Ships at the Port
Adventure Group arrived in the Central Square of Padesto City with a herd of argali sheep, attracting the attention of many elves.
Since the Teleportation Portal was sealed, only military merchant groups have been allowed to freely enter and exit the Teleportation Portal in Padesto City. The presence of Adventure Group like this in Padesto City was already quite conspicuous, but now they were leading a caravan of argali sheep. The elves in the city all wanted to know how this Adventure Group would manage to get through the Teleportation Portal.
As the Adventure Group walked down the street, some elves followed behind them.
Some elves even approached Roy and asked, "Are you going back to the Elf Continent? Can you take me with you? If you're willing to take me, I can pay a toll."
Roy immediately declined politely.
Although he had obtained Earl Swynborne's permission, it did not mean that they could take advantage of this to arbitrarily bring Half-Elf to the Elf Continent.
Leishande and Langbo were also in the Adventure Group team.
They couldn't go through the Teleportation Portal, but they needed to drive the argali sheep carrying supplies back to the inn.
Although Padesto City is still under partial lockdown, most shops in the city have resumed business. It can be said that under the current military control, the order in Padesto City is better than ever before.
There are many outsiders in the city like Leishande and Langbo, and as long as they don't break the local laws, the Elven Guard generally ignore them.
The management of outsiders in Padesto City is much more relaxed than in Rampart Town.
Leishande led a argali sheep, following behind Roy. The bundles of Magic Herbs on the sheep's back were not concealed at all, and they walked directly to the Central Square.
Upon seeing an Adventure Group arrive in the plaza with a caravan, the two Teleportation Portal guards quickly approached to greet Adventure Group.
"Stop for a second, where did you come from?"
An Elven Guard placed his hand on the hilt of the sword hanging at his waist and asked Leishande in an arrogant manner.
He probably thought that since Leishande was the oldest member of the Adventure Group, he was naturally also the leader of the Adventure Group.
Roy stepped forward, took out the Teleportation Pass that Earl Swynborne had given him, and handed it to the Elven Guard.
"We are Adventure Group from Castleton City, and we want to return to Pattington Island. This is our Teleportation Pass."
The Elven Guard held the Teleportation Pass but didn't rush to look at it. He circled the caravan, where bundles of Magic Herbs were tied to the argali sheep without any attempt to conceal them.
"Are you planning to take these Magic Herbs back to the Elf Continent?" the Elven Guard asked.
"Yes..."
Roy was about to explain when an Elven Guard leaned over and whispered a few words to his companion who was holding the Teleportation Pass. The Elven Guard's serious and arrogant expression immediately disappeared. He quickly flipped open the Teleportation Pass and looked at it. The striking and glaring red stamp seemed to pierce his heart instantly.
The Elven Guard couldn't help but think to himself, 'If they had a connection with Earl Swynborne, why didn't they say so sooner!'
"Alright, since you have Teleportation Pass, you can go over there and queue up. There's a shipment of supplies that's being transported back to Pattington Island, so you can join the rear of that supply Transport Team." The Elven Guard quickly changed the subject.
He turned and pointed to the area in the Central Square where a large amount of supplies were piled up.
"... Oh, okay!"
Roy immediately agreed.
Unexpectedly, the permit was obtained so easily. Leishande and his son Langbo exchanged a glance, and half of their worries were relieved.
The Adventure Group unloaded the dozen or so bundles of Magic Herbs onto the Central Square.
Roy then instructed Leishande and Langbo to leave the Central Square with the argali sheep and wait for news at the hotel.
The elves watching from the Central Square were all talking about who this Adventure Group was, that they were able to bring a batch of Magic Herbs through the Teleportation Portal!
Some Half-Elf even curiously approached to ask if the ban on the Pattington Plane had been lifted. The answer was undoubtedly very frustrating; the lifting of the ban was still a long way off. The reason this Adventure Group was able to freely enter and Pattington Plane was because they had military status; they belonged to an unofficial team of the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion.
Obviously, this answer did not satisfy everyone, but the teleportation guard refused to say another word about it.
