Jing Zhen was an elder of Bodhi Temple by the time Jiang Chuan entered its Chore Yard. He assigned Jiang Chuan and Jing Hui to watch Senior Golden Wind and prevent her from consuming spiritual medicines and treasures that could endanger her unborn child. 11

He developed a reputation among younger disciples for exploiting temple labor. Jiang Chuan resented him for past exploitation, while Jing Hui was assigned stable-cleaning and firewood-chopping duties during a Spirit Beast Courtyard task. 24 42 Jing Zhen also treated the Spirit Beast Hall as a hands-off responsibility, leaving Jiang Chuan and Jing Hui to manage its missions. 45

Jing Zhen harbored resentment toward Abbot Kong Ming and aspired to become the abbot himself. Jiang Chuan later overheard him planning to kill Jiang Chuan to conceal the secret that Kong Ming had a daughter with the East Pole Sect's Sect Master. 65 Despite this, he subsequently fought beside Bodhi Temple against Maha Hall and helped prioritize Jiang Chuan's safety after the Flying Boat ambush. 67 68

His advancement was closely tied to the Twenty-Four Heavens, which he called Bodhi Temple's foremost divine ability. He used it to forge his Immortal Foundation and became the only known cultivator in Bodhi Temple's history to master it; even Abbot Kong Ming had not done so. 150 439
