Borrowing a Ship
A long queue had formed in front of the Teleportation Portal in the Central Square of Padesto City, mostly Half-Elf, all huddled together.
Fortunately, the weather wasn't too hot, so the elves weren't too irritable while standing in the waiting area.
A Half-Elf merchant carrying a large travel bag took out a handkerchief, wiped the sweat from his neck, pursed his lips, placed the heavy bundle at his feet, looked at the motionless crowd, and muttered to himself:
"Didn't the announcement say that the Teleportation Portal from Padesto City to Pattington Island would be opened today? It's already afternoon, and elves are still walking over from Pattington Island. How long are we supposed to wait?!"
Standing next to him was Half-Elf dressed as a traveler. He wore brown leather armor on his upper body, Lantern Pants on his lower body, and a pair of very durable traveler's boots on his feet. His age was hard to tell.
At this moment, the traveler couldn't help but smile and said to the backpacker merchant:
"It's probably because there are too many elves waiting to pass through the Teleportation Portal on Pattington Island. If the island exceeds its maximum capacity, they'll have to keep sending elves to the Pattington Plane! A friend who came from Pattington Island mentioned this to me last night..."
"Let's wait a little longer. There are so many elves staying in this square, we can't keep waiting forever."
The backpacker merchant asked the traveler curiously, "Are you entering the Elf Continent to embark on a journey?"
"Haha, I'm not embarking on a journey, but rather preparing to end it! The last time I planned to leave Padesto City, it coincided with the Silver Pegasus Legion's suppression of the Padesto City riots, and I was unable to leave the Pattington Plane smoothly. I've been waiting for six years now. The Pattington Plane has finally been unsealed, and my journey is finally coming to an end..." the traveler said with deep emotion.
Behind the traveler, a young Half-Elf peeked out and asked, "You're a traveler, you must have been to many places on the Elf Continent, right?"
"Of course, I've traveled to Three Great Capitals of the Elf Continent," the traveler said with great pride.
"Then you must know about Buenos City. Can you tell me what it's like there?" the young Half-Elf asked curiously.
"My young friend, are you planning to go to Buenos City?" the traveler asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Yes, I plan to study in Buenos. I've heard that the Elf Academy there is the highest-ranking academy on the Elf Continent." The young Half-Elf's eyes were filled with longing.
"To attend the Higher Elf Academy in Buenos, you need a letter of recommendation. Have you obtained one?" the traveler asked.
"Some..."
The elves waiting there found common ground to talk about, and time passed quickly.
Many Half-Elf are dreamers who want to see the outside world. They are full of curiosity about the Elf Continent and plan to take advantage of the opportunity of the Teleportation Portal being opened to go out and see it.
Moira, Sabrina, Miss Tiffany, and Woods were also mixed in with the group. They didn't say anything, but just listened quietly to everyone's chatter.
At that moment, the column suddenly began to move.
Everyone looked toward the Teleportation Portal, and sure enough, the area in Teleportation Portal had been cleared out by a group of Half-Elf guards.
The Half-Elf guards raised the barriers, and the Half-Elf waiting at the front rushed towards the Teleportation Portal, disappearing one after another into the mirror-like Teleportation Portal...
"It's moving! It's moving! Everyone grab your things and watch your step..."
"Don't push, you guys in the back!"
Every now and then, Half-Elf would shout in the party.
No one expected there to be so many elves waiting in Teleportation Portal. Woods charged ahead alone, with Sabrina at the very back of the group. The two of them sandwiched Moira and Miss Tiffany in the middle, and the four of them stumbled and staggered towards the Teleportation Portal through the crowd.
"Things will be better once we get to Pattington Island..." Woods reassured everyone as they walked.
Finally, it was their turn to enter the Teleportation Portal. Seeing the ripples on the mirrored surface of the Teleportation Portal, the four of them quickly stepped inside...
They quickly emerged from the other side of the Teleportation Portal.
The square in Pattington Town isn't very big, given the limited space inside the mountain.
At least fifty Elven Guard stood Teleportation Portal, arranged in two Elven Guard on either side. As the elves emerged from the Teleportation Portal Teleportation Portal, they urged them on.
