The Week-Long Promise

Ye Lan patted Konohamaru's head and said, "You little rascal. You're so greedy. I taught you Great Fire Annihilation, and now you're already trying to get me to teach you something else. There's no such thing."

Konohamaru frowned and said, "I don't care. If you don't teach me another one, I won't acknowledge you as my big brother."

"Let's learn Great Fire Annihilation first, then I'll teach you something else."

Ye Lan glanced at Konohamaru slyly and said, "How about this? According to our agreement, as long as you learn my Ninjutsu, you'll call me big brother. We haven't set a time limit for the agreement yet. I'll leave this opportunity to you, Konohamaru. How long do you think it will take you to learn my Ninjutsu? This will be the time we bet on. If you exceed that range, then you have to call me big brother. If you don't exceed that range, then I'll teach you five more kinds of Ninjutsu."

Konohamaru's eyes darted back and forth as he listened to this.

Then he said, "Okay, then. One month. I can definitely learn it within a month."

Ye Lan shook his head, "One month is too long. I don't agree."

Konohamaru continued, "Then twenty days."

"One week. I'll only give you one week."

Kakashi smiled and said, "Yes, we still do. Although you are very strong, you haven't gotten Konoha's forehead protector yet, so you don't even count as a Genin. Go report to Iruka first, so you can be considered a member of Konoha Village in the future."

Konohamaru was shocked to hear this and then said, "What? Aren't you from Konoha Village?"
