The Earl's Request
"I heard from Christine that you captured that human mage in the Padesto City?" Earl Swynborne asked.
Roy was somewhat indignant when he talked about this.
He said somewhat angrily:
"We handed him and a local Slave Traders from Padesto over to the city Guard Squad the night before. Who would have thought that Benjamin would be released without charge by those Elven Guard the next day? And that local Slave Traders has transformed into an orchard farmer. On the contrary, we members of the Adventure Group were treated as murderers who indiscriminately killed orchard farmers by those guys in the Guard Squad."
The Earl Swynborne exchanged a glance, then waved their hands and said:
"If Christine hadn't told us this herself, I probably would never have believed that the Elven Guard of the Padesto Guard Squad would collude with Slave Traders."
"On one side are the Elven Guard maintaining local order, and on the other side are Half-Elf. Yet, these two groups managed to collude to sell Half-Elf slaves..."
"... So when Christine told me about your attendance at the ball, I was really looking forward to meeting you all."
Earl Swynborne continued:
"I want to find the two guys who captured Christine, but the Elf Warrior don't recognize the Benjamin the Mage and Abbott, so I'd like to ask you guys for help. You don't need to do anything else, just identify them during the screening process."
Roy, Sabrina, and Woods exchanged glances.
The Elf Academy is currently still holding classes, but wilderness survival training will begin early next month.
Roy hesitated for a moment before saying, "The academy is about to start a month-long wilderness survival training program. If we don't pass this course, we might have wasted the rest of the semester's courses."
Earl Swynborne gave a reassuring gesture, then said to Roy:
"I have already submitted my application to the academy, and it will be approved soon. Then you and the rest of you can go to Padesto City. Also, there is absolutely no need to worry about safety."
Upon hearing Earl Swynborne's words, Roy and Woods immediately replied, "We are at your service, Earl Swynborne."
Earl Swynborne nodded in satisfaction:
"Then I hope you have a wonderful evening."
Afterwards, they chatted about other topics, and the Earl Swynborne exchanged a few words before leaving.
Christine said somewhat angrily, "Roy, Woods, if you two don't want to go to Padesto City, I can talk to him. Actually, you two don't need to listen to him..."
"We'll think about it some more and give you an answer tomorrow."
Roy and Woods exchanged a glance and said.
Almost all the guests at the open-air ball that evening were dressed in their finest attire; fortunately, Magic Inscription Construct were allowed at such balls.
Roy was wearing a set of Magic Inscription Construct, while Sabrina and Woods were dressed more plainly.
Christine pulled the three of them along, introducing them to her Silver Moon Elf friends.
Roy could actually see the perfunctory attitude in Christine's friends' eyes. If it weren't for Christine's presence, they wouldn't even bother to look at them properly. In front of Christine, they behaved politely... but each and every one of them had such fake, stiff smiles.
However, some curious Silver Moon Elf would come up and chat with Roy for a bit.
Basically, they're all testing each other...
Roy wasn't very famous at the Elf Academy, but his best friend Klayr was a prominent figure there, known as the youngest and most talented musician.
Some students from the Elf Academy had seen Roy before and came over to greet him.
Roy never expected to see Sherry and Martina, two senior students from the Elf Academy, at this ball...
No matter where the ball is, these Silver Moon Elf beauties will never be turned away, especially those wearing an Elf Academy robe, who are even more popular.
They wore daring ball gowns and even had some makeup on, looking completely immersed in the ball's atmosphere.
"What are you doing here?" Roy asked as he walked over to greet them.
Sherry and Martina were also somewhat surprised and asked further:
"That's exactly what we wanted to ask you. And where's Wagner Klayr? We haven't seen him!"
Roy quickly explained, "I was invited by Miss Christine; Klayr didn't come."
"You actually know Miss Christine Swynborne?" Sherry asked in surprise.
Then Sherry and Martina exchanged a glance...
They both wanted the other to cover for them...
Roy said, "We're in the same Adventure Group."
Sherry was a little surprised at how lucky Roy always was, with his friends being the best Silver Moon Elf... Wagner Klayr, Edith Ellington, and now Christine Swynborne.
Sherry extended her fair little hand and asked Roy, "Aren't you going to ask me to dance?"
After hearing what the other party said, Roy had no way to refuse...
Roy gestured for her to join him, then took Sherry's hand and led her into the Dance Floor, where they joined the Dance Floor.
As the music started, the two chatted quietly while dancing.
Everyone moved in unison, creating a lively scene.
Every time the two approached and brushed past each other, Sherry would lightly brush Roy's shoulder with her own, not only giving Roy a hint but also creating a sense of pressure.
She would occasionally deliberately touch Roy's knee with her leg...
After the dance was finally over, Roy helped Sherry back to her seat and then politely left...
To be honest, he didn't like this Silver Moon Elf, who was like a total green tea bitch.
After the ball, the three of them stayed overnight at the Ma Tie Manor.
The next morning, Roy asked the butler for a carriage, planning to leave the manor in the morning so he could return to the Goddess of Freedom Temple of Goddess of Freedom Temple in Castleton City by noon and make up for half a day's work there.
The carriage soon stopped at the entrance of the manor.
Miss Christine, upon hearing that they were leaving the manor in the morning, immediately chased after them.
Miss Christine stood in front of the carriage, panting, and said again:
"I didn't expect him to invite you to Padesto City. If you don't want to go but don't want to refuse him in person, I'll talk to him."
Seeing Miss Christine's extremely serious expression, Roy quickly waved his hand:
"No, I want to go."
Woods, who was standing nearby, quickly added, "I want to go too."
"Me too," Sabrina finally said.
Although she couldn't understand why Roy and Woods were so eager to go to Padesto City, Miss Christine still agreed...
Roy and Woods boarded the carriage first, followed by Christine and Sabrina after a hug.
Roy's plan to go to Padesto City is to capture Benjamin and Abbott.
Woods' desire to return to Padesto City was also to try and find the elders he had lost contact with.
