After the Battle
With the Gray Dwarf Bandit ' fleet leaving the waters around West Reef Islands, Roy's Half-Elf Guard Regiment officially declared victory in this small-scale naval battle in West Reef Islands.
The Silver Moon Elf on the main island are gradually accepting the Half-Elf Warrior living in the western suburban forest. They have begun sending Roy's camp some of the island's fruits, and sometimes some sea fish.
The old Silver Moon Elf even went to the camp in person to formally invite Roy and the Half-Elf Warrior to live in the village.
Roy, however, felt that the western woodlands were closer to the beach and docks, and that he could avoid disturbing the local Silver Moon Elf residents, thus reducing the likelihood of other conflicts. Therefore, he decisively declined the Old Elf's invitation.
The old Silver Moon Elf brought quite a few coconuts and oranges from the island with him when he visited the temporary camp.
He patted Roy on the shoulder and said to Roy with a look of emotion:
"Thanks to you all for being on the island this time, we were able to stop those Gray Dwarf Bandit from invading. I apologize for what I said before. Thank you and these young Elf Warrior!"
It's truly remarkable that an old Silver Moon Elf would set aside his status and pride to say such things...
Roy didn't dwell on the matter and quickly said very modestly:
"Now that we have joined the Silver Pegasus Legion, protecting everyone is our mission and responsibility."
"..."
Hearing Roy say this, the old Silver Moon Elf was filled with emotion, his eyes brimming with admiration for Roy.
"Commander Roy, you can come to the village sometime and have a chat with us old folks."
Before leaving, the old Silver Moon Elf extended a warm invitation to Roy.
When the other Silver Moon Elf looked at Roy, their eyes were filled with respect, clearly showing their high regard for the Half-Elf leader's abilities.
"The Guard Squad will likely remain stationed in West Reef Islands for some time, which will inevitably cause you some disturbance!"
Roy escorted the old Silver Moon Elf to the outside of the temporary camp, watched him leave with a group of Silver Moon Elf, and then turned back into the camp.
The fighting in the West Reef Islands has temporarily subsided, but he still has endless things to do every day.
The most important thing these past few days has been using Holy Light Art to heal the wounded Half-Elf Warrior...
Roy spent his days casting Holy Light Art on the wounded in the camp. Although the set of runes and prayers was somewhat complicated, he had to repeat it hundreds of times every day. This allowed him to easily cast Holy Light Art even if he drew the runes with his eyes closed using Holy Power.
The temporary camp now houses not only a thousand Half-Elf Warrior, but also wounded soldiers brought in from the surrounding islands.
The battle between the Half-Elf Guard Regiment and the Gray Dwarf Bandit raged for nearly a week on the islands of West Reef Islands. At least 500 Half-Elf died on the surrounding islands, and nearly a thousand more were Half-Elf.
Most of the injured Half-Elf were taken back to the main island of West Reef Islands by medium-sized sailboats.
The temporary camp here has better medical facilities, mainly because of Roy's Holy Light Art. No matter how serious the injury, as long as the person did not die on the battlefield, there is a high chance that Roy can save them if they are sent to the temporary camp...
As evening fell, the Half-Elf from the makeshift camp came to the beach, including some of the slightly injured Half-Elf Warrior.
In just about a week, some of their friends died in battle. The Half-Elf Warrior in the temporary camp were somewhat dejected. Back in the Pagisto Plateau, they never expected the battle on the Empress Ivini Islands to be so fierce.
This battle made many Half-Elf Warrior consider retreating...
At this point, it was impossible for them to return to the Pagisto Plateau, and a sense of sullen anxiety grew in the hearts of the Half-Elf Warrior.
Roy sensed that something was off about the atmosphere at the camp these past couple of days; everyone seemed rather downcast...
That's why he prepared a bonfire party on the beach.
A bonfire was lit on the silver sand beach.
Roy and some Half-Elf Warrior caught some sea fish near the rocky beach, and together with the sea fish brought over by the Silver Moon Elf from the village, Roy had the Half-Elf Warrior skewer the sea fish with sticks and slowly roast them by the campfire.
Waves of heat washed over the sea fish, and a fragrant aroma filled the air. Banana leaves spread out on the sand were piled high with fruit.
