Planet Selma

Planet Selma lay in the southern star region of the North Galaxy. It was a low-level planet, and so far, only primitive races existed there. There were no signs of civilization.

Because the Saiyans served Frieza, every mission issued by Planet Vegeta was in service of Frieza's forces.

This time was no exception. Chaya and Selyne's mission was to wipe out the primitive races on Planet Selma, then hand the planet over to Frieza's forces to be sold.

To put it bluntly, the Saiyans were merely Frieza's thugs—and the kind he could discard at any time.

Legend had it that every thousand years, a golden-haired super warrior would be born among the Saiyans. Such rumors could not be fully trusted; even the Saiyans themselves did not really believe them. But Frieza truly harbored such concerns, so the best approach was to keep the Saiyans under his watchful eye, monitor them, and study their habits along the way.

However, no Saiyan worthy of his attention had appeared so far. Otherwise, Frieza would probably have been the first to want to exterminate the Saiyans.

Chaya was extremely excited about the upcoming mission, because he would soon be leaving Planet Vegeta. This would be the first step on his path to becoming strong.

As for the mission assigned to him by Planet Vegeta, he felt it could be delayed and did not take it to heart. Once he left Planet Vegeta, what could possibly control him? When to turn in the mission would be entirely up to him.

"Mm, I can train on Selma for a while first. After a few years, once my body has grown sturdier, I can head elsewhere in the universe. At that point, should I go to Earth first, or Namek? Both seem like pretty good choices."

Chaya was practically bubbling with delight as he began planning how to arrange his time ahead.

Very soon, the day Chaya and Selyne were to depart arrived.

That day, Rebecca and her husband personally escorted Chaya and Selyne to Planet Vegeta's Spaceport, located on the other side of the royal city.

It was a modern Spaceport spanning several kilometers, the main passage connecting Planet Vegeta to outer space. Around it stood enormous lighthouse-like structures across several square kilometers of land. In the open space enclosed by those towers were sunken pads made of rubber-like material, each one a landing site for spacecraft.

In the short while Chaya and the others entered the Spaceport, dozens of spherical aircraft landed or took off from the landing sites one after another.

"Chaya, be careful once you reach Planet Selma. Don't let your guard down just because it's a low-level planet. If you encounter danger, run if you can. Don't try to fight head-on."

Adri looked at Chaya with a serious expression as he spoke.

Ever since the Adri Squad had been completely wiped out, Adri's views on missions and life had changed.

Seeing Chaya nod, he turned to his daughter, Selyne, and instructed, "You're weaker than Chaya. Don't be naughty when you get there. Listen to Chaya more."

"Got it!" Selyne blinked her little eyes, her face full of smiles.

"Xia, take good care of Selyne. Finish the mission early and come back." Rebecca looked reluctant to part with them as she stepped forward and embraced the two children.

"I'll take good care of Selyne."

Chaya nodded earnestly, then stepped into his own aircraft.

It was a small spherical aircraft. Once Chaya lay down inside, its hatch closed automatically. Through the blue-green glass, Chaya saw Rebecca and her husband standing some distance away, waving at them.

A trace of parting sorrow rose in Chaya's heart, and his eyes grew slightly misty.

After waving outside the ship, Chaya pressed the launch button. A downward force suddenly slammed onto his body, and the entire aircraft shot straight upward as though propelled by immense power.

Before long, it had left Planet Vegeta's atmosphere and entered the vast, dark sea of stars.

Because the spherical aircraft was incredibly fast, it left a long trail of white light behind it.

Through the ship's glass, Chaya watched the dark-red Planet Vegeta rapidly recede. Soon, it became a tiny point of light and vanished from view.

Not far behind him, another spherical aircraft followed closely. It was Selyne's ship. At that moment, Selyne had pressed herself against the glass, her little face looking all around before her gaze drifted toward him.

"Looks like the little girl is a little nervous."

Chaya smiled, sent Selyne a message through the ship's communicator, then entered sleep mode.

Selma was very far from Planet Vegeta. The ship would need seven months to reach it. After all, Earth was only one month's journey from Namek.

Selma was merely a low-level planet. According to the universe's classification of planets, worlds with a maximum battle power below 1,000 were classified as low-level planets; those with maximum battle power between 1,000 and 10,000 were intermediate-level planets; and those with maximum battle power above 10,000 were high-level planets.

Therefore, the creatures on Selma should all have battle power below 1,000. With Chaya and Selyne's current battle powers of 410 and 370, they would not encounter much danger as long as they were careful.

By Chaya's estimate, in only a few years, his battle power would completely surpass the highest battle power on Selma.

In the boundless universe, countless stars twinkled across the pitch-black sky, like an enormous painting slowly unfolding.

Two bright streaks flashed through the darkness, then quickly disappeared. They were two milky-white spherical aircraft.

In the blink of an eye, seven months had passed since Chaya and Selyne left Planet Vegeta, and their destination, Selma, was already close at hand.

With a beep, the ship automatically exited sleep mode, and Chaya slowly awoke.

Before his eyes was a massive azure planet.

"So that's Selma?"

Chaya thought in surprise. Compared to Planet Vegeta's dark-red hue, Selma's colors were more elegant and beautiful.

Selma was located in a binary star system and had two suns. For most of each day, it was daytime. Its unique planetary position also gave Selma scenery unlike any other.

Selma's atmosphere was azure. Its oceans covered less than forty percent of the planet, while the rest was land. Aside from the icy regions at the poles, vegetation grew everywhere else. It was a beautiful planet filled with green.

That day, a sudden roar shattered the tranquility of Selma's skies.

Two spherical objects glowing red suddenly fell from the sky, one after the other. Two successive thunderous booms rang out as the violent impacts flung sand and rocks into the air, quickly turning the surroundings hazy.

Forests across a large area were destroyed by the impacts. A powerful shockwave spread outward from the crash sites, flattening countless towering trees and even uprooting entire trunks.

Gradually, the smoke formed by dust and sand dispersed, revealing a nearly hundred-meter-wide stretch of bare rock and sand that had been utterly transformed.

At the center of the exposed ground were two circular impact craters, each thirty meters across and five meters deep. Two spherical aircraft lay half-buried beneath the sand and rocks in the middle of the craters, thin wisps of blue smoke rising through the debris.

"Crack."

The aircraft hatch opened, and a child in a combat suit with a Tail growing from behind him crawled out.

Chaya lightly brushed the dust from his body and coughed twice. Then he moved to the other aircraft and knocked on its hatch, only to discover that Selyne's ship had crashed upside down, with its hatch pinned beneath it. He flipped the ship over, exposing the hatch.

With a click, the hatch opened, and Selyne crawled out as well.

"Big Brother Chaya, is this our destination?"

Selyne covered her mouth to wave away the dust around her, frowning in dissatisfaction.
