"Me, the Mine Owners of this spinel mine?"

Roy's thoughts were a bit jumbled. He rubbed his nose hard and asked Captain Jones.

Then he added, "I think it might not be a good idea. I don't have the ability to suppress those Gray Dwarf and elven prisoners in the mine. Although they are currently locked up in the mine, who knows when they will open a passage to escape? I am so young, I really don't have the ability to monitor the Underground Mine, nor can I control those Gray Dwarf and elven prisoners."

"We'll talk about that later. I think the mine is being managed quite well right now." Captain Jones chuckled somewhat unkindly. The Silver Moon Elf were fastidious, and none of them wanted to deal with these Gray Dwarf and Elven Prisoners.

Roy's performance in front of the mine made him feel that he could entrust the management of the mine to Roy. At least Roy could keep the mine running normally, which would be good enough.

This way, the elven prisoners and Gray Dwarf in the mine won't starve to death, but at least they'll have something to do down there...

Roy sat on the bench, feeling quite frustrated. Back in Padesto City, Earl Swynborne had sent him to the Cavalry Vanguard Regiment because he was familiar with the Pagisto Plateau; he had only intended to be a guide.

But once you arrive at the Pagisto Plateau, it's a completely different story.

He was forgotten by Commander Hekelis in the most inconspicuous corner of the Cavalry Vanguard Regiment...

After the Cavalry Vanguard Regiment captured the mine, he surprisingly became the mine's manager.

Captain Jones noticed the hesitation in Roy's eyes, so he stopped pressuring him, took a sip of the diluted Tree of Tree of Life Sap, and drank it.

Actually, in Captain Jones' eyes, Roy was quite good.

In the reconnaissance squad, Roy always performs reconnaissance missions exceptionally well. Although he is a newcomer, his abilities have already earned the recognition of the other Silver Moon Elf in the reconnaissance squad.

Everyone sees Roy differently...

Roy realized he wouldn't be able to return to Castleton anytime soon, and he leaned back in his chair, feeling somewhat helpless.

The climate on the Pagisto Plateau is terrible, with cold nights and scorching hot days, far less pleasant than the warm and humid Castleton.

In contrast, he prefers to live in Castleton.

Back then, he was just a figurehead as the governor of Rampart Town, and as for this Mine Owners, Roy had no interest in him.

Roy felt resistant, and Captain Jones gave a rather unkind smile, a smile that contained a hint of apology.

What normal elf would want to go to the plateau to become Mine Owners?

For a noble elf, this would be blasphemous. Roy's refusal to become Mine Owners shows that he is a good young man influenced by Elven.

But someone still has to do this job.

If Roy doesn't do it, Captain Jones thinks he'll probably be the one to do it.

He looked up at Roy, wondering how he could keep Roy calm.

He reached out and pushed the Tree of Life Sap in front of Roy, urging him to drink it quickly before the essence of life dissipated.

Captain Jones knew that the war on the Pagisto Plateau could last a long time, mainly because the main force of the Silver Pegasus Legion had other missions and was currently unable to enter the Pattington Plane. Without Silver Pegasus Warrior conquering territories on the plateau, the Cavalry Vanguard Regiment alone probably wouldn't be able to manage.

Earl Swynborne has his eye on the mines on the plateau and wants to seize them from the Mine Owners to fund the Silver Pegasus Legion.

He was determined to acquire these mines on the Pagisto Plateau.

Captain Jones and Roy sat in the restaurant and chatted for a long time. Sunlight slanted in through the windows, creating irregular patches of light on the gray floor.

This square fortress only allows sunlight to reach the top floor, making one feel that being able to bask in the sun regularly is a kind of enjoyment.

A team of Highland Headhunters lurked in the dimly lit crevice of the rocks, at the confluence of two mountain ranges, a place of treacherous terrain.

The tattoos on the Chieftain's face had a captivating Magic Power. He stared at the square fortress in the distance, a small blade of grass curled between his tongue, his brown eyes narrowed, like a venomous snake ready to devour its prey.

The Grantham mine owner was among them, wearing a fur that smelled of fish and salt. It was unclear whether the fur was moldy or if the headhunter had done something to the not-so-clean fur.

A gust of cold wind blew by, and he couldn't help but pull the edge of the fur to wrap it tightly around himself and preserve the last bit of warmth in his body.

He had never suffered like this since he owned a Spinel Mine.

Now, all he wanted was to get his things back, but seeing the fortress that blended almost seamlessly into the mountainside, he felt a tremor run through his entire body...

He planned to lead the group of Highland Headhunters through the Secret Passage outside the fortress at nightfall, sneaking inside and retaking the fortress in one fell swoop.

The wind blew against his face. He closed his eyes, feeling as if he were hanging on a cliff, unable to climb up or down...

