Sun Wukong endured the Heavenly Court’s staged tribulations, broke through to the peak of the Golden Immortal of Grand Dao realm, and learned the truth before setting out with the Scripture Seekers. As the expedition headed toward the Demonic Sect, Tongtian and Jin Ling became dao companions and the demons prepared to confront the travelers.

• Nezha and Yang Jian defeated Sun Wukong on Flower-Fruit Mountain, and after his death the Ox-Head and Horse-Face drew his spirit into the Netherworld, where the White Crane Boy’s Natal Feather appeared.
• Sun Wukong broke free in Hell when the Monkey Descendants were tortured, reunited with his body to reach Peak Golden Immortal of Grand Dao, and secured their rebirth through Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
• Venus Tai Bai offered Sun Wukong the title Great Sage Equal to Heaven, and Sun Wukong accepted before raiding the Heavenly Court’s treasury, Peach Garden, and Tushita Palace.
• Nezha and Yang Jian fought Sun Wukong, whose awakened Law of Battle helped him reach the peak of Golden Immortal of Grand Dao and perfect the Eight Nine Arcane Art.
• Lord Lao revealed that Sun Wukong’s tribulations had been arranged by the Heavenly Court and Patriarch Bodhi, but Sun Wukong emerged from the Qiankun Cauldron with his Divine Eye of Piercing Delusion perfected and agreed to go west.
• Jin Ling and Tongtian became dao companions as the Heavenly Court watched the Demonic Sect’s preparations, while Sun Wukong reunited with the Scripture Seekers in Great Qin.
• Ying Zheng sent Golden Cicada, Sun Wukong, Bian Zhuang, and the other Scripture Seekers toward the Southern Continent with the Hundred Schools of Thought and one hundred thousand Great Qin Elite Soldiers.
• Chonglou sent Ying Yao to prepare the Myriad Demon Kingdom for the travelers, while Arm-Crossing Ape Monkey and Six-Eared Macaque planned how to use their shared origin against their captors.
