Viesel's Letter
Quartermaster Leo reached into the latch of the warehouse door with one hand and pushed it aside with force. With a slight creak of the pulley, the warehouse door was easily opened.
The chandeliers on the warehouse ceiling lit up one after another. These magical chandeliers were almost all made of moonstone and emitted a soft, milky white glow.
The warehouse was filled with shelves, which were much more sophisticated than those in Roy's mine warehouses. The oak shelves were divided into three levels, and each level was filled with neat Wooden Box. The lower right corner of each box was covered with a note with Elven.
Quartermaster Leo led Roy and Klayr a few steps inside. The warehouse manager, who had been following behind him, used a long iron hook to grab a Wooden Box Wooden Box, pulled it off the shelf, and then used the same hook to pry open the Wooden Box's lid. He casually brushed aside the Golden Silk Grass stuffing inside and picked up a piece of silver armor. This Light Armor was inlaid with some gold patterns, and the joints between the armor plates were connected by hidden snaps that could move freely.
Then Quartermaster Leo picked up a pair of wrist guards, which were even more exquisitely crafted.
These high-quality Standard Military Uniform, available in Light Armor and heavy armor, left Roy somewhat dazzled.
"The equipment displayed in this warehouse is all Standard Military Uniform of excellent quality. Currently, at least half of the Silver Moon Elf Infantry Regiment in the Silver Moon Elf Kingdom are equipped with military uniforms of excellent quality," Quartermaster Leo introduced to Roy.
Roy reached out and took a wristband. The cold touch and heavy weight made Roy very fond of this high-quality wristband.
It must be said that the elves strive for perfection in everything they do, and these Standard Military Uniform are also exquisitely crafted by elven artisans in their pursuit of perfect craftsmanship.
Following Quartermaster Leo inside, the Wooden Box on the shelves were almost all filled with this type of Standard Armaments.
Quartermaster Leo proudly explained the advantages of these military equipment to Roy.
Almost every Standard Military Uniform is engraved with exquisite patterns, and in some places there are even openwork designs for ventilation...
Quartermaster Leo casually picked up an exquisite silver shoulder armor from the Wooden Box, then pulled out a dagger strapped to his thigh and stabbed it into the shoulder armor, instantly creating a spark. Afterward, Quartermaster Leo had Roy examine the shoulder armor, which only had a very shallow scratch on it.
"Ordinary daggers cannot pierce this armor unless they are magical weapons with armor-piercing properties."
"That's what Quartermaster Leo explained."
After leaving the armory, Quartermaster Leo led Roy and Klayr into the adjacent armory, where shelves were filled with longswords and longbows.
"These Storm Sword Storm Sword are among the finest magical weapons I have here; they possess a slicing effect."
Quartermaster Leo stood in front of a row of Storm Sword and introduced them to Roy.
Roy was quite familiar with this kind of Storm Sword, except that the Storm Sword equipped by the Half-Elf Warrior of the Mine Guard Regiment were not magical weapons and did not have the 'severing' effect.
Roy drew a longsword and could clearly feel the sharpness of the blade...
Quartermaster Leo then introduced the Elf Longbow to Roy: "These Elf Longbow can imbue arrows with a wind-controlling effect. Such magical weapons would cost at least ten Magic Crystal Stone in any weapon shop in Castleton City. Elf Longbow of this quality might be even more expensive. Each Elf Longbow comes with three bowstrings, a thumb ring, and a quiver of superior quality Armor-Piercing Arrow."
Whether they are Silver Moon Elf or Half-Elf, their use of bows and arrows is almost ingrained in their bones.
A finely crafted Elf Longbow can greatly enhance the combat power of Elf Warrior...
Roy didn't think too much about it; he was only thinking about the elusive headhunter squads on the Pagisto Plateau. The biggest problem for the Mine Guard Regiment right now was cleaning up these small groups of headhunters.
Equipping the Elf Warrior of the Mine Guard Regiment with better gear and appropriately boosting their combat power will greatly help in clearing out the Elf Warrior.
"Quartermaster Leo, I intend to buy all five thousand sets of Standard Military Uniform, along with Storm Sword and Elf Longbow," Roy said to Quartermaster Leo, putting down the Elf Longbow he was holding.
He then smiled and continued, "I think now... we can talk about how to pay for and deliver these Standard Military Uniform."