Roy's Adventure Group thus successfully left the Pattington Plane.
It was already evening in the Pattington Plane, but they arrived at Pattington Island in the morning. Roy didn't even have time to adjust to the time difference. He rented a carriage on Pattington Island and transported the batch of Magic Herbs directly to the island's dock. They still needed to take the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion's supply Supply Ship back to Castleton City.
Since the war in the Pattington Plane had long since ended, the Pattington Plane was basically self-sufficient in its production.
Therefore, the Supply Ship ships of the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion are gradually reducing their frequency.
When I arrived at the dock, there was a ship preparing to leave the port.
Roy quickly jumped off the carriage, ran to the dock, and waved to the crew members...
This ship was not Supply Ship of the Seventeenth Legion, but a transport ship from Pattington Island. Roy wanted to take these Magic Herbs back to Castleton City, so he not only needed to buy tickets per person, but also had to pay a transportation fee for the Magic Herbs.
After paying the freight, the crew will be responsible for carrying the supplies into the cargo hold, and the Adventure Group members will board the ship.
Set sail and embark on your journey!
It has been about six weeks since I left Castleton.
When everyone stood on the deck and could see the Silver Moon Elf statue atop Castleton City, a group of young people cheered simultaneously.
Moira, in particular, was so moved that she almost burst into tears...
Klayr also seemed very excited, standing at the front of the deck, holding onto the railing with both hands, her face beaming with joy.
The ship broke through the waves and headed toward Castleton Harbour.
Today, the Black Pearl is covered with green vines, and the top of the Ship Building is lush and verdant. The Lookout Platform on the mainmast is supported by umbrella-shaped tree canopies, making it look more like a rocky outcrop on the seashore from a distance...
"We've had quite a good haul this time, Roy. What are you going to do with these Magic Herbs?" Klayr asked Roy.
"I plan to try selling them to the magic Potion Shop in town; someone will want them." Roy was quite confident about this. Now that he had brought these Magic Herbs back, he planned to first try selling them to Mrs. Winnie's house.
"Do you need my help?" Klayr asked in a low voice.
"Not yet, let me try it first!" Roy replied.
Roy wanted to continue trading in Magic Herbs, so he needed not only to establish transportation routes but also sales channels. He couldn't let Klayr have to rely on her family connections every time a shipment arrived.
Just as the ship was about to enter the harbor, Roy noticed a large starship moored on the Deep Water Pier. The flags flying on it were completely different from those in the Elven Kingdom. Roy could see the sword, shield, and eagle-lion on the flags, and the ship's shape was also different from the Elven style.
This Great Sea Ship looks a lot like the Black Pearl, and its deck is filled with all sorts of supplies.
Upon entering the port, they indeed saw the faces of human crew members on the ships. These crew members were wearing the same style of leather armor and were busy moving supplies on the deck of the large ship.
Because of the cautionary tale of the Black Pearl, Roy was not very trusting of ships with human crews.
After docking, while waiting for the crew to move the Magic Herbs to the pier, they hired a carriage to transport the Magic Herbs to the Black Pearl.
Six weeks after they left, no one visited the Black Pearl. The magical traps that Miss Tiffany and Woods had set up before they left were not triggered. There was only a lot of bird droppings on the deck.
Klayr stored all the Magic Herbs in the Black Pearl's cabin and then left without waiting.
After storing all the Magic Herbs, Roy, Sabrina, and Moira returned to their home on Brown Street. Ms. Belinda was not home, and the house was still arranged as Roy had left it, only covered with a layer of dust.
Roy retrieved several letters from Ms. Belinda from the mailbox.
In her reply, Ms. Belinda said that she and several friends were currently traveling in the Wood Elf Kingdom and had no plans to return for the time being.
Now, Ms. Belinda is a sculptor of some renown. She has been traveling for over a year, sending Roy a letter from each place she visits, introducing the local customs and her reflections on her journey.
It's clear that Ms. Belinda enjoys this kind of life.
Unfortunately, Roy couldn't reply to her, because by the time the letter was mailed back, Ms. Belinda had already left.
