Background / History

Ji Xingyue was born to Emperor Ji Yunwen and Noble Consort Wu. Her maternal uncle, Lord Wu'an, was a renowned general and Martial Saint; after he vanished during a southern expedition, Consort Wu was framed and banished to the Cold Palace. Following her mother's death, Ji Xingyue—despite being a princess—was sent to the Clean Clothes Workshop and bullied. 94 112

During her years in the Cold Palace, Su Changqing saved her while concealing his identity as “Li Kongxiang.” Ji Xingyue remembered the black-clad rescuer and later described him as the person who had come to her when she had no one left. 6 94
