Return to Pattington
Roy floated on the sea, the night sky dotted with stars, the depths of the ocean like a dark Abyss Hell...
The nearby Castleton Harbour was brightly lit, and sailboats moored at the Deep Water Dock were still continuously unloading various supplies.
Roy and Sabrina weren't good swimmers, so they could only float on the surface of the sea and wait anxiously. They couldn't even see what was happening on the seabed.
The Naga Warrior dragged Captain Relf to the bottom of the sea. Captain Relf had a bloody hole pierced in his palm by spikes, and two ice arrows were stuck in his shoulder.
Although the Gray Dwarf are born with brute strength, they are trapped in the sea and cannot be as agile as they are on land. When fighting in close combat, they constantly pour seawater into their stomachs.
Xiu wanted to kill Captain Relf with his own hands, so he kept shoving Captain Relf against the seabed rocks.
Miss Tiffany and Woods also followed Xiu into the sea.
Then they saw a large cloud of blood mist appear in the sea, and Captain Relf had a long gash on his forehead from the impact, with blood gushing out continuously.
Even so, Xiu's arms remained tightly locked around Captain Relf's neck, and he didn't let go even though Ralph was too weak to struggle...
Miss Tiffany swam over and pointed towards the shore on the west side of Castleton Pier, indicating that Xiu should drag Captain Relf ashore.
Xiu nodded and, following Miss Tiffany's instructions, dragged the stiff Captain Relf ashore.
Roy and Sabrina breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Miss Tiffany and Woods swim safely to the surface.
Then everyone helped Woods drag Captain Relf's body to the beach. His body was very strong, his belly was like a round ball, and seawater kept gushing out of his mouth.
When Xiu dragged him onto the beach, Roy discovered that his heartbeat and breathing had stopped.
His face was deathly pale from excessive blood loss...
Captain Relf was dressed only in the linen clothes that Half-Elf fishermen would wear, and his bare feet were covered in uneven wrinkles, probably from being soaked in the sea for too long.
"Is he Captain Relf?"
Sabrina approached from behind, looked at the Gray Dwarf's corpse, and asked Roy.
"Um."
Miss Tiffany said with some doubt, "Wasn't he locked up in Parrham Island Prison? How come he's here?"
Roy could only mention the riot that had occurred on Parraram Island some time ago. "There was a prison Parrham Island Prison a while ago, and I guess he escaped during that time."
"They've already escaped from prison, so why are they going back to Castleton Harbour? Are they trying to find the Black Pearl?" Miss Tiffany asked, somewhat puzzled.
Roy shook his head and said, "Maybe there was something else that attracted him, but unfortunately he's dead. Even if there were any secrets, they can only be buried with him in the coffin."
Although Roy said that, he was thinking about the Treasure Map and the Golden Key.
Near the rocks on the beach, Miss Tiffany and Xiu hid there and chatted in Naga Language for a while.
Miss Tiffany had just brought Xiu over, and compared to six months ago, Xiu had changed a lot. He had two more thorns on his shoulders, the spines on his back had become more prominent, and his body had become much stronger.
After fighting Captain Relf for so long in the sea, Xiu's strength was far inferior to Captain Relf's. Fortunately, they were at sea, and Captain Relf Captain Relf hadn't even had a decent weapon in his hands during their long stalemate...
Xiu was wearing scale armor and holding two sharp spikes in his hands, giving him a significant advantage in terms of weaponry.
Even so, Captain Relf still managed to scratch Xiu's arm when he retaliated.
"Roy, Xiu's arm is injured, can you help treat it?"
Miss Tiffany stepped forward and pleaded.
"Okay, come over here and let me take a look..." Roy beckoned to Xiu and said.
This Naga assassin was still a bit reserved. The upper body of a Naga is similar to that of an elf, but the body is covered with fine scales. The fish tail of the lower body is more than two feet long, and when it walks, it is like a snake, able to glide back and forth on the beach.
Of course, this wasn't the first time Xiu and Roy had dealt with each other. The Holy Scepter and crystal ball in Roy's hand were gifts from Xiu.
And there are so many Nightmare Vine...
"The injury on my arm isn't too serious. With a little treatment and bandaging, it will heal quickly."
