Background / History

Ganatica was born to a poor commoner family; his ancestors were farmers, and he had no surname. Punk identified his genius-level Combatant talent, abducted him from Glimmer Town, and placed him in Iron Bucket City as part of a plan involving a “pawn of Fate.” 611

At age twelve, he awoke alone in Iron Bucket City’s frozen slums, frightened and unable to return home. Pandora, an alchemy golem sent to guide him, became his companion. The two survived by begging rather than turning to crime, since Pandora’s mission required Ganatica to become a righteous hero. 613 615

Under Pandora’s influence, Ganatica came to blame noble taxation for the poor’s suffering. He resolved to protect the impoverished, became a Formal Level warrior, and founded the Mutual Aid Society. His leadership centered on extreme generosity: he spent the group’s funds on famine relief and organized raids on noble grain stores to feed starving civilians. 616 619 620 623

The raid on Mosenkai Manor ended in disaster when a grey crystal killed the Society’s members and threatened Ganatica’s soul. Pandora saved him, but the catastrophe left him physically weakened and politically vulnerable. 627 631

Akto and other Mutual Aid leaders ultimately betrayed Ganatica, becoming nobles and arranging Pandora’s death. Witnessing Pandora’s severed head and hearing his former comrades mock his ideals destroyed his faith in kindness. 644 645

After confronting Punk about Pandora’s true nature and Punk’s role in his life, Ganatica embraced vengeance.
