"Oh, all right, come in, come in. He really was hit hard." Horace Slughorn stepped aside. "I have the necessary supplies in my trunk. Love Potion isn't a particularly difficult potion to cure..."
The instant Horace Slughorn stepped aside, Ron rushed into Horace Slughorn's overly cramped study, tripped over a tasseled footstool, and only managed to keep his balance by grabbing Harry around the neck.
Ron was still muttering, "She's not here. She's not here—where is she?"
"She's gone," Harry said, noticing that Horace had opened his potion case and was adding something to a small crystal vial.
"She's already left. Let's have some tonic first," Harry added.
"Wonderful!" Ron said eagerly. "How do I look now?"
"Very handsome!" Horace Slughorn said calmly, handing Ron the small bottle of clear liquid. "Now drink it. This is Courage Tonic. It'll help you stay calm when she arrives, you know."
"Brilliant!" Ron said eagerly, swallowing the antidote in one gulp.
Harry and Slughorn watched Ron. After a while, Ron slowly relaxed with a smile, no longer looking utterly terrified.
"Back to normal?" Harry asked with a smile. Horace Slughorn chuckled as well. "Thank you so much, Professor."
"You're welcome, my boy, don't mention it," Horace Slughorn said. Ron then collapsed onto the nearby sofa, sinking deeply into it and looking absolutely dreadful.
"Oh, let me see." Horace Slughorn rose from the potion table and walked over to his desk. Then he picked up a bottle of drink from the cluttered surface. "Aha, I knew it. I have a completely unopened bottle of Butterbeer here. Hmm, all right!"
Horace Slughorn shrugged and continued, "Weasley absolutely cannot miss this! Why don't we open it now to celebrate Mr. Weasley's birthday? Nothing calls for tremendous courage more than driving away the pain of heartbreak... and
