Adri could not help frowning, and his already somewhat dark face grew even darker.
He understood what Chaya meant. Preserving the Saiyan bloodline meant abandoning the vast majority of Saiyans. A gecko could sever its tail to survive, and what Chaya meant was abandoning the main body of their civilization, sacrificing the great to save the small. Only by doing that could a portion of the Saiyans survive.
For Adri and the others, however, that choice was extremely hard to make, because it went against the Saiyan education they had received since childhood and clashed with their spiritual ideals.
Yet they also had to admit that what Chaya said did make sense. Frieza was the enemy standing in the Saiyans' path, and from the very beginning, this enemy had been deeply wary of the Saiyans. On top of that, he possessed a power that drove people to despair.
"Are we left with no choice but to run? That's the act of a coward!" Beruk's face shifted between livid and pale, changing constantly.
"No. Avoiding the enemy's edge for the time being is absolutely not the act of a coward. On the contrary, being brave but brainless is the conduct of a true reckless fool. If you know you'll fail, why make pointless sacrifices? Just to uphold some so-called Saiyan spirit?" Chaya gave a cold laugh. "Stupid! That's gambling with the entire future of the Saiyans, sacrificing the future of all Saiyans to fulfill your own righteousness!"
"Does that kind of righteousness have any meaning at all?"
"None! Not only does it have no meaning whatsoever, it's an extremely selfish act!"
This was not the time to heroically resist the enemy. The time to stand up and fight was when the gap between both sides was not especially overwhelming, but the gap between the Saiyans and Frieza was too great—so great that the Saiyans should not resist at all. So in Chaya's view, doing something when you knew it could not be done was stupidity!
If they had the time to do that, they would be better off taking a few more Saiyans with them. At least that way, those people could survive!
The expressions of the Adri Squad members suddenly changed. They stared at Chaya in disbelief, and discovered that although his little face was still childish, he was glaring back at them with fearless eyes. Their hearts could not help trembling, and after a long while, they heaved a heavy sigh.
"All right. Perhaps you're right..." Adri backed down, shaking his head. For the continuation of the Saiyans, he could only sell out his own glory.
"Tell us your plan!" Beruk folded his arms across his chest, looking as if he were asking for an answer.
The scene had now become rather absurd. Several adult Saiyans were actually asking an underage child for advice. But ever since Chaya had said those words just now, no one treated him like a child anymore.
"Evacuate! Take a few Saiyans who have potential and can be trusted, and flee Planet Vegeta together! We need to find a safe place as our base for development, then slowly plan things out. One day, we'll make our comeback and make Frieza pay!"
"But since Frieza could install eavesdropping devices in Scouters, who's to say he didn't install tracking devices in the aircraft too? Where can we run?" Alice looked worried.
"No need to think about it. The aircraft must have been tampered with too!"
Beruk laughed coldly. This was not something that required much thought.
"Ugh, and with so many aliens already on Planet Vegeta, we really can't get away even if we sprout wings!" Alice wore a miserable expression, her shapely chest rising and falling, trembling slightly from anger.
The predicament the Saiyans currently faced could be described as trouble both at home and abroad!
Externally, no one knew when Frieza would launch an attack on the Saiyans. Internally, King Vegeta was urgently trying to start a rebellion, while the vast majority of Saiyans worshiped Frieza.
Relying on just the few of them to save the Saiyans was truly far, far too difficult!
"Right, Little Chaya, how do you know so much?" Rebecca asked in puzzlement.
Everyone came back to their senses as well.
That was right. Everything up to now had been said by Chaya alone. It was not necessarily accurate!
"Because I have superpowers!" Chaya raised his head, smiled at them, and brought out the excuse he had prepared long ago.
Superpowers—nothing was more convincing than that. The world of Dragon Ball had superpowers to begin with, and there were even quite a few races with the ability to predict the future. The only difference lay in the strength and reliability of their predictions.
"You can predict the future?" The Adri Squad looked at him with doubt on their faces.