Quartermaster Leo was slightly taken aback. He never expected that these two young elves would decide to make a purchase immediately after just a quick glance at the Armaments Depot.
"We have plenty of military supplies in stock. You can buy them whenever you want. Just bring your Magic Crystal Stone and come find me here anytime," said Quartermaster Leo.
Roy pondered for a moment, then wrote and calculated on a piece of parchment before finally looking up and saying, "This time I only have one Three-Masted Sailboat docked in Castleton Harbour. This ship certainly can't transport five thousand sets of Standard Military Uniform at once, so I plan to pick up the goods in three installments. Quartermaster Leo, I wonder if that's possible?"
"As a close friend of Wagner Klayr, that's no problem at all," Quartermaster Leo readily agreed.
Klayr, standing to the side, quickly expressed her gratitude to Quartermaster Leo.
Quartermaster Leo watched Klayr and the Half-Elf Roy leave side by side and sighed that the big spenders these days are getting younger and younger!
In his office were ten treasure chests filled with Magic Crystal Stone, each containing ten thousand Magic Crystal Stone.
These Magic Crystal Stone were the first payment Roy made to Quartermaster Leo.
Quartermaster Leo and Roy have already agreed that 5,000 sets of high-quality standard Standard Military Uniform will be delivered to Roy in three batches.
After Roy paid the second deposit, Quartermaster Leo delivered the second batch of Standard Military Uniform Standard Military Uniform. Then Roy settled the remaining balance and took away the third batch of 1,600 Standard Military Uniform.
As the manager of the Armaments Depot, Quartermaster Leo had the authority to Standard Military Uniform Armaments Depot stored there.
In recent years, as wars in the Silver Moon Elf Kingdom have gradually decreased, the military workshops have not stopped operating, resulting in a large backlog of military supplies in the Material Warehouse.
Once new military equipment is produced, it must be sent to warehouses in various locations.
The local quartermasters needed to find a way to dispose of the surplus high-quality military equipment that had accumulated in the warehouse.
Most of the Silver Moon Elf armies near Castleton City do not want to switch to superior quality military supplies... mainly because they are currently equipped with this type of military equipment, which does not improve their combat strength; it is merely a matter of replacing old equipment with new.
The military spends a large sum of money to upgrade its equipment, which feels somewhat wasteful.
This is also the main reason why the Castleton City Armaments Depot has accumulated a large amount of Standard Armaments.
Just then, Half-Elf came to our door with a procurement permit, saying he wanted to buy a batch of Standard Military Uniform... There's no reason not to sell!
He turned and walked back to the front desk, instructing the Silver Moon Elf receptionist there:
"This afternoon, Half-Elf might come to move military supplies. When that time comes, call Darnell out and have him communicate with those Half-Elf!"
"Understood, Lord Leo," the receptionist replied quickly.
As the manager of Warehouse No. 1, Darnell is one of the most trusted people around Quartermaster Leo.
Roy and Klayr left the Armaments Depot and then took a carriage to a Trading Company with which Klayr had some business dealings.
When the waiter in the Trading Company saw Klayr, he quickly ran into the shop.
Before long, the shop manager rushed out and approached Klayr, saying warmly, "It's been a while since you, the great musician, have patronized our business..."
This Trading Company is located on the third main street of Castleton City.
Upon entering the shop, you'll see it filled with a wide variety of goods, a truly diverse collection.
The shelves not only had Elf Biscuit and Tree of Life Sap, but also sculptures and famous paintings that the Silver Moon Elf admired, silk and Magic Pattern Cloth that the Silver Moon Elf liked, and some exquisitely crafted metalware.
"This time I'm going to buy another thousand boxes of Elf Biscuit, another thousand seven-tenths ripe Breadfruit, and two hundred cups of undiluted Tree of Life Sap."
Klayr stood in the Trading Company, not even bothering to sit down, and spoke to the Silver Moon Elf manager.
The Silver Moon Elf manager immediately instructed the shop assistants behind him to prepare the goods, and then calculated the prices of the goods.
Roy could only count out 1,500 Magic Crystal Stone from his Magic Pouch and hand them over to the Silver Moon Elf manager of the trading company.
