Choosing a New Mission

The night had grown late.

At dinner, Chaya took out the food he had bought on Earth from his Dimensional Space.

The family faced the mountain of food and dug in. Clatter and bang—the towering stacks of food vanished bit by bit at an astonishing speed, and before long, only a few empty plates and scattered piles of bones were left. All that food had gone into the stomachs of four Saiyans.

"Ah, that feels so good. Chaya, this food of yours is seriously delicious." Rebecca leaned back in her chair in a decidedly ungraceful manner. After eating the food Chaya had brought, she had completely lost interest in the food on Planet Vegeta.

"Aunt Rebecca, I don't have that much food. You'll have to ration it a little." Chaya smiled wryly. The food he had brought from Earth had originally been enough to last three or four years, but in just these past few days, a tenth of it had already been consumed.

Adult Saiyans' appetites were actually that much larger than theirs. He was starting to regret taking out so much food.

At this rate, my food will be used up soon. Do I need to go to Earth again to get more? Chaya pondered silently. But going to Earth for such a trivial matter seemed a bit like making a mountain out of a molehill, didn't it?

After dinner, Adri came over carrying a stack of documents. They recorded information on missions related to the Fidayans and the area near Planet Frieza.

"Chaya, these are Planet Frieza's coordinates. The closest mission point to it is only about seven days away! And these are the missions that are relatively nearby." As Adri spoke, he handed over a mission list issued by the Mission Management Office.

Chaya skimmed through the missions on the list and, after a brief comparison, thought for a moment before saying, "Mm, let's choose the Planet Longju mission. The difficulty of that mission is just right for our squad."

Adri nodded and handed over Planet Longju's information.

"That works too. After a Saiyan squad is formed, it would draw suspicion if they didn't carry out missions for too long. You can also use the opportunity to test the squad members. They might become your future core team!"

Adri knew that once a portion of the Saiyans withdrew in the future, Chaya would definitely be the one leading them.

First, only he had the ability of Instant Transmission. It could be said that he would be the one who saved all the Saiyans' lives. Second, Chaya's battle power was the highest among all Saiyans, and Saiyans only obeyed the strong. Having Chaya serve as the new leader was perfectly fitting.

And when that time came, it would be impossible for him to personally handle everything. He would have to form his own core team. The Saiyans currently in the same squad were all Mid-Class Warriors, and if they performed well, they would be the obvious choice.

In truth, Adri was helping Chaya so wholeheartedly not only because Chaya was his nephew and adopted son, but even more because he was considering his daughter, Selyne. Right now, both of them were the most outstanding warriors among the Saiyans, and they just so happened to be a boy and a girl.

In Adri's heart, if Chaya and Selyne could end up together in the future, they would truly be a perfect match.

Of course, how things turned out in the end would still depend on their own wishes.

Chaya nodded slightly.

That was exactly what he was planning to do. Shakuda and the others were the first batch of Saiyans he had come into contact with, and he felt their personalities were decent enough. Though they had picked up some of the usual Saiyan arrogance, those were all minor issues that didn't matter.

As long as all their indicators met his requirements, he planned to devote himself fully to training them.

The next day, the sky was dim.

A thin mist lay over the residential district like a layer of gauze, dreamlike and illusory.

Early in the morning, Chaya sent the information on the new mission to every member of the squad through the communicator and asked them to gather at the designated location as soon as possible.

Before long, Atasia was the first to arrive at the meeting point. After seeing Chaya and Selyne, she came forward and greeted them, then happily chatted with Selyne off to the side. In any case, it was all girl talk, and Chaya had no interest in going over to listen, so he found a rock and sat down, slowly waiting for the other team members to arrive.

The second to arrive was Shakuda. Wearing a new-style shoulderless battle suit, he flew over and greeted Chaya very politely when he reached his side.

The one shouting was the burly boy Belit. His strength was not high, but his tone was anything but modest. He often bickered with Reida.

Atasia finished her conversation with Selyne and walked over. Hearing Belit's arrogant words, she could not help mocking him.

A short while later, after they waited at the designated location for a bit, Jelin and Reida arrived one after the other. They briefly exchanged a few words, and then, under Chaya's lead, the group headed toward the Spaceport.

After that, they boarded their aircraft and set off toward the target planet, Planet Longju.

Planet Longju was located in the southeastern part of the North Galaxy, already very close to the eastern region of the North Galaxy. The aircraft would need to fly for more than two months before arriving. It was precisely because it lay at the boundary between two regions that Planet Frieza had not clearly been swallowed up by any other force.

The long journey passed in the blink of an eye. The dark-brown target planet was already close at hand, and Chaya and the others woke from hibernation one after another.

Seven scorching fireballs pierced through the atmosphere and smashed down. When they struck the ground, the enormous shock waves instantly kicked up dust and smoke that blotted out the sky. When the smoke and dust gradually dispersed, seven small figures appeared near the impact points.

After arriving on Planet Longju, Chaya looked at Selyne and instructed, "Selyne, I'll leave the mission to you from here."

After receiving Selyne's response, he headed alone into the dense rainforest and soon disappeared from sight.

Looking in the direction where Chaya had vanished, Selyne came back to her senses and said to Shakuda and the others, "This mission isn't very difficult. It's mainly a test for all of you, so Chaya and I won't make a move. You can show your skills to your hearts' content!"

Without batting an eye, Selyne covered for Chaya with a lie, describing this mission as a test for Shakuda and the others. Of course, this was also an important reason why Chaya had chosen Planet Longju from among the many available missions.

Planet Longju's overall power system was not very high, making it perfectly suited for Shakuda and the others to train.
