thank you for dinner. I've never had grilled fish like this before; it was delicious!"
Although the elf boy's face still looked somewhat immature, his words were very sincere.
He then turned and walked into the bushes.
Roy and Sabrina didn't stay on the beach for long either. They quickly extinguished the last embers of the campfire and hurried back to the hotel.
When I returned, I happened to see Instructor Nora sitting in the living room chatting with Ms. Nancy...
"It's all taken care of. I've put the things in the seventh Confinement Room. Now it's up to you."
Abbott returned to the hotel and said to Benjamin, looking exhausted.
Benjamin was drawing Magic Scroll and couldn't afford to be distracted for even a moment, so he agreed without even looking up:
"Knew."
After he finished drawing the Magic Shield Scroll, he remembered what Abbott had said when he walked in: the package was hidden in the Confinement Room. He couldn't help but feel a bit of a headache. How could he have hidden it in that place...?
Benjamin put down the Magic Scroll in his hand, intending to talk to Abbott about the situation at Parrham Prison, but found that Abbott had already started praying on the bed, so he said nothing...