"No, I can't predict the future!" Chaya shook his head and said, "But I have the ability of Instant Transmission, and there are races in the universe that can predict the future. I went to them and asked!"
"To be precise, they opened part of the future's images for me, allowing me to know a limited future!"
Fine. That reason was very powerful!
The problem was, who knew whether he was making it up? There was simply no way to verify it!
And Instant Transmission sounded like quite an impressive ability!
"What Chaya said is true!"
At that moment, Selyne, who had been hiding in the room and eavesdropping, ran out with a patter of footsteps. She stubbornly raised her head and stood firmly on Chaya's side.
Chaya really did have superpowers. She had personally experienced that!
As for Chaya seeking out aliens to predict the future, since he said so, then it must have happened. That could also explain why he acted as if he knew everything.
"Uncle Adri, do you have any Scouters here that haven't had eavesdropping devices installed?" Chaya suddenly asked.
Adri had not expected Chaya to suddenly ask this, so he nodded and glanced toward Rebecca.
Rebecca immediately got up and went to the next room, bringing back a frame-style Scouter from inside. "We just had someone modify this Scouter. The eavesdropping device has already been removed. Little Chaya, what do you need it for?"
"Just like Selyne said earlier, I actually awakened some superpowers by accident while carrying out a mission on Selma. After developing them, I can use a skill called 'Instant Transmission'!"
"Everyone, hold hands! Whatever you do, don't let go!" Chaya shouted loudly at the stunned crowd.
Although the members of Adri Squad did not quite understand, they still followed his instructions and held hands. Adri held Rebecca's hand, then Beruk, Paradi, Alice, and Lize all joined hands one after another. Chaya took Selyne's hand as well, and with hand linked to hand, the eight of them formed a circle.
"I'm going to activate Instant Transmission. Everyone, do not let go!"
After Chaya finished speaking, he closed his eyes and began mobilizing his spatial superpower deep in his heart. Whoosh! A whirlwind appeared out of thin air, and the smooth space instantly seemed to be fitted with countless neon lights, flashing one after another with dazzling radiance...
Whoosh—
As soon as Chaya's thoughts moved, Instant Transmission activated at once, and several people vanished from the hall into thin air.
The next second, on a desolate planet extremely far from Planet Vegeta, a cold whirlwind swept across the land. Yellow sand filled the sky, carrying fine particles as it danced through the air. Because it had just endured the baptism of an ultra-powerful storm, the entire planet was in a state of chaos and disorder.
This was a desolate, lifeless planet, where ultra-powerful storms could strike at any moment. Strangely, although there was no life here, a thick atmosphere enveloped the planet.
Atop a towering hill.
A wild wind howled as it battered the ground. Because the temperature stayed below freezing year-round, the surface soil had become as hard as steel. Under the erosion of wind and frost, the rocks gradually cracked and loosened; the slightest tremor was enough to send great chunks peeling away and rolling down the mountainside.
A soft, soundless glow suddenly appeared atop the hill, and then eight figures emerged where the light had vanished.
Alice felt only a brief spell of dizziness. When she opened her eyes, she found that what met her gaze was a bleak, dim scene.
"Huh? Where exactly is this? How did we suddenly get here?"
This was not a scene she knew!
And it was even less Planet Vegeta. Could they have already left Planet Vegeta?
"This is Barren Planet, at least ten days' travel from Planet Vegeta."
Beruk observed the surrounding scenery and, drawing on his past experience, roughly judged where they were.
Barren Planet was a lifeless world only a dozen or so days' travel from Planet Vegeta. Although it did have air, its harsh conditions meant it was often struck by planetary-scale storms. To Saiyans, it held little value and did not even qualify as a transit station, so it had been left abandoned, with no one taking it over.
"Could this be the power of Instant Transmission? It actually brought us here in an instant!" Rebecca said in disbelief.
A moment ago, they had still been chatting on Planet Vegeta, and in the next second, they had appeared on the distant Barren Planet. Even by spaceship, the trip would take at least ten days. Instant Transmission was truly an astonishing ability!