The wounded Half-Elf Warrior also leaned against the nearby rocks, watching curiously as Roy directed the Half-Elf to grill fish...
These Half-Elf Warrior from the Pagisto Plateau rarely get to eat such fresh sea fish, so they were filled with anticipation as they watched the grilled fish stuck next to the campfire.
After instructing the Half-Elf Warrior on how to grill the fish, Roy picked up some seashells from the sand nearby, then walked to the campfire and laid out the seashells of various sizes on the sand.
As he arranged the seashells, he explained them to the curious Half-Elf Warrior around:
"This seashell represents the main island of the Empress Ivini Islands, these are the surrounding islands, this is the West Reef Islands where we are, this is Parraram Island, this is Pattington Island, and as for this huge reef, you can think of it as the Elf Continent... Yes, that's about it!"
Roy spent a considerable amount of time meticulously laying out the distribution of these islands on the beach.
"In recent years, the Silver Pegasus Legion has been responsible for guarding the Empress Ivini Islands, not wanting this reef to fall into the hands of other races. This is because, for the Elf Continent, it is a strategic fortress that can be attacked or defended. Whoever occupies it will pose a certain threat to the Elf Continent, such as these Gray Dwarf Bandit who are currently preparing to occupy the Empress Ivini Islands..."
Roy stood beside the makeshift sand table, talking animatedly to the Half-Elf Warrior around him.
"We've all traveled thousands of miles from the Pagisto Plateau in the Pattington Plane plane to fight those ferocious Gray Dwarf Bandit. I'm sure some of you are thinking, 'What's the point of coming here to do something so dangerous? Even if we die here, will anyone remember us?'"
"I'm standing here now to tell everyone the significance of guarding the Empress Ivini Islands."
"This is the Empress Islands, this is the West Reef Islands, and this is Parraram Island... We could see Parraram Island from Pattington Island, so if we connect them with a line, it's clear that if the Gray Dwarf Bandit occupy the Empress Ivini Islands, they will inevitably extend their reach to Parraram Island and Pattington Island..."
"If they take Pattington Island, the entire Pattington Plane could fall into the hands of the Gray Dwarf Bandit. Have you all thought about what the consequences would be if the Gray Dwarf Bandit occupied Pattington Island?"
"So we are here to guard the West Reef Islands, not only to protect the spirits that live on these islands, but also to defend our own home."
Roy's words plunged the surrounding Half-Elf people into deep thought.
Seeing that the Gray Dwarf Bandit were naturally strong and brave in battle, everyone actually had some thoughts of retreating.
But now that Roy has given a detailed explanation of the area, the Half-Elf Warrior realize that protecting Empress Ivini Islands is actually protecting the Pattington Plane...
A fighting spirit rekindled in the hearts of every Half-Elf Warrior, and their eyes shone with renewed brilliance.
People started talking about it privately, which changed the dull atmosphere of the past two days.
At this moment, Roy couldn't help but think of Sabrina again. If she were to perform a "Dance of Morale" here, the fighting spirit of these Half-Elf Warrior might be rekindled...
Then came a melodious organ tune.
On the beach at dusk, the sunset, the waves, and the sand were all so beautiful.
In fact, it was not the Half-Elf Warrior stationed on the various reef islands, nor Roy stationed on the main island, that drove back this band of Gray Dwarf Bandit, but the Silver Pegasus Battle Group in the sky.
Upon learning of the attack on the West Reef Islands by the Gray Dwarf Bandit, the military on the Empress Ivini Islands responded swiftly, quickly dispatching a Silver Pegasus Battle Group.
If the Silver Pegasus Battle Group hadn't arrived in time, the Gray Dwarf Bandit fleet would probably have lingered in the West Reef Islands waters for a longer period of time.
Meanwhile, the casualties among the Guard Regiment may continue to rise, and the situation may deteriorate further.
Roy guessed that without Earl Swynborne's full support, the Silver Pegasus Battle Group wouldn't have been able to arrive so quickly.
