When Demon Clan forces bypassed the Safe Zones and attacked, Li Yun joined Xuandu on the battlefield and drove the invading Demonic Beasts into retreat.

• Xuanming revealed that the Earthly Dao could help the Ancestor Witches become Saints, and Houtu agreed to lead the restoration of the Earth Veins with Zhen Yuanzi's help.
• Laozi brought Li Yun and Shao Lin to Kunlun Mountain, where Yuanshi Tianzun accepted Shao Lin into the Chan Teachings and the Three Pure Ones discussed plans for the Human Race.
• Li Yun awakened the hidden talents of Luochuan and Luoyang, while Guyue's bloodline remained beyond his ability to unlock.
• The Three Pure Ones sent Li Yun, Zhenwu, Kong Xuan, and disciples from their Sects to establish Safe Zones and secretly move Human Race members to safety.

• Li Yun learned that the Demon Clan’s Jade Talismans could evade the Taiji Diagram, then set out to rescue humans and prevent the Witch Slaughtering Sword from being forged.
• At Great Mountain, Li Yun killed a Quasi-Saint Demon God and destroyed a Heavenly Dao Avatar inside a Jade Talisman, gaining the Blazing Heavenly Might Trait.
• Li Yun returned to the Human Ancestral Land and began transferring clansmen into the Twenty-Four Heavens, then rescued more people while defending Stone City with Zhenwu and the Chan Teachings disciples.
• Li Yun killed the Demon Gods besieging Stone City and shattered the Witch Slaughtering Sword, drawing the trapped Human Race spirits into the Divine Soul Space in his left eye.

Li Yun uncovered the Demon Clan’s slaughter of the Human Race and warned the Three Pure Ones and Ancestor Witches about the Witch Slaughtering Swords. After the Saints restored Mount Sumeru and confronted Nuwa, the Demon Clan agreed to withdraw, and Laozi sought Nuwa’s help locating Li Yun’s destined Lingbao.

• Li Yun moved the rescued Human Race into the Twenty-Four Heavens, then infiltrated the Demon Clan as a Crow Spirit to search for its Jade Talisman.
• Heavenly Eye Yao God and two Demon Gods trapped Li Yun and swept him through a Space Tunnel, leaving him stranded far from the East Sea nearly three hundred years later.
• Li Yun rescued surviving humans, confronted the Demon Clan, and met Eastern Emperor Taiyi, who ordered his forces to withdraw and compensate the families of fallen clansmen.
• Li Yun told the Three Pure Ones and Twelve Ancestor Witches that the Demon Clan was killing humans to forge Witch Slaughtering Swords, then revealed how Merit could help the Witch Clan develop True Spirits.

After containing the suspects and alerting the Three Pure Ones, he learned Duobao and Guang Chengzi had joined the Western Teachings and prepared to meet Laozi.

• Li Yun rejected Golden Phoenix’s plan to bring Kong Xuan and Da Peng back to the Phoenix Clan, then traded Pan Wang the Method of Attaining Dao for the Heaven and Earth Xuanhuang Ruler.
