Relf's Death
In just a few days, the Black Pearl underwent a significant change. A type of vine grew on both sides of the ship. This vine was unaffected by the wind and waves, but strangely, the main root of the vine would tremble violently whenever its leaves or roots were touched.
Woods calls this ivy "Fear-Fear Vine," and it grows deep in the dense forests of the southern part of the Elf Continent.
Woods used the power of nature to accelerate its growth, and in just five days, the hull was completely covered with a layer of these vines.
The top of the Black Pearl's Ship Building is where Woods cultivates some plants; eighteen Light Flower are placed here.
Woods even built a rain shelter. Roy had told him that if the Black Pearl were to sail at sea in the future, a sunroom should be built so that they could eat vegetables while at sea.
Every day, Woods uses the power of nature to perform a ritual called ' Life Awakening ' on the mainmast.
It looked very ceremonial, and Roy soon noticed that the main mast was wet with water stains that were flowing from the heartwood and felt sticky to the touch, like glue.
Woods crouched down in front of the mast, sniffed it, and turned to Roy was standing behind him, and said, "This mast has shown some signs of life, but it may need a drop of the Spring of Life to fully bring it back to life."
"I've heard of the Tree of Life Sap, and it can be obtained in Castleton City, but where can I get the Spring of Life?" Roy asked, somewhat puzzled.
Woods blinked, realizing for the first time that Roy didn't seem like a resident of the Elf Continent at all.
"The three royal cities of the Elf Continent — Buenos of the Silver Moon Elf Kingdom, Inohaus of the Dark Moon Elf Kingdom, and Darnassus of the Wood Elf Kingdom —all Spring of Life. However, to obtain the Spring of Life, one must be a member of the Silver Moon Elf royal family," Woods said.
Roy slapped his forehead; he'd never even been to Buenos ...
Can it be bought on the Underground Market?
Woods spread his hands, shook his head, and said, "I don't know."
Roy glanced at the mainmast, which had shown a faint glimmer of life, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "We can try our luck, but how much Spring of Life would it take to revive this mainmast?"
"Just one drop will do," Woods said. "Actually, it's okay even without the Spring of Life. The wound has already healed, and the heartwood is no longer a dead tree; it's like it's asleep."
Only after hearing Woods say that did Roy finally feel relieved.
Tiffany stood behind them, their fingers intertwined, looking somewhat hesitant.
After Roy and Woods finished discussing the mainmast, they turned to look at Miss Tiffany.
"Roy, can I go to the Pattington Plane with you?" Tiffany asked cautiously.
"Of course you can, but if you're too far from the sea, can your body handle it?" Roy felt that a fish out of water wouldn't live long.
"If you're prepared, there won't be any problem. I've wanted to travel around on land for a long time," Miss Tiffany said happily when she saw Roy readily agree.
She had lived on this ship for more than four months and really wanted to go out and explore.
Seeing Miss Tiffany's eagerness, Roy said, "Alright then, we'll be heading to the Pattington Plane next week. We'll need to take a ship from Castleton Harbour to Pattington Island first, and then use the teleportation portal to reach Padesto City. Woods and I will call you before we leave."
The instructors are going to Hudi Island to be in charge of the various assessment items for the field practice course, so they can't get away to go to Padesto.
Initially, only Roy, Woods, and Sabrina went to Padesto City. Later, Klayr joined them, and now Miss Tiffany has joined as well. The group heading to the Pattington Plane is constantly growing.
Roy looked up at the Light Flower on the roof of the Ship Building and said with some worry, "Woods, what will happen to these Light Flower while we're gone?"
"It's fine to keep them on the Ship Building, but you'll need to find someone to water them regularly. I really don't understand why these flowers always look wilted the day after you take them away. Roy, are you sure you haven't done anything too outrageous to these Light Flower?"
After saying that, Woods stared intently at Roy.
"What nonsense are you talking about? I didn't do that!"
Roy responded somewhat angrily.
Relf, the Gray Dwarf, poked his head out of the sea and vigorously wiped the seawater off his face.
He felt that if he continued to soak in the sea, he would soon become a salted fish, and under the scorching sun, his body would surely be covered in Sea Salt.
Looking at the Sea Wolf from afar, he longed to drag the large ship into the sea.
Now the ship is covered in greenery, and he longs to tear the vines off his precious ship, but he can't yet...
He knew that a Naga mermaid lived on the ship, but the mermaid was very alert, and she would wake up immediately every time he tried to get close.
The room had two windows, and whichever window you opened, you could immediately escape into the sea.
He didn't want to alert the enemy, so he didn't make a move.
