Background / History
Hongjun was a Chaos God-Fiend slain by Pangu. He reversed life and death to reincarnate in the Primordial World, where he competed with other reincarnated divine demons for authority over the Heavenly Dao and ultimately merged with it 594.
At Purple Heaven Palace, he passed down three methods of attaining sainthood. The Three Pure Ones, Nuwa, and Fuxi were among his disciples, and he became the first being universally revered as a Dao Ancestor 594 669 685.
He did not appear during the God-Fiend Calamity, even as the Six Saints fell. Su Changqing's group later found him among nineteen Dao Ancestors in a realm within the Dead Abyss, comprehending the Pangu Great Dao 685.

Hongjun appears as an elderly Daoist seated amid an immeasurable Great Dao 685.
Personality
Hongjun shows little attachment to the fate of the Pangu World. When Kunpeng questions his inaction, he says he intends to return the world to the Five Elements because he considers it flawed 686.
