Background / History

Sasuke was the younger brother of Uchiha Itachi and the son of Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Mikoto. During the Uchiha Clan Downfall, Itachi killed their parents before Sasuke's eyes, then subjected him to Tsukuyomi and made him repeatedly witness the clan's murder. The trauma awakened Sasuke's One-Tomoe Sharingan and fixed his hatred on Itachi. 20

Before the massacre, Sasuke was already fiercely protective of the Uchiha name. He challenged Naruto at the academy after declaring that he would preserve the clan's glory, and reacted intensely when Naruto displayed a fighting style resembling Shisui's. 18

He later entered Team Seven alongside Naruto and Sakura under Kakashi Hatake. Naruto's extreme growth repeatedly unsettled him, while Sakura's own rapid development made him fear being left behind.