'Quickly clear the space in front of the Teleportation Portal! Everyone, don't stop, move forward and make room...'
Sometimes, when these Elven Guard urged them on too hastily, it looked as if they were driving them away, which immediately aroused the dissatisfaction of many Half-Elf.
Walking into the narrow alleys of Pattington Town, many Half-Elf spread their luggage rolls directly on the stone slabs of Pattington Town. These Half-Elf were probably waiting to enter the Pattington Plane.
The Half-Elf who poured in from all over the place almost filled the entire town.
"So this place is also crowded with so many elves..."
Moira walked in the middle of the group and said in a low voice.
"No wonder the Teleportation Portal guards here extended the passage time by half a day..." Woods echoed.
Where are we going?
Miss Tiffany then poured water from a water bag over her head before saying:
"Follow the crowd to the edge of the island..."
When the four arrived at the beach, they discovered that Pattington Island was not only crowded with Half-Elf, but also with Half-Elf on the beaches surrounding the island who wanted to enter the Pattington Plane. They set up tents on the beach and waited for the Teleportation Portal to open again.
Roy's Three-Masted Sailboat were almost all moored in the sheltered fjords, with one of them Three-Masted Sailboat on a deck on the beach, its stern Propulsion Device already installed.
Four dwarf apprentices are making adjustments on the Magic Airship before its test flight.
The beach was currently under martial law, so the four of them didn't go there, but rested on the beach at the edge of the martial law zone.
Miss Tiffany had already eagerly jumped into the sea, while Moira, with her arms around Sabrina's, blushed and confided in her sister, "Sometimes, I feel like no matter how hard I try, it's hard to catch up with him."
"Ever since he entered the Pattington Plane, it seems like he's been racing at full speed on his life's path. He was originally just supposed to be a guide for the Silver Pegasus Legion on the Pagisto Plateau, but now he's become the governor of the Pagisto Plateau. And he's just an ordinary Half-Elf! What am I supposed to do...?"
Sabrina turned her head to look at the medium-sized sailboat on the distant sea, without answering Moira's question. Perhaps Moira just needed her to act as a listener, or perhaps Sabrina herself was somewhat confused...
Yes, how did it suddenly become like this?
When Roy arrived at the Central Square from the Material Warehouse, he saw a large number of Half-Elf lining up to enter the Teleportation Portal.
The queue stretched around the Central Square three times and extended for nearly a kilometer down the street. If Roy waited at the back of the queue for all the elves to pass through, Roy thought he might have to wait until noon the next day.
After all, there are tax officials waiting in line behind them for inspections.
He hung the Silver Pegasus Legion commander's badge around his neck and walked straight to the Central Square.
The Half-Elf guards bowed to Roy upon seeing him.
Almost all of these Half-Elf guards knew Roy. The few who didn't recognize him only learned about him from their companions' whispered reminders. They knew that this young Half-Elf was the famous Boss Roy.
Roy had a very high reputation among the Half-Elf in Padesto City. When the Half-Elf guards saw Roy approaching, they took the initiative to lead Roy to the Teleportation Portal.
The Half-Elf guards at the Teleportation Portal blocked other elves from Teleportation Portal, leaving a clear path for Roy.
Then, under the watchful eyes of all the elves, Roy passed directly through the Teleportation Portal...
Among the elves in line, some Silver Moon Elf, seeing this scene, immediately questioned the Half-Elf guard beside them, "Why is there special treatment? Wasn't it said that there would be no special treatment this time the Teleportation Portal was reopened? Silver Moon Elf and Half-Elf are treated equally, so why can't we use the fast track, but he can?"
The Half-Elf guard glanced at the Silver Moon Elf as if he were an idiot, completely ignoring him.
"Hey, hey, hey, give me an explanation right now, or I'm going to write a complaint letter to the Silver Pegasus Military Department..."
The Half-Elf guard turned around, leaving only his back to the Half-Elf.
On Pattington Island, the third Magic Airship underwent a test flight around the island immediately after its modification was completed.
Under the control and command of four dwarf apprentices, the Magic Airship successfully completed its maiden voyage.
