Earl Swynborne
Around noon, the butler personally invited Roy and his two companions to lunch at the restaurant.
The restaurant inside the manor is actually a separate building, with three long corridors connecting this square, pointed-roof building, which has a bit of a Gothic style.
The restaurant was very spacious, with six rows of tables nearly a hundred meters long. Fruit was placed at intervals, and elven maids carried exquisite teapots. Some elven maids even carried Elf Biscuit and... cakes.
This was the first time Roy had ever seen a cake at an elven banquet; even the bakeries in Castleton didn't have one.
The cake, covered in cream, gleamed with an enticing sheen.
The dining style at this restaurant is such that as soon as you sit down, an elven maid will come up to ask what you want to eat, and it will be served quickly, without having to wait for other guests to dine together...
The restaurant was only about half full, but more and more customers kept coming in.
Roy chose a piece of cake, a croissant, and a cup of Lemon Tea. These unfamiliar foods surprised Sabrina and Woods, who looked at Roy's plate curiously, wondering what he was eating.
Sabrina and Woods chose rather conservative foods. They first observed what fruits the other Silver Moon Elf had selected. Woods pointed to several rare fruits in the fruit platter and whispered to Sabrina, "I've eaten this fruit before; it tastes quite good. It should be rare to find around Castleton City..."
They also chose honey fruit tea.
On Roy's plate was a slice of cake. The cake itself consisted of only three thin layers, with fresh fruit and jam in the middle, and a very thin layer of cream on the outside. This was probably a flavor that had been specially modified for elves.
The cake wasn't very sweet, and it was slightly sour, but mixed with the long-lost taste of cream, that flavor... Roy felt like it had been a lifetime ago.
The croissant was indeed filled with Apple Jam and even had a faint aroma of alcohol. However, it was cloyingly sweet. If it weren't for the Lemon Tea next to him, Roy probably wouldn't have been able to eat such a sweet bread.
"Miss Christine guessed you would like it. It's a pastry chef specially brought in from Buenos. It seems you really enjoy this kind of food!"
The butler came up from behind at just the right moment and added another piece of cake to Roy's empty plate.
It's clear Roy doesn't like croissants, so he didn't take one.
Roy then realized that it was true; none of the elves dining around him would eat the cake.
"This cake is delicious..." Roy said.
"Have the pastry chef bake another cake and send it to Roy and the others' room," a sweet voice said.
Miss Christine wore a white tulle dress and an exquisite wheat-shaped headband on her forehead. She had no other decorations, and it was as if a layer of dazzling light surrounded her body. Roy felt that she looked more like a princess than Princess Ophelia.
Miss Christine sat down next to Sabrina, and her arrival immediately became the focus of the restaurant.
Almost all eyes were on her.
Thank you for coming to this ball.
Miss Christine wore a faint smile and secretly winked at Sabrina.
"We also want to thank you for all the careful preparations you've made."
"This afternoon, my father would like to invite everyone to afternoon tea in the garden over there," Miss Christine said to the three of them.
"Oh, we were just about to pay our respects to Earl Swynborne."
Roy said to Miss Christine with a smile.
The restaurant was too crowded, so Miss Christine only sat there for a short while before hurriedly leaving to greet the other guests.
After lunch, Roy, Sabrina, Woods returned to their respective rooms to rest for a while.
Soon it was time for afternoon tea. The butler was waiting for Roy and his two companions at the door. Knowing that the Earl Swynborne wanted to see three young men, he became even more respectful.
He led the three to a Silver Meadow where there was a white sunshade with some chairs underneath.
The table was set with various fruits and fruit teas, many of which were rare varieties that the three young people had never seen before.
Miss Christine was already waiting there. She stood up and kindly invited the three of them to sit down.
A beautiful Silver Moon Elf maidservant stood behind Roy, considerately pulling out a chair for him and pouring him a cup of tea.
As she bent down to pour tea, she almost leaned against Roy, exuding a sweet fragrance.
Roy felt a little embarrassed and leaned back as much as possible. When he turned to look at Woods, he found that Woods was just as awkward as he was.
When Roy looked at Miss Christine, Christine winked at him slyly, as if she had been caught playing a prank...
"Sabrina, try this jelly. It's made with berries and has a little honey in it."
Miss Christine had a maid serve Sabrina a delicate pastry.
Woods sat down in his chair, looked around to make sure no one was watching, stretched slightly, and exclaimed to Miss Christine, "Christine, your estate is truly beautiful..."
