Background

Wei Qingye discovered the Sword-Vein Shoot in a bamboo grove after finding one of his junior brothers dead there. He took the shoot from the deceased disciple's hand and later refined it into his natal Magic Tool through Sky Vein Sword Mountain's secret art. Because their lives became linked, the shoot's decline would inflict grave injury on him. 90

The Sword-Vein Shoot initially rejected him, apparently because of the killing intent and vicious aura accumulated around him. Li Ye treated and soothed the plant, eventually restoring its wholehearted devotion to Wei Qingye; its bamboo aura also cleansed and restrained his killing intent. 90 91