Many Half-Elf who stayed on the island witnessed this scene.
In fact, such Magic Airship are quite rare in the Elven World.
Everyone was curious, and when they saw the Magic Airship silently glide overhead, cheers erupted on the beach.
The officer from the Padesto Silver Pegasus Military Department and three investigators stood on the dock. The dock on Pattington Island was also very crowded. Several Supply Ship were not in port at this time, and only a medium-sized sailing ship was planning to set sail for Castleton Harbour.
The three investigators only wanted to go to the Silver Pegasus Legion headquarters in Empress Ivini Islands to complain to Vice Commander McCauley about the incompetence of the Pattington Plane Army, and did not want to return to Castleton City.
Therefore, the group remained at the pier on Pattington Island.
Officials at the Silver Pegasus Military Department began actively seeking solutions; they wanted to directly requisition a military Supply Ship from the docks...
Just then, the three investigators spotted the Magic Airship in the sky almost simultaneously.
"... How come there's a Magic Airship here?"
An investigator stood on the crowded dock, looking up at the sky, and asked with a heart full of doubt.
Another investigator chimed in, "How could the technology developed by those despicable goblins end up on Pattington Island?"
"There is a Magic Airship Modification Workshop on the island, where a group of dwarven craftsmen modify Magic Airship. The modified Magic Airship will be transported to the Pattington Plane, Pattington Plane there are currently no restrictions on Magic Airship," the officer from the Silver Pegasus Military Department replied.
"Didn't they say there were no ships heading to the Empress Ivini Islands? How come there are ships there modifying Magic Airship?" the investigator immediately questioned.
"Those ships are all the private property of Commander Roy. As for how to dispose of them, that's Commander Roy's personal matter, and we can't interfere," said the person in charge of Pattington Island's docks.
In fact, the Silvermoon Elven Council of Elders never officially issued a decree restricting the flight of Magic Airship...
Therefore, the three investigators are unable to make a fuss about this matter for the time being.
"So, you mean there are still some idle ships at the conversion workshop...?" the investigator asked.
The person in charge of the Pattington Island pier hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded and said:
"That's absolutely right!"
"Then we can simply call in a ship from the conversion workshop!" the investigator shouted at the military officer.
The military officials looked rather grim.
He just said that these Three-Masted Sailboat belong to Commander Roy personally, and now he has to step in to coordinate their borrowing... really...
Military officials had no good options with the three investigators and could only frown and agree.
The group then left the crowded island pier and walked directly along the beach to the Magic Airship Modification Workshop.
Roy stood on the beach, looking up at the Magic Airship in the sky.
The third Magic Airship slowly descended back into the sea. It seemed that the test flight was a great success. Next, Roy needed to coordinate with the guards of the Pattington Island Teleportation Portal to determine the approximate time it would take for the Magic Airship to pass through the Teleportation Portal.
Pattington Island is now crowded with elves preparing to travel to the Pattington Plane, so Roy estimates that the Magic Airship may need to make reservations in advance to pass through the Teleportation Portal.
He was just about to discuss the progress of the fourth Magic Airship's modification with Master Maggs when a Half-Elf Warrior ran over to report, "Boss Roy, several military officers want to see you!"
Roy was slightly taken aback when he heard that military officials had taken the initiative to approach him.
"Where is it? Take me there!" Roy ordered.
The Half-Elf Warrior immediately led Roy to the beach nearby.
Roy rolled his eyes when he saw the military officer and the three investigators. What a coincidence!
I just ran into him in the lobby of Padesto's military headquarters this morning, and now I can't believe I'm seeing him again on Pattington Island this afternoon...
Roy then strode over, a smile on his face, and asked the military officer, "I am Roy. May I ask who wishes to see me?"
"Commander Roy, I am Braid, the political officer of the Padesto military headquarters. We are here to visit you to borrow a Three-Masted Sailboat. We plan to go to Queen Ivini Island and return that evening!" The military officer spoke quite politely.
"That's no problem. Do you need our crew?"
Roy agreed without a second thought, not even glancing at the three investigators.
"That would be the best, of course."
The military official responded with a smile.
