Background

Jiang Guichen was Su Xing Zhenren's eldest disciple and the master of the beaver Little White. He disappeared before Li Ye entered the Four Seasons Sect, leaving Little White unwilling to accept an immortal conferment or near-eternal lifespan; instead, the beaver used the Blood Spirit Whale to draw in Gold Sand Clan bloodlines in an attempt to recreate him. 153

Li Ye first encountered him on Ruoquan Island, where he identified himself as “Senior Brother Jiang.” His appearance and the island's reality were initially uncertain, as both may have been shaped by the Heart Grass's illusion. He nevertheless treated Li Ye warmly, showed him the island, and gave him a Spring Bloom Autumn Peach from the Autumn Light Grotto-Heaven. 145

Within the Heartscape Illusion, Jiang taught Li Ye advanced methods and recognized details of Li Ye's hidden abilities. After teaching Li Ye how to establish a Heart Soil field, his illusory body dissipated and sent Li Ye to the illusion's outer layer. 146 147

His kindness is complicated by his connection to the Hell Dao. He can be calculating and provocative, deliberately driving Li Ye toward conflict while seeming to seek his own death. His actions in East Cang Town revealed both access to Hell Dao forces and a desperate willingness to use others as material for an army. 253 254 255