From the appearance of this Silver Pegasus Battle Group to the Silver Pegasus Knights maneuvering back and forth with the Gray Dwarf Bandit fleet in the nearby waters, and finally the Gray Dwarf Bandit fleet leaving the West Reef Islands waters, the entire process took only two days...
Of course, the Gray Dwarf Bandit did not completely retreat; they simply wanted to continue harassing other islands around the Empress Islands.
The Empress Ivini Islands are already quite large, and when you include the surrounding islands of all sizes, even Silver Pegasus would probably need more than two days to circle around the entire Empress Ivini Islands...
Therefore, the current situation of the five Silver Pegasus Battle Group is merely a drop in the ocean compared to the deteriorating situation on the Empress Ivini Islands. These Silver Pegasus Knights cannot completely defeat the Gray Dwarf Bandit Fleet.
To deal with these Gray Dwarf Bandit, it is necessary to deploy Guard Squad on these islands inhabited by Silver Moon Elf.
The island defense battle completely eliminated the estrangement between the Silver Moon Elf and the Half-Elf Warrior on the island. It is said that many wounded warriors were housed in the temporary camp, Silver Moon Elf Elves on the island even sent some Magic Herbs to make ointments.
Roy tried it out, and to his surprise, the ointment made from these Magic Herbs was remarkably effective at healing wounds...
The next morning, Vitas strode over to Roy and whispered, "Boss, a Silver Pegasus Knight lady has arrived outside the camp. She says she wants to see you!"
Roy put down the bandage in his hand, turned around and walked towards the camp gate.
He didn't know many Silver Pegasus Knights, and the only female knight he knew was Miss Christine. Sure enough, when he arrived at the door, he saw Miss Christine wearing a magnificent Mithril Armor, holding the reins of the Silver Pegasus Silver Pegasus in one hand and touching its neck with the other, constantly comforting it.
Miss Christine heard a series of footsteps, turned around and saw Roy rushing out of the camp, and smiled at him.
Miss Christine was full of energy in the sunlight, and the sea breeze tousled her long hair, making it dance in the wind...
"Miss Christine, it's you?" Roy, somewhat surprised.
Although Miss Christine had mentioned visiting Roy when they met in the Empress Ivini Islands, Roy thought Christine was just saying it casually. He didn't expect to meet her again so soon.
Miss Christine smiled faintly and asked Roy, "You don't know that it was our Fifth Silver Pegasus Battle Group that drove away the Gray Dwarf Bandit in the waters near the West Reef Islands, do you?"
Roy said somewhat embarrassedly, "Uh, sorry, I really didn't know that!"
Miss Christine rolled her eyes at Roy...
"Would you like to take a stroll around the camp?" Roy invited Miss Christine into the temporary camp.
Miss Christine, leading the Silver Pegasus with its snow-white wings tucked into its back, gathered her disheveled long hair and looked at the silver beach in the distance, saying:
"Come for a walk on the beach with me! The situation on Talin Island is quite tense too. The Fifth Regiment has already headed there. I've taken a half-day break to come here and check on you..."
"Okay!" Roy quickly followed.
"We've chased this Gray Dwarf Fleet to the waters outside the Empress Ivini Islands, but unfortunately we couldn't completely eliminate them. It's estimated they'll return soon to harass various islands, so you must be very careful..."
Miss Christine whispered a word of advice.
Recently, she has been following the Fifth Legion to put out fires in the waters around the Empress Ivini Islands, and she is very familiar with the habits of these Gray Dwarf Bandit.
"So, you've been following the Fifth Silver Pegasus Battle Group, fighting all over this sea area lately?" Roy couldn't help but ask.
Miss Christine stood on the beach, loosened the reins of the Silver Pegasus, letting it run and frolic on the sand, and turned to Roy, saying:
"Actually, it's not that far! We have four days off every month, and we can occasionally go back to Castleton to rest. It's not that far to fly there."
"It's great to have the opportunity to take a vacation in Castleton every month!"
Roy clicked his tongue in admiration, clearly envious.
"If the situation in West Reef Islands stabilizes, you can also take a few days off back in Castleton..."
Miss Christine said.
The two chatted casually on the beach, and time seemed to fly by. Miss Christine only took half a day off before riding her snow-white Silver Pegasus toward Talin Island.