The trading company quickly prepared the goods. The main item was the two hundred cups of undiluted Tree of Life Sap, which cost a whopping twelve hundred Magic Crystal Stone. The thousand boxes of Elf Biscuit were also a significant purchase. The Breadfruit, on the other hand, were just extras in this transaction, and the Trading Company hadn't even factored that cost into their calculations.
The Trading Company rented ten carriages and delivered the goods directly to the Three-Masted Sailboat in Castleton Harbour.
Roy then had the Half-Elf Warrior on the ship go with him to the Armaments Depot to retrieve the goods. This time, Roy hired twenty carriages, and these carriages made two round trips in Castleton City throughout the afternoon, finally transporting 1,600 sets of Standard Military Uniform back to the ship before dark.
The Three-Masted Sailboat did not set sail overnight; Roy planned to stay another night in Castleton City.
In the evening, Roy, Klayr, Woods, Sabrina, Moira, Miss Tiffany had a barbecue on the deck of the Black Pearl. It was a rare occasion for them to get together, and they chatted until very late before parting ways.
Just before leaving the Black Pearl, Miss Tiffany, with her hands on the ship's railing, asked Roy, who was slowly walking off the ship:
"Roy, have you ever thought about... sending the Black Pearl back to the sea?"
Roy was slightly taken aback. Although the Black Pearl had now regained its seafaring capabilities, he had never actually thought about this issue.
The main problem is that it has been sitting on this beach for too long, and now the mainmast has even grown into a tree, making Roy somewhat forget that it is actually a ship...
"For now... let's just leave it here. Even if it returns to the sea, where can it go?"
After saying that, Roy and Woods walked arm in arm toward the dock.
Although it was late, the Fish Market was still bustling. Ms. Jillian obviously hadn't gone home yet, and Sabrina naturally had to go help out. Moira didn't really want to go, but her sister dragged her away anyway.
Roy and Woods parted ways at the crossroads; Woods was heading to the Alchemy Workshop, while Roy was walking home...
Arriving at the gate, Roy glanced at the mailbox, somewhat hoping to receive a letter from Ms. Belinda.
Roy walked over and opened the mailbox in the darkness. There was indeed a letter inside. Roy excitedly took out the letter. The paper was dark-colored and there was a red clay seal at the opening. The handwriting on it was not Ms. Belinda's handwriting.
Roy sighed in disappointment, then saw the word ' Roy ' written Viesel the lower right corner of the envelope.
Unexpectedly, it was a letter from Xavier, the Dark Moon Elf, sent from the city of Inohaus.
Roy took the letter back to his room, turned on the magic wall lamp by his bed, took a shower, and then lay down on the bed. Under the lamp, he opened the letter:
Roy, it's been so long since I heard from you. Are you still helping those Half-Elf and Dark Moon Elf in the Pattington Plane?
Are you a little surprised to see that I wrote to you? The reason I'm writing this letter is to tell you some news. According to intelligence from our Assassin Guild, the headquarters of the Goddess of Freedom Temple in Gorfito is currently abandoned.
Prior to this, the entire Gorfito Canyon had been completely sealed off by the Priest of the Goddess of Freedom Temple.
All we know is that there is a passage leading to the Dark Land within the Gorfito Canyon. The Priest of the Goddess of Freedom Temple guard Gorfito, also to protect this dark passage and prevent those terrible Dark Creatures from running to the Elf Continent and attacking the Elf Continent there.
The Priest of the Goddess of Freedom Temple possess Holy Power, which is just right to restrain those Dark Creatures. Those Priest are willing to protect Gorfito, and the elves allow them to spread the teachings of the Goddess of Freedom of Liberty across the Elf Continent.
But now the Goddess of Freedom Temple in Gorfito Canyon has become a deserted place.
All the Priest there have disappeared. I know you were also Priest from the Goddess of Freedom Temple, which is why I'm writing this letter to you. I hope this news won't frighten you.
In short, Gorfito seems to be in some danger right now.
If you have time, don't forget to let me know what's going on in Castleton City...
The final signature is: Viesel.
The letter was sent exactly two weeks ago.
Roy hadn't seen the letter by morning, so it must have been delivered just today.
At this moment, Roy lay in bed, his mind reeling. Had all the Priest of Gorfito vanished? Had they all gone to the Dark Land, leaving him no way out? The thought sent a chill down Roy's spine...
