With Hermione and Harry comforting him, Hagrid seemed to calm down a little. But when he woke the next day, the faint sorrow of parting still lingered in his heart. Hagrid made a swift decision and headed deep into the Forbidden Forest to visit his precious Aragog.

But when he reached the Acromantulas' gathering place in the depths of the Forbidden Forest, all that remained were countless empty, decaying giant trees that had collapsed, and vines and shrubs that had covered their surfaces in just a few days.

Only a crude doorway, made of two wooden planks and a stone doorframe, stood at the very center of the sunken basin.

The rotten-looking door was covered in densely packed spells written in words Hagrid could not understand.

Hagrid was at a loss, standing there blankly like a grown child.

"Aragog!" Hagrid shouted. "Aragog, where are you?"

"Aragog! Aragog!"

Hagrid cried out anxiously, pacing in circles around the crude doorway of stone and rotten wood.

"Click, click. Click click click click."

Just as Hagrid was growing so anxious he was about to cry, faint clicking sounds came from beyond the doorway.

"Aragog?"

Hagrid approached the doorway in delight, but still did not dare push it open. He could only call out anxiously.

"Is that you, Aragog?" Hagrid began shouting expectantly.

"Hagrid."

"It's me."

"I'm behind the door."

A rough voice, like sand grinding against stone, came from beyond the doorway. Aragog's voice seemed to travel from very, very far away, reaching Hagrid's ears in broken fragments.

"Aragog!" Hagrid cried delightedly. "Where are you, Aragog? How do I find you?"

"Push open the door, Hagrid. Push open the door." Aragog's voice came again. "Push it open. Come inside."
