James: Does Old Snivellus Deserve Levicorpus?
The LeMay family's house wasn't very big, considering that Nicolas Perenelle and his wife had to be able to walk, so the entrance wasn't far from the Living Room.
Therefore, it was impossible for Dumbledore and Snape, who were at the door, not to hear the roaring in the Living Room.
Snape's expression immediately turned serious. He felt that the voice was very familiar, extremely familiar.
Who would dare call him that at Hogwarts? Could it be...?
He looked up and saw James Potter, one foot on a chair, passionately writing.
Almost at first glance, Snape knew that this was James Potter himself.
The hatred between the two was so immense that even if James was Fiendfyre and mixed with the dirt, Snape could still sift out James's ashes bit by bit from that pile of ashes.
The conflict between the two men is no longer a simple feud over school bullying; it also involves the hatred of someone stealing your wife.
Snape's childhood sweetheart, his lifelong ideal, his angel of salvation, was stolen away by James Potter...
Pain!
It hurts so much!
Snape felt like he couldn't breathe just thinking about it.
but...
Even so, Snape did not immediately go looking for trouble with James, but instead searched around the meeting room with hope.
As expected, he was not disappointed. On the other side of James, he found the figure he had been longing for and dreaming of.
"Lily?"
He murmured the woman's name.
However, to everyone's surprise, Snape's first reaction was not to go to the meeting room, but to turn around and leave Mr. LeMay's cottage.
"What's old Snivellus?" Sirius asked, holding a teapot.
"Maybe his clothes are covered in big oil stains, and he forgot to change them," James said, delivering the ultimate sarcastic remark to Snape.
Thankfully Snape isn't here right now, otherwise, the Sectumsempra's Levicorpus would have been inevitable.
At this moment, Dumbledore also walked to the table in the Living Room.
"Can anyone tell me what happened while I was away from school?"
Sirius happily recounted everything that had just happened, including Pabbie's resurrection and how Harry used the Gem of Desire to try and heal Anne, but instead summoned his parents instead.
After listening, Dumbledore shook his head and exclaimed, "Magic, it's truly amazing..."
"Welcome to the future, thirteen years from now," Dumbledore said to James and Lily after his remark. "I never imagined I would reunite with you two in this way..."
"In fact, we both saw you yesterday." James winked at Dumbledore. "You even tried to persuade me to make you our Secret Keeper..."
After a moment's recollection, Dumbledore knew exactly when James and Lily had traveled to thirteen years in the future.
He hesitated for a moment, then smiled with relief.
However, James ' next question was a soul-searching one.
"But I've always been curious, who leaked the news about Harry?"
"What is it?" Dumbledore raised an eyebrow, feigning ignorance.
"Yes, that Prophecy about Trelawney." James's sharp gaze fell on Dumbledore. "I don't believe Voldemort possesses omniscience or omnipotence; someone must have leaked the information to him... I suspect it was Snivellus, right?"
Dumbledore rubbed his fingers and sighed softly, "Yes, you guessed right, it was indeed Severus who leaked this information..."
James gave a cold, knowing smile, as if he had expected this all along.
In fact, he never hesitated to speculate about Snape with the utmost malice.
In his view, only shady, sneaky people like Snivellus would secretly inform on others.
Harry was somewhat surprised, as he had only just learned that Professor Snape had betrayed his parents.
If James and Lily weren't here, he would definitely go and settle scores with Snape.
The problem is that the person in question is right here, so Harry can only sit here and watch.
"No wonder Professor Snape was always so awkward," Harry said with a sudden realization. "So that's why..."
Sirius patted his knees, striking a pose like a Muggle world detective solving a case.
"Yes, on the one hand, he doesn't like you—you could even say he hates you—because you look like James; on the other hand, he feels guilty for that reason, so he's a little nicer to you... But personally, I think that someone like Snivellus doesn't feel guilty at all, and his kindness to you is for other reasons."
Harry knew the reason without Sirius saying it.
It was only because Snape secretly harbored feelings for Lily that he would occasionally have a pang of conscience and realize that this child was not only James Potter's son, but also Lily Evans's child.
Yes, in Snape's mind, he never acknowledged Lily Potter; he only acknowledged Lily Evans.
But this is something that can only be thought about in one's heart, after all, Lily has already married James, which is an indisputable fact.
If you're asking whether Snape was pitiful or not, then he really... deserved it.
Just from the fact that he called the girl he loved a "Mudblood," it's clear that Lily's decision to break off their friendship was entirely his own fault.
"Oh." James raised an eyebrow. "I'd rather he was nicer to Harry out of guilt, but we all know that slimes don't have hearts."
"James!" Lily whispered a reprimand.
After being scolded like that, James immediately turned into a good boy, even sitting obediently and staring at Lily with bright eyes, his face full of admiration.
"Sometimes I think, maybe your Animagus should be a dog instead," Sirius retorted mercilessly. "Look at you, I said that a long time ago, didn't I?"
"Oh, shut up, Sirius!" James rolled his eyes.
Clearly, as a close friend, Sirius would never miss an opportunity to make a sarcastic remark about James.
"But what intrigues me even more is..." James pondered for a moment before asking, "Why would you accept Snivellus into Hogwarts as a teacher? Dumbledore? You know, he's Death Eater's steadfastly following Voldemort."
"His name is Severus, James," Dumbledore sighed. "At least he's a professor at Hogwarts now..."
"I'm already being very lenient by not pulling out my wand and giving him Levicorpus, Dumbledore!" James rolled his eyes lazily. "He's Death Eater betrayed me and Lily. Do you think I'd treat him well?"
What you said makes so much sense, I'm speechless...