Beside the Grantham mine owner stood a group of Highland Headhunters, their bodies pressed against the cold rocks, their eyes closed, emitting no scent whatsoever.

They were originally the owners of this plateau. Their bloodline is unknown. Some say they are the offspring of Half-Elf and an extinct plateau native, while others say they are a branch of the orcs.

They are cruel and bloodthirsty by nature; they are born hunters.

As night fell, the Chieftain finally opened his eyes again, glancing behind him at the Grantham mine owner, whose face was ashen from the cold.

The Grantham mine owner quickly stretched his body and groped forward in the darkness. He held onto the cold rock wall with both hands and stumbled out of the crevice.

They walked towards an inconspicuous stone wall ahead.

Behind him followed a group of Highland Slavers draped in furs. This large group of warriors moved forward without making a sound.

The secret door was ingeniously designed and covered with a thick layer of moss. Without the guidance of the Grantham mine owner, these Highland Headhunters would never have been able to find it.

After pushing open the hidden door, the Grantham mine owner was the first to go inside.

The dark passage was filled with a rotten smell. In the narrow passage, there was a square wooden support every half meter. The passage was low and narrow, and the only way to move Mine Road was to crawl on your knees.

For the Highland Headhunters, crouching and crawling forward was no difficult task. But the Grantham mine owners could only crawl through the tunnels.

The murky air made him wheeze like a broken bellows, and his hands and knees soon ached from being rubbed raw by the cold, hard rocks...

The Grantham mine owner wanted to stop and catch his breath, but then he found the Highland Headhunters behind him had a spearhead pressed against his buttocks.

At that moment, tears and snot streamed down his face. The dark cave ahead filled him with fear, but he had no choice but to grit his teeth and crawl forward.

After climbing for nearly a hundred meters, the tunnel turned into a stone passage. Grantham Mine Owner was finally able to stand up. He limped forward and shakily took a torch from the stone wall. He inserted the oilcloth wrapped with pine resin into a copper bowl, and the blue phosphorescent light enveloped the oilcloth, instantly igniting the torch.

The firelight reflected off the cave walls, and the Highland Headhunters following behind the Grantham mine owner narrowed their snake-like eyes.

The Grantham mine owner looked rather disheveled; his hands were dripping blood, his hair was disheveled, and there were several scratches on his frostbitten, blue cheeks.

As the Grantham mine owner traversed this narrow tunnel, which was about 100 meters long, his palms and knees were raw and bleeding.

The headhunter Chieftain walked up from behind, coldly looked at the disheveled Grantham mine owner, took the torch from his hand, and led the Highland Headhunters forward...

The Grantham mine owners were sandwiched among the headhunters, climbing the stone steps ever higher.

At the end of the tunnel was another stone gate, covered with a thick layer of dust, clearly indicating that no one had set foot here for many years.

Grantham Mine Owner was once again pushed forward by the Grantham. He brushed the dust off the stone door and pushed it with all his might, but he couldn't open it.

At the signal of the headhunting Chieftain, four Highland Headhunters stepped forward, and the five of them together finally pushed open the stone door...

It was still pitch black outside, but the fresh air told everyone that they had emerged from the tunnel.

The headhunter Chieftain held up a torch and looked outside. He found that there were neat Wooden Box Wooden Box front of him, arranged like a high wall. He walked to the Wooden Box, drew his sharp blade, and slashed at Wooden Box. The blade easily cut through the wooden planks, and when it touched the contents inside, a spark flew out.

'Snap...'

The Wooden Box was actually full of Gemstone Mine; that last strike had hit the ore.

This place turned out to be a warehouse. The Highland Headhunters stood beside the Wooden Box, cautiously surveying his surroundings...

Two Elf Warrior pushed open the door of Second Warehouse, and Roy and three other Elf Warrior worked together to push a flatbed cart, pushing a large box full of Gemstone Mine into the warehouse.

The daily output of Spinel Ore must be clearly recorded, and Roy stores all of these Gemstone Mine in Second Warehouse.

The warehouse was piled high with Gemstone Mine, mostly low-grade Gemstone Mine. Once transported to Buenos City, it could be sold to jewelers for a large amount of Magic Crystal Stone.

The other three Elf Warrior were also members of the Tenth Reconnaissance Squad, and they were already quite familiar with Roy.

As they pushed the flatbed cart into Second Warehouse, an Elf Warrior couldn't help but plead with Roy, "Roy, if you become the mine owner, please don't choose me when you're looking for helpers. I don't want to live here every day pushing ore carts."

"What's wrong with pushing ore carts?" Roy chuckled.

Several Elf Warrior said one after another, "It's so boring. There are no elven girls here. Our lives are so dull and boring. This is not the life we want."

As Roy and the three Elf Warrior walked and chatted, a faint holy light flickered in his palm...
