Different Choices

"What level of battle is this?" Krillin stared blankly at the clash between Chaya and Beerus, instinctively shrinking back as he shielded his wife and daughter behind him.

"This is terrifying. How are they supposed to fight without any Ki?"

"Are they both deities?" Piccolo drew a deep breath.

"I felt something like this back on Red Mountain Star." Son Goku frowned.

"Could this be the God-Refinement Path, the power of the realm Kusu spoke of?" Vegeta seemed to glimpse a great door before him, his expression turning excited. He suddenly looked toward Selyne and the others, vaguely feeling that they seemed different from before.

Floating five or six meters above the ground, Chaya and Beerus faced each other. Kusu and Whis hovered behind them, each holding a divine staff.

The two groups stood in exactly the same formation.

Suddenly, Chaya smiled. "God of Destruction Beerus, you've grown stronger again. Do you cultivate even while you sleep?"

Beerus curled his lip. "You're not bad yourself, God of Destruction Chaya. With double the power of a God of Destruction, plus the power of the Time God, I'm no longer your match."

"If I'm not mistaken, you've already reached... the fourth level of the Realm of Gods, haven't you?"

"That's right. I broke through a few years ago." Chaya answered readily.

Beerus had only been making a guess, but he never expected Chaya to have truly reached the fourth level of the Realm of Gods. He nearly lost his breath, then took a deep inhale and said complicatedly, "So that means no God of Destruction can rival you now. I never thought you would truly surpass me. Being overtaken like this feels awful."
