Background / History

Xie Yue is Hu Liena's older brother and one of Martial Soul Hall's Golden Generation. When Sun Sheng encounters their group near the Star Dou Great Forest, Xie Yue is a level 49 Soul Ancestor. He initially opposes bringing the apparently low-level Sun Sheng into their team, considering him a liability, but accepts after Hu Liena and Yan agree. He remains watchful because of his sister's unusually favorable treatment of Sun Sheng. 9 10

During the Goliath Ant crisis, Xie Yue and Yan deliberately maneuver the battle so that Hu Liena is separated from Sun Sheng and the latter is exposed to the ant swarm. When Hu Liena is injured, Xie Yue knocks her unconscious and carries her away, leaving Sun Sheng to face the Goliath Ant King. 12 13

Sun Sheng's survival, his defeat of the Goliath Ant King, and his thousand-year second soul ring force Xie Yue to reassess him. Xie Yue regrets his earlier conduct and becomes concerned that Sun Sheng's future accomplishments will surpass those of the Golden Generation. 19 22

After Sun Sheng refuses to expose the Star Dou Great Forest incident to Hu Liena, Xie Yue begins to view him more favorably. Their relationship changes decisively when Sun Sheng gives Xie Yue a Soul Orb, raising him from level 49 to 50. Xie Yue is moved by the gift, considers Sun Sheng a fellow member of the Golden Generation, and later treats him as Hu Liena's prospective brother-in-law. 23 24 25

He is also observant, pragmatic, and more level-headed than Yan. In group combat, he identifies threats, assigns roles, and acts as the Golden Generation's tactical core despite Yan's greater direct strength. 45