As Captain Relf pondered how to reclaim the Sea Wolf, he suddenly felt a chill creeping over him, as if he were being watched by a venomous snake.
He turned sharply to look into the sea and saw an ugly face suddenly emerge from the depths of the ocean. A Naga Warrior wielding a long spike twisted his fish tail and charged towards Captain Relf like an arrow.
Naga men and Naga women are two completely extreme forms of existence.
The male Naga have faces that resemble those of a great demon from hell, with bluish-purple faces covered in scales, and they are even unable to make a smiling expression.
Female Naga are also known as mermaids; they are almost the embodiment of beauty. It is often said that the most beautiful race on land is the elf, and the most beautiful race in the sea is the mermaid. This statement excludes male Naga...
This Naga assassin was none other than Roy's old acquaintance, Xiu.
He knew Captain Relf; it was he who led a group of human crews to abduct women from their tribe.
Hatred began to grow little by little from that time, and what Xiu saw and heard on the Sea Wolf later brought his hatred for these humans to its peak.
He came to Castleton Harbour, not expecting to meet Captain Relf. He had come to visit Tiffany.
Unexpectedly, they ran into Captain Relf in the shallow waters.
He hid in a crevice in the seabed, silently observing his surroundings. Only after confirming that there were no of Captain Relf's accomplices around did he stealthily approach Captain Relf's feet.
However, he did not conceal the hatred in his eyes while at sea, which Captain Relf sensed.
Captain Relf dared not relax for a moment. He tilted his head back, took a deep breath, and then plunged into the sea.
He wore no armor, nor did he carry a warhammer; instead, he held a hand axe in his right hand.
Captain Relf was an excellent swimmer; he could paddle with both hands and swim nimbly underwater.
When Xiu saw Captain Relf dive into the sea, he didn't dare to get too close. Instead, he swam around Captain Relf, looking for the best opportunity to attack.
The two remained locked in this stalemate from evening until late at night.
Xiu is a Naga who lives in the sea. She can swim around in the sea without feeling tired, and when she is hungry, she can easily catch some fish and shrimp and stuff them into her stomach.
However, Captain Relf was not so lucky. Although he was full of energy, his body began to dehydrate after being in the sea for a long time. Moreover, he had not eaten or rested for a long time and kept diving into the sea to confront the Naga Warrior.
Captain Relf dared not swim toward the harbor shore and was stuck in place.
As night fell, the seawater gradually cooled.
Captain Relf also realized that if the stalemate continued, he would be the first to give out.
He wanted to rush forward and quickly eliminate the Naga Warrior, but he couldn't find an opportunity. Every time he tried to charge forward, the cunning Naga Warrior would dive into the sea and play hide-and-seek with him in the crevices of the rocks.
Captain Relf was so angry he wanted to smash all the rocks on the seabed to pieces...
At Tiffany and Woods's insistence, Roy agreed to grill the fish for them again.
Before the charcoal fire could even be lit, Sabrina and Moira ran aboard the Black Pearl. They even brought a few Blue Mackerel from the Fish Market, so the simple dinner turned into a barbecue feast.
Miss Tiffany even went out to sea herself to catch some scallops and oysters.
At the last barbecue, Roy made a simple garlic scallop dish, which showed Miss Tiffany that scallops could be eaten this way...
As night fell, everyone sat on the gunwale, chatting and laughing as they ate grilled fish.
When there are many people around, Moira will squat silently next to Roy.
She was already used to Roy's grilling style; with her helping out, Roy was saved a lot of trouble...
"Roy, did you hear that sound in the distance?"
Moira squatted by the grill at the bow of the ship, using tongs to transfer the roasted shellfish to a plate, as she spoke to Roy.
Roy calmed down and listened carefully to the sounds around him. Apart from the chatter on the deck, there was the sound of waves crashing one after another.
Roy shook his head...
"There seem to be two big fish over there, constantly splashing water."
Moira pointed to the sea and whispered to Roy.
"If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have forgotten, Tiffany, you need to dry some small fish in the next couple of days. There's nothing in Padesto City except fruit!" Roy shouted to Tiffany, who was sitting on the gunwale.
Tiffany drank some ale.
She has a low alcohol tolerance; a little alcohol will make her face turn red, and she will lose her elven form, revealing a long, tricolored fish tail from her skirt.
"Okay, I know, you're so long-winded..."
Tiffany was clearly drunk.
Seeing some seawater below the ship, she jumped directly from the seven or eight-meter-high side of the ship into the sea.
