Background / History

Liu Ji was celebrated as a historic Liu Clan genius after lifting the First Soul-Forging Cauldron as a young child. That pride was immediately undermined when Liu Ding—who had not cultivated—lifted the same cauldron higher, beginning Liu Ji’s resentment toward him. 2

Three years later, Liu Ji advanced to the Three Soul-Forging Cauldrons and became the clan’s favored successor after Fang Xi declared Liu Ding’s damaged soul would leave him an idiot. 3

During the attempt to steal Golden Lion cubs, Liu Ji used Liu Ding to retrieve the cubs, fled first when the mother returned, and escaped unharmed with the strongest cub. After Liu Bo died, he claimed Liu Bo had led the children out and shifted responsibility away from himself. 3 5