Roy examined Xiu's wound, cast Minor Healing, and then spoke to Xiu.
Xiu couldn't understand Elven Language, so Miss Tiffany sat beside him and helped translate.
Captain Relf died on the West Beach Castleton Harbour.
Roy ran to the port Guard Squad and told the Elven Guard on duty about it.
The Elven Guard on duty reported the matter to the elven captain, and soon two more Elven Guard rushed over...
Roy was squatting on the beach, talking to the corpse of a Gray Dwarf: "If you had stayed put in the Parrham Island Prison, you might have lived another hundred years. Why did you sneak out? Now you've lost your life..."
"... Even if you escaped, you should at least try to go home! What are you doing back here?"
The two Elven Guard standing behind Roy were utterly exasperated.
The Elven Guard came to this side of the beach mainly to verify Captain Relf's identity.
"It's Captain Relf escaped from prison. Write a report and submit it to the higher-ups tomorrow morning so that the arrest warrants for Captain Relf can be withdrawn from all the Guard Squad," one of the Elven Guard instructed.
The other Elven Guard quickly replied, "Yes, Captain."
Then, the elven Guard Captain said to Roy, "Roy, we will submit the application for the Bounty Reward on the wanted poster later, and I will notify you when it is issued."
"Okay," Roy replied.
The elven Guard Captain then said:
"If there's nothing else, let's go!"
Roy stood alone on the beach, somewhat dumbfounded.
He had assumed the Elven Guard would take Captain Relf's body away, but now... the Elven Guard were preparing to leave, but they didn't want to take Captain Relf's body with them.
"Wait, what should we do with Captain Relf's body?" Roy asked hurriedly.
The elven Guard Captain stopped, turned to Roy, and smiled slightly, "The bounty on the wanted poster is yours, and you can dispose of this body as well..."
The Elven Guard took only Captain Relf's beard, leaving the entire body on the beach, and leisurely returned to the Guard Squad.
Sabrina, Woods, Miss Tiffany, Xiu, and Moira hid on the Black Pearl until the Elven Guard returned to Castleton Harbour, at which point they all ran out of the ship.
Roy bent over and tied several pieces of sea rock to the body of Relf's boat, preparing to sink Captain Relf's body into the sea.
Woods came over to help without saying a word.
However, the beach was full of rocks, and it was low tide, so Captain Relf's ropes and clothes kept getting caught on the rocks, making it very difficult to drag him.
The two of them dragged it for more than ten meters before they had to abandon the sea burial plan.
"Roy, what do we do?" Woods hesitated for a moment and asked in a low voice.
He was actually thinking that if all else failed, he could transform into a giant bear, which would make it easy to drag the dwarf's corpse into the sea...
Roy said, "If that won't work, then let's cremate him on the spot and scatter his ashes into the sea..."
The two then went to the dense thicket near the cliff and collected two large bundles of dry branches.
Sabrina and Moira also went to help, and soon they piled up a large wooden bed. Roy, Woods, and Hugh worked together to drag Captain Relf onto the pile of firewood, and then Roy personally lit the fire.
The flames slowly rose, and soon the fire engulfed the corpses on the Relf ship.
The pile of firewood burned for a long time, until it was all reduced to ashes, and the sea began to rise steadily...
The waves kept crashing against the now-extinguished campfire, and some of the dark red charcoal still made a 'sizzling' sound.
Soon, the ashes and charcoal were swept away by the waves and dissolved into the sea.
There were only some grayish-white bones on the beach, which crumbled at the slightest touch.
The group worked until very late before leaving the West Beach.
At dawn, just as the sky was beginning to lighten, Roy arrived at the West Suburb Graveyard.
The morning mist had not yet dissipated, and the wild grass on both sides of the Mountain Road was covered with dew. The hillside forest was shrouded in mist, as if one had entered some unknown secluded fairyland.
Roy walked along the Mountain Road for a long time before finally finding Jasper's tombstone. He took out a few apples from his Magic Pouch and arranged them neatly in front of the grave.
He sat down in front of the cypress tree, looking at the grave where a patch of green grass had grown, and Roy casually remarked:
"Jasper, Captain Relf was killed by Xiu last night. We burned him to ashes and scattered his ashes into the sea. I guess his soul will go to hell."
