The Challenge, Part Two

Konohamaru nodded without a second thought.

"No problem! We agreed it's a challenge. Even though it might be me crushing you, Kakashi said it's fine. So, you decide the rules and the location. Or, if you're too lazy, we can do it right here! But this is the entrance to the Ninja Academy. I wouldn't want you to lose too badly in front of everyone."

Ye Lan sneered, thinking this kid was fearless. But he liked that about him, no wonder Naruto liked Konohamaru more and more and they became good brothers.

Ye Lan smiled and said, "Alright, Konohamaru, since it's a challenge between us, I'll decide. I want to go to the forest outside the school. And Kakashi will be our witness. No matter who wins or loses, we have to follow the rules. What do you think?"

Konohamaru tilted his little head and thought for a moment. Then he puffed out his chest and said, "No problem, let's do it your way."

Kakashi smiled and asked, "Ye Lan, since Konohamaru is so eager, if you don't mind, let's all go to the forest. Iruka isn't in a rush, we can tell him after you two are done."

"Okay!"

The three of them quickly agreed and headed to the big forest outside the village, where Naruto often trained.

Once they arrived, Konohamaru stood in front of Ye Lan and said, "Pretty boy, what kind of match do you want? And what are your conditions? I'll let you decide."

Ye Lan chuckled and said, "Matches are all about winning or losing."

"How about this, since you said you want to challenge me, let's not fight today, let's compete in something else, what do you think?"

Konohamaru, of course, had no objections.

He raised an eyebrow and finally said, "Tell me, what kind of match do you want?"

"So you agree?"

Konohamaru sneered, "What's there to be afraid of? Do I need to play tricks to compete with you?"

Ye Lan was waiting for Konohamaru to say that, and immediately said, "Okay! Then let's compete in Ninjutsu!"

"I don't have any special talents, I just like to steal other people's Ninjutsu. Tell me, what Ninjutsu are you good at? Show them all to me. If I can learn all of them within the time you set, then you lose!"

"If I can't learn all of them within the time you set, then I lose to you, what do you think? That's not cheating, right?"

Konohamaru thought for a moment and finally shook his head.

Ye Lan smiled and said, "What's wrong, kid? Are you scared?"

Konohamaru chuckled, "You think you can fool me with your little tricks?"

Ye Lan asked in confusion, "Huh? How am I fooling you? Didn't we agree to compete?"

Konohamaru continued, "Tch, I know what you're up to. You just want to steal my Ninjutsu, but you're making it sound so noble."

Ye Lan was unhappy when he heard that, and then said, "Ha! You little brat, you're so much younger than me, how many Ninjutsu can you even know? Besides, the Ninjutsu you know are probably all C-rank or even unranked, definitely not impressive. You'd lose before you even used them in a fight, unlike me, I've learned all kinds of powerful Ninjutsu, I can casually pull one out and completely crush you."
