Background / History

Blood Axe spent sixty years as a bounty hunter, killing countless people and accumulating considerable wealth. Despite that career, he described himself as having no friends, family, or place to belong—only his axe and a lifetime of slaughter 485.

He operated from an underground base on an abandoned mining planet, where approximately three hundred bounty hunters gathered around him. Possessing a crystal chip containing a Consortium secret, he intended to sell its information and collect the Consortium’s fifty-million-star-coin bounty on Lin Feng 484.

After his hunters failed to stop Lin Feng, Blood Axe fought him personally. His heavy axe blows initially forced Lin Feng backward, but Lin Feng damaged his armor and survived his strongest attack. Defeated, Blood Axe surrendered the crystal chip 484.

Blood Axe then asked to follow Lin Feng, hoping to find a different way of living. Lin Feng warned that the journey would be dangerous, but accepted him after Blood Axe declared that he was not afraid to die 485.

Appearance

Blood Axe is a heavily muscled man whose build is repeatedly compared to an iron tower. His appearance changes substantially as injuries and physical reconstruction alter his body 484 512 536.

• Initial appearance: Tall and burly, wearing black heavy combat armor and carrying an enormous bloodstained battle-axe 484.
• Battle scars: His exposed muscles bear extensive scars from near-fatal wounds; he often fights bare-chested or in a tattered tactical vest 514.
• Post-reconstruction body: Compresses from over two meters tall to approximately 1.90 meters, with an intense dark-gold sheen across his muscles 536.
• Hair: Has disheveled hair during the refugee-camp battle, but is described as bald in later chapters 514 597 616.
• Voice: Deep and oppressive at his introduction; later described as low and hoarse or resembling a cracked gong 484 514 581.

Personality

Blood Axe initially acts as a profit-driven mercenary, organizing a group attack to claim Lin Feng’s bounty. His decision to abandon that life comes from dissatisfaction rather than fear: wealth and slaughter have left him without meaningful relationships 484 485.

As Lin Feng’s follower, he becomes fiercely protective of civilians and comrades. He refuses to retreat while more than ten thousand refugees remain behind him, then protests Scarface’s order to incinerate infected people because they are still human and conscious 514 515.

He is coarse-spoken, boastful, and eager for combat. Farming leaves him restless, and he resents higher-dimensional beings who treat others as inferior creatures. That aggression can become recklessness: he attacks the Logic Firewall before Stark can finish warning him and must be rescued 524 565 597.

His bravado does not eliminate fear or exhaustion. The refugee crisis leaves him gaunt and dispirited, while enemies that invalidate physical combat repeatedly shock him. He nevertheless continues fighting after severe injuries, including the loss of a leg 512 547 552 564.

• Limit: Greater size does not guarantee greater durability; the False God knocks his enlarged body backward for over one hundred kilometers 546.

His later defenses combine internal blood power with protections granted through Lin Feng and the Great Thousand Universe 518 595 608.

• Lin Feng’s rule imprint makes the Abyss sludge’s corrosive liquid evaporate on contact with his skin 520.
• Circulating Pangu true blood allows him to regrow flesh erased from his chest by Purger rays 595.
• The Great Thousand Universe’s energy heals his crushed chest after the Neutron Star Behemoth knocks him unconscious 607 608.

His reforged weapons and later transformations allow him to attack higher-dimensional defenses and digital structures 536 537 600.

• Kills a frontier commander despite a Probability Weapon declaring that his attack must miss; the axe overloads the fortress mainframe 537.
• Gains program-cleaving axes during the Legion’s hyperdimensional leap 600.
• Limit: This is not universal immunity to probability or logic manipulation. Later Purger robots force his attacks to miss, and the Logic Firewall turns his axes into balloons and his armor into cardboard 596 597.