"I'm planning to go to Padesto City the day after tomorrow. I hope this Padesto -wide manhunt will find Benjamin and Abbott..."
"I will personally send them to the Elder Council for trial."
"The Goddess of Freedom Temple hasn't received the notice of rescission yet. High Priest Reed and I are both waiting for the notice. I don't really want to go to the Dark Land, so I probably won't be able to see the scenery there for you."
Roy rambled on and on until it got light, and then they walked up the steps toward the cemetery exit.
On the steps, Roy unexpectedly bumped into Miss Tiffany, who was walking towards him.
Roy waited on the steps for quite a while before seeing Miss Tiffany come down the steps with red eyes...
Roy managed to buy a ticket for the ferry to Pattington Island on Monday morning.
The group met in front of the Deep Water Pier at Castleton Harbour in the morning. Roy, Woods, Sabrina, Klayr, and Miss Tiffany boarded the ship with their tickets.
The ship sailed at sea for most of the day and successfully arrived at the small pier on Pattington Island.
Roy led everyone out of the dock, but instead of following Instructor Nora's example, he rented a carriage and drove to the Pattington Town.
He led everyone on a hike into the mountain crevice, and soon they entered the Pattington Town.
The Teleportation Portal pass was provided by Earl Swynborne, and Roy didn't plan to stay on Pattington Island. He went straight to the town's central square, and sure enough, the Teleportation Portal was still transporting crates of supplies to Padesto.
There were no large quantities of supplies piled up in the central square. After all the supplies arrived at Pattington Island, they were quickly sent to the Pattington Plane.
"It just so happens to be a teleportation to Padesto. Let's take this opportunity to go directly through the Teleportation Portal, saving us from having to stay here for another night," Roy said to the others.
No one had any objections.
Roy then took the Teleportation Certificate to the Teleportation Portal guard and showed it to him.
The Teleportation Portal guards were actually wearing standard military uniforms. Upon seeing the Teleportation Pass, they immediately said respectfully to Roy, "Please wait here for a moment. We need to do a final check."
The Teleportation Portal guard spoke very politely, and Roy naturally had no reason to refuse.
The team members waited for a while in the rest area next to the Teleportation Portal. Klayr and Tiffany were both visiting Pattington Island for the first time and were incredibly curious about the Pattington Town...
Before long, the Teleportation Portal guard finally signaled that they could pass through the Teleportation Portal. To Roy's surprise, he saw Miss Christine, carrying Battle Shortbow, standing at the Teleportation Portal, waving to everyone.
"Christine, are you going to Padesto too?" Roy walked over and asked.
Christine said matter-of-factly:
"Of course, I will be in charge of communicating with the military next, and I have also met the Benjamin the Mage, so I can be of help."
Unable to linger at the Teleportation Portal for long, everyone stepped into Teleportation Portal magical vortex.
This time, Roy didn't react as strongly when crossing the Teleportation Portal.
After exiting the Teleportation Portal, everyone arrived safely at the Central Square of Padesto City. The square was surrounded by Elf Warrior, clearly indicating that this was a special area under military control.
A young officer walked towards them, and Miss Christine immediately went to greet him. After a brief exchange, the officer led Roy and his party to the edge of the square, where a row of carriages were parked. The officer casually opened the door of one of the carriages and invited everyone to sit inside.
"We'll stay at the same hotel as last time..." Miss Christine said to everyone.
Klayr stared at Miss Christine and asked cautiously, "Are you Miss Christine Swynborne?"
"Yes, you are that person?"
"Wagner ... Wagner Klayr, I'm from the Klayr family," Klayr quickly introduced herself.
"No wonder it looked familiar..."
Miss Christine responded politely and extended her hand to shake Klayr's.
The carriage passed through the Padesto City. The once bustling streets were now deserted, and the boulevards were quiet. Every now and then, a small military patrol would pass by. Most of the shops on both sides of the street were not open for business.
The Half-Elf Rebel Army that appeared some time ago scared away all the merchants and Adventure Group in the city.
Many Half-Elf also took the opportunity to leave Padesto City, resulting in the loss of nearly two-thirds of the city's elves in the past two months...