The moment she entered the water, Tiffany regained her senses. The water was only knee-deep at most, not nearly enough to cushion her fall. She might have ended up burying herself in the sand, or if she hit a rock, that would be Tiffany's bad luck...
Tiffany uttered a string of incantations, and before anyone could see how she drew the Magic Rune Array, a wave appeared beneath her body, dragging her towards the ocean.
The wave transformed into a water-shaped warhorse on the sea surface. Tiffany lay on the horse's back, being carried by the warhorse for dozens of meters.
Just as everyone was anxiously waiting for Tiffany to swim back, the sounds of fighting in the distance gradually became clearer.
Roy's expression changed slightly. He looked at Moira, Moira was gazing worriedly at the dark sea.
Without further hesitation, Roy stood up and rushed to the side of the boat, grabbed a vine on the side of the boat, and slid down the ivy vine.
Sabrina and Woods realized what was happening at sea, and Sabrina followed Roy's lead and slid down the edge of the boat.
Woods then leaped forward from the boat, directly into the sea. The instant he entered the water, Woods ' body transformed into a sea lion, smoothly diving into the ocean and charging ahead towards the source of the fighting.
Roy and Sabrina followed behind, swimming hard.
Moira stood on the boat, looking at the sea with a worried expression, almost crying, but she hesitated to go into the water...
Xiu never expected Tiffany to suddenly appear...
Her appearance instantly broke the stalemate, and Captain Relf seemed to have found an outlet for his emotions. With all his might, he swung his hand axe at Tiffany.
Tiffany turned pale with fright; she hadn't expected that her simple leap would cause such a huge problem.
Captain Relf was like a sea monster lurking in the darkness, suddenly appearing and baring his fangs...
Tiffany uttered a short incantation, slapping her hand on the neck of the water-form warhorse. Instantly, countless icy energies froze the warhorse into ice, and the ice horse rammed into Captain Relf was coming towards her.
Miss Tiffany jumped into the sea early on.
The axe struck the head of the ice crystal warhorse, shattering it into pieces, with countless ice fragments falling into the sea.
Captain Relf and beard turned completely white from the ice blast...
Captain Relf didn't dare pay any attention to Miss Tiffany. He turned around, raised his axe, and faced Xiu, who was rushing up from behind. However, he found that a layer of ice had formed on his body, and even his movements were much slower than usual.
If this were on land, Captain Relf would have completely ignored this ice magic.
But now that he's soaking in the seawater, which already makes it difficult for him to move around, being covered in a layer of ice makes it even more unbearable for him.
Captain Relf forced out his Battle Qi, shattering the ice shell on his body. As the ice shell crumbled, the Naga Warrior appeared behind Captain Relf, his spikes aimed at Captain Relf's neck.
Captain Relf was aware of this, but he couldn't exert much force in the sea...
What could have been a simple elbow strike was instead met with Captain Relf's gritted teeth as he reached out to grab the Naga Warrior's spikes.
The spike pierced Captain Relf's palm, and Xiu hugged Captain Relf's shoulders from behind, wrapping his body around Captain Relf.
Tiffany waved her hand and threw two ice arrows into the sea...
As the Naga Warrior embraced Captain Relf Captain Relf, two ice arrows pierced his shoulders.
Captain Relf, leading the Naga Warrior, swam vigorously towards the surface of the sea.
The Naga Warrior Xiu dragged Captain Relf along, pulling him forcefully towards the seabed...
Then, the ice shell, like a spider web, condensed and spread on the sea surface above Captain Relf's head, like a giant umbrella.
Captain Relf's face turned ashen; he was now completely exhausted, wrestling with the Naga in the sea, his body slowly sinking to the bottom...
Woods was the first to arrive at the battlefield and saw a Naga Warrior dragging a Gray Dwarf into the sea.
The Gray Dwarf kept spitting out bubbles, seemingly having swallowed a bellyful of seawater. The Gray Dwarf's hands were constantly grabbing at the sea, trying to find the last straw to save him.
Unfortunately, his strength to struggle was waning.
Woods swam to Miss Tiffany's side immediately and found that apart from being a little pale, she was otherwise perfectly normal.
However, the two were unable to communicate normally in the sea.
Roy and Sabrina arrived just in time, and Roy froze in the sea when he saw Captain Relf's face.
Captain Relf actually managed to escape from prison.
But having escaped from prison, it seems he's not doing too well; he has no armor and no weapons...
At this point, they are making a final, futile struggle.
Captain Relf never imagined that after a lifetime of being Slave Traders, he would end up being dragged to the bottom of the sea by a Naga Warrior and drowned.