"If you like, you can come and stay often, for as long as you like," Miss Christine said generously.
"Is this the Silver Pegasus Ranch?" Roy asked curiously.
"That was true before, but there aren't many Silver Pegasus kept here anymore. If you'd like to see them, I can give you a tour later, but I can't let you try riding them," Miss Christine said.
Earl Swynborne, carrying a cane, walked alone from the direction of the manor.
He possesses an aura of authority that makes him unforgettable at first glance.
He walked under the awning and sat down next to Miss Christine. He appeared very approachable, his movements simple yet meticulous, with a military air about him.
"Greetings, Earl Swynborne."
Roy and the other two stood up and greeted them.
Earl Swynborne smiled and nodded at Roy, saying cheerfully, "Let me guess, you're Roy!"
Roy nodded again.
Earl Swynborne smiled smugly, then said to Sabrina, "You are Sabrina..."
"You are Woods..."
Actually, it's not hard to guess their identities: Roy is Half-Elf who looks very much like a human, while Sabrina and Woods are both Half-Elf.
However, the Earl Swynborne's words made him seem very approachable.
After he sat down, he naturally became the focus of everyone's attention.
Earl Swynborne looked at Miss Christine with some affection, then said, "I just want Christine to see some of the outside world, the real world outside..."
He reached out and stroked Christine's silver hair, then said, "She just couldn't find a trustworthy Adventure Group, so she joined the Elf Academy Adventure Group."
I never expected a riot to break out on Parraram Island, nor did I imagine that those prisoners would swim to Pattington Island.
Pattington Island is home to over 30,000 Half-Elf. These prisoners, unfortunately, encountered Christine and Ji Jilu, two children. Although they had learned some self-defense techniques, they couldn't remain calm when actually facing the prisoners...
Earl Swynborne's gaze fell on Roy:
"When news of Christine's danger reached Castleton, we were all very worried."
Thank you for reaching out to Christine when she needed help the most. Your courageous actions have earned you the friendship of the Swynborne Family.
Christine said there was a magician among the prisoners?
"Hmm." Roy nodded.
Earl Swynborne rubbed his forehead and said with some doubt:
"But I checked the escape list of Parrham Island Prison, and there is no information on human mages on it!"
His gaze remained fixed on Roy, as if he knew that only Roy could answer the question.
Roy didn't hide anything and answered honestly, "He was a Slave Traders on the ship 'Golden Tangerine' named Benjamin, who captured some young elves in the Malaga Jungle."
He later evaded the massive manhunt and even found a companion named Abbott.
Abbott was once Novice Priest at the Goddess of Freedom Temple, and he has been on the run ever since he murdered my friend Jasper.
Neither of them were prisoners in the jail.
I guess they arrived on Pattington Island with the prisoners from the Golden Tangerine, probably involved in the Parraram Island prison break, because only the two of them had the ability to lead those prisoners out of Pallam Island.
These are things Roy has come to understand in the last few days.
After he said these words, the Earl Swynborne fell silent.
"..."
Earl Swynborne knew that the Slave Traders on the Golden Tangerine ship were capturing young elves in the Malaga Jungle, and even the Silver Pegasus Legion was sent out only after he signed off on it.
"It turns out that the mastermind behind this was actually the magician on the Golden Tangerine. This magician successfully carried out the prison break plan, which led to Christine's ordeal."
After saying this, Earl Swynborne sighed softly.
"And you are the commander of the Seventeenth Legion, dear Earl Winsborne." A graceful elven lady walked over from the direction of the manor.
Everyone turned their heads and caught a glimpse of the elven lady's beautiful profile...
She seemed to be cut from the same mold as Christine, except that she had a more mature, elfin charm than Christine.
Roy and his two companions quickly greeted the Countess again.
The elven lady embraced Miss Christine, and the elven maidservant quickly brought over a chair.
Often, the key to understanding things is to examine them repeatedly. By reviewing them multiple times, you can uncover the problems.
Roy, Sabrina, and Woods then recounted the events that had occurred on the island from beginning to end.
Miss Christine gave a bitter smile, a somewhat stiff one.
That experience was something she least wanted to recall, and it was also a little embarrassing. At the time, in the woods, her clothes had been pulled up to her stomach, and it was Roy who helped her pull them up. Just thinking about it made her blush, and she secretly glanced at Roy.
But that guy was looking down, and I don't know what he was thinking.