Dumbledore thought about it and realized that it made sense, so he stopped correcting James's "slip of the tongue".
Oh well, if it's going to rain, it's going to rain; if a mother wants to remarry, she'll just let it be.
"After hearing Trelawney's Prophecy, Severus immediately informed Voldemort, but he didn't know that the child mentioned in the Prophecy was Harry." Dumbledore paused for a moment, organized his thoughts, and continued, "When he learned that the child was Harry, he found me, expressed his remorse, and promised to protect Harry and Lily on the condition that I become a double agent for him."
James's face darkened, then turned slightly purple.
No, you fucking...
You stinky Snivellus, why would you need to worry about my wife and find someone to protect her?
That filthy, stupid Snivellus, I'll do it myself...
Sirius, standing nearby, lowered his head, seemingly trying to suppress a laugh.
He wouldn't normally be able to laugh, but the problem is that James and Lily have now arrived in this era, which means they won't die, so laughing isn't a big deal.
Sirius had witnessed plenty of James's embarrassing moments; he knew his wife was always covered in sticky Snivellus.
That Snivellus was indeed still up to his old tricks; if it were Sirius, he would have found it utterly intolerable.
"And then?" James asked, barely containing his anger.
"And then?" Dumbledore smiled and said to James, "He gave me a lot of useful information, such as when Voldemort would make his move to Godric's Hollow to find your family... But Peter betrayed us; he sold you and Lily to Voldemort, so... you know what happened next."
When Sirius was recounting all this, he didn't mention Peter's betrayal to James.
He knew that James was always a sentimental person, and that he trusted his friends wholeheartedly.
He was afraid James wouldn't be able to accept this devastating news.
Sure enough, James's face froze upon hearing the news.
He asked, somewhat uncertainly, "What did you say? Who betrayed me and Lily?"
"It's Pettigrew." Dumbledore didn't have many reservations; he said whatever came to mind.
Sure enough, James fell into a long silence after hearing the name.
"James? Darling?" Lily knew James's personality. She reached out and stroked James's back, trying to calm her husband's raging anger.
It took James a long time to snap out of his silence.
"Wormtail betrayed me..." James looked up and murmured, "I trusted him so much... Merlin, I even considered him my own brother, but why? Why would he do such a thing?!"
"According to Pettigrew's testimony, he betrayed you and joined Voldemort a year ago," Dumbledore said, then added, "When I say a year ago, I mean 1980, not 1993."
"So he had already betrayed us so long ago..."
James clutched his head, his eyes filled with despair. "I trusted him all along, but why... his Animagus is a rat; if he wanted to hide, he wouldn't be harmed at all. Why would he even consider joining Voldemort?"
"Nobody knows why, but under the influence of the Truth Serum, he tells us that he was just out of fear," Dumbledore said with a shake of his head and a sigh.
"It's all in the past, and Peter got what he deserved." Sirius patted James on the other shoulder. "Relax, brother—at least you're both still alive, aren't you? Gem of Desire —hey, that's really amazing."
However, James still looked ashen-faced; he had not yet emerged from the shadow of Peter's betrayal.
"That's far from the truth, Mr. Potter."
Cassandra suddenly spoke, drawing the attention of the people at the table.
No one expected that Cassandra, who was always aloof from strangers, would suddenly speak.
James slowly raised his head and looked at Cassandra with a puzzled expression.
"Miss Malfoy means..."
"I mean, Peter did far more than that—" Cassandra curled her lips. "You know what? After betraying you, he even framed Mr. Black, Mr. Black spent twelve years in Azkaban for it, while he himself became a rat and eked out a living in the Weasley family for twelve years... If Harry hadn't discovered Pettigrew's true identity, he probably would have continued to hide, and Mr. Black would have continued to be wrongfully imprisoned."
James was stunned. He never imagined that his good brother would suffer such an injustice and spend so long in prison in Azkaban.
In the Magical World, Azkaban's formidable reputation is known to everyone from Ireland to the Khitan.
Everyone knows that any good person who gets locked up in Azkaban will go in normal and come out insane.
"Yes," Pabbie added, "Sirius saw Pettigrew turned into a mouse in the newspaper, which is why he escaped from Azkaban to protect Harry from this villain— the Ministry of Magic went to great lengths, even sending Dementor to hunt him down. Poor Mr. Black had nothing to eat and had to eat mice and Giant Spider to fill his stomach..."
"Hey, it's nothing," Sirius said, looking up nonchalantly. "It's just a part of life..."
Sirius ...
Lily covered her face with her hands, tears streaming down her face.
Just thinking about the life Sirius lived made her heart ache.
In a sense, Sirius was also one of her adopted children, so how could she not feel sorry for him as a second mother?
"Dude."
James reached out and squeezed Sirius's shoulder. He didn't say anything, just nodded heavily to Sirius.
Men's friendships are less sentimental; everything is understood without words.
"Oh."
A greasy, dragging sound suddenly appeared.
"If this Black Dog had been a little smarter and found Dumbledore sooner to tell him the truth, he wouldn't have wasted so many years in Azkaban —oh, I forgot, dogs aren't exactly known for their intelligence..."
How could James tolerate such old Snivellus guy insulting his good brother?
"Old Snivellus!" He abruptly stood up, pulled his wand from his robes, and pointed it at Snape. "Do you owe me Levicorpus? If you wish, I'll grant your wish!"

(This is to pick up where the foreshadowing is from earlier, regarding "fallen angels" and "Lucifer," so there's less detail today. Actually, the plot has never really had anything to do with Western mythology, nothing at all— Voldemort's connection to the so-called Lucifer is actually with a character who has already appeared in the book and been described at length. Can you guess who it is? There's a prize for guessing correctly!)
