"I don't know. I was just summoned here." Astolfo immediately shook his head.
"Same here. I came to repay my Master's kindness."
Astolfo and d'Eon explained in turn why and when they had come to this Singularity. By the count of it, they had only been summoned slightly earlier than Mash and Ritsuka. Before they could investigate the area, they sensed Mash and Ritsuka's group and immediately came over.
"I see. We could detect the Demon God Pillar's presence before, but after arriving in this Singularity, we couldn't sense it anymore. It looks like we'll have to investigate this place first."
"Which direction should we go next?" With no concrete information, Mash, Ritsuka, and the others looked at the four nearly identical surroundings, uncertain which way to proceed. Choosing correctly would be fine, but choosing wrong would undoubtedly make their investigation much harder.
"There are definitely humans in that direction." Astolfo looked around, then pointed in one direction and called out.
"Then let's head that way first."
Looking in the direction Astolfo pointed, the group discussed it for a while before deciding to trust his intuition. Though Astolfo's reason occasionally evaporated, he also possessed the skill Intuition. Rather than risk heading in another direction, they might as well trust it.
"Are you sure it's this way?" An hour later, Mash began to doubt whether they were going in the right direction as she looked at the mountains in the distance. They had encountered quite a few creatures along the way, but there had not been the slightest sign of human presence.
"Trust me, it can't be wrong. Ritsuka, get some rest first. I'll scout ahead and come back." Astolfo ignored Mash's doubts and remained full of confidence.
"Be careful," Ritsuka called after Astolfo's retreating figure.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine."