Besides Ms. Belinda's letter, there was also a letter from High Priest Reed. I thought the previous letter was the last one, but I didn't expect him to send it back from Gorfito.
The first thing Roy did when he got home was to fill the water tank on the rooftop terrace so he could take a shower in the bathroom...
Lying in the bathtub, Roy took out his dagger and opened the envelope:
"Roy, when I stepped through the Darkness Gate, all I saw was an endless expanse of scorched earth. There was no sunlight, no green vegetation; the land was cleaved by River of Lava, and the only light here was the firelight from those River of Lava. Poisonous fumes permeated the land. The path beneath our feet was forged with the lives of the advance team. The extreme environment has taken a toll on our bodies. Even now, in this Dark Land, I still cannot sense the presence of the Goddess."
Numerous Magic Creature have appeared on the front lines, and our Expeditionary Force is about to head to the battlefield. Only now do I understand why this place is called: Land Where Angels Never Tread. Because... there is no life here, no hope whatsoever.
Roy placed the letter aside; he didn't even need to close his eyes to imagine what the Dark Land looked like.
The next morning, Roy left home full of energy.
He planned to go to the Magic Shop in the city to inquire about the market price of Magic Herbs, and also to search for weapons and Light Armor at the trading companies.
When I got to the Cross Street Intersection to wait for the bus, I saw Mrs. Winnie standing in front of her shop, holding an account book in her hands.
Woods has actually returned to work at the Potion Shop.
At that moment, he and a shop assistant were carrying Wooden Box out of the shop and onto a horse-drawn carriage.
Roy waved to Woods as a greeting.
"Roy, I heard from Woods that you brought back a batch of herbs from the Pattington Plane. Are you planning to sell them?" Mrs. Winnie's voice was high-pitched and thin.
"Yes, Mrs. Winnie, would your magic Potion Shop like to purchase some herbs?" Roy quickly replied.
Mrs. Winnie was very good at business, especially at negotiating prices.
"I wouldn't mind if you sold me your Magic Herbs, but there's a better sales channel right now. A Great Sea Ship has arrived at the port and has been buying up Magic Herbs in large quantities in Castleton City these past few days. Many Potion Shop are selling their Magic Herbs directly to them, which is more profitable than painstakingly brewing potions," Mrs. Winnie said. "If you also have a batch of Magic Herbs, I suggest you go and talk to them..."
"You're not going to resell these Magic Herbs in your boxes to those people, are you?" Roy asked, pointing to the Wooden Box Woods was carrying.
"That's exactly what we're going to do..." Mrs. Winnie said.
Woods and the shop assistants had already loaded all the Wooden Box onto the flatbed cart. Mrs. Winnie then called to Woods to watch the shop, while Mrs. Winnie hurried toward the docks...
A Long Carriage was approaching from a distance, and Roy climbed into the carriage once it came to a stop.
The streets of the Lower District were as bustling as ever. As the Long Carriage passed through this section of the street, Roy saw the dazzling array of fruits displayed on the stalls.
Roy got off the car at the entrance of the Magic Guild, walked into the lobby on the first floor of the Magic Guild, and went to the magic Potion Shop where he had sold Nightmare Vine last time. He pushed open the door and went in, only to find that although the Potion Shop was full of magic potions, most of the shelves in the Magic Herbs sales area were empty.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" a kind elven waitress in the Potion Shop asked.
"How much is your Royal Blood Grass?" Roy asked curiously.
"I'm sorry, most of the Magic Herbs are currently sold out. If you want to buy potions, our shop has the most complete selection!" the elven waitress replied.
Roy smiled and nodded without saying a word, casually asked about the prices of a few Magic Herbs, and then turned and left the shop.
Roy then visited several more magic Potion Shop.
Unsurprisingly, all the Magic Herbs in these Potion Shop were sold out. Just as Mrs. Winnie had said, a large buyer had appeared at the port and had already plundered the Castleton City.
Roy then went to the Trading Company to inquire about the prices of high-quality weapons and armor.
Only then did they return to Brown Street from the city.
