Background / History

Hanzo first builds support among the Land of Rain’s refugees through public relief efforts, distributing bread and calling for ambitious men to join his cause. His followers present him as the powerful hero who can overthrow Amegakure’s ineffective leadership and resist the great nations. 5

During escalating Sand Village provocations, Hanzo personally pursues and kills infiltrators responsible for massacres in the Land of Rain. He exposes their use of the Face-Stealing Technique to impersonate Konoha ninja, recognizing the deception as a ploy connected to Sunagakure. 114 115

He challenges his former teacher, Musashi, for leadership of the Land of Rain.
