Who Could Expect First Year Students to Protect the Philosopher's Stone?
The first class the next morning was Professor Snape's Potions Class.
In his dazed state, Harry felt someone pushing him.
"Get up, Harry."
That's Seamus's voice.
"Today is Old Bat's class, do you want to get sprayed with his venom?"
That's Ron's voice.
"The Old Bat?" Harry rubbed his eyes.
"Oh, it's Snape," Ron explained to Harry considerately. "Fred and George said he was wearing a black robe and looked just like a bat."
Harry couldn't help but laugh out loud.
As they ate breakfast together that morning, Ron asked Harry in a low voice, "Harry, how was your night in the Forbidden Forest?"
"I think it's alright," Harry shrugged, scooping some baked beans in tomato sauce onto a piece of bread, then adding a slice of sausage and bacon. "The Forbidden Forest is indeed dangerous, but I made a friend in there. After we finish lunch, I'll take you to meet her."
"A new friend?" Ron's interest was immediately piqued. "Her? Could she be Centaurs?"
"No, it's Unicorn." Harry smiled mysteriously at Ron.
"Cool..." Hermione leaned closer with interest. "How did you two meet? Oh... I mean, I read in books that Unicorn usually only associate with the purest-hearted women, I never thought they would befriend boys?"
"Because a Dark Wizard attacked her, and I happened to be passing by and rescued her," Harry said truthfully.
"So how did you defeat that Dark Wizard?" Neville suddenly asked.
"I used a Harmless Minor Curses on him," Harry said, taking a bite of his bread.
The tangy and delicious baked beans in tomato sauce, along with the unique flavor of sausage and the smoky taste of bacon, satisfied Harry's empty stomach.
What else can I say?
Hermione became alert immediately upon hearing the phrase "Harmless Minor Curses."
"What did you say, Harry?" Hermione whispered. "You wouldn't... Oh my god, did you really use...?"
Hermione seemed to choke up for a moment at this point.
"Alright, alright, it's not a big deal to randomly try out spells like this when you're in danger, but... will no one notice?"
"No." Harry said, then suddenly thought of Fang.
Oh no, when I left with Hagrid yesterday, I forgot to take Fang with me, since he was under Stunning Spell.
"Hopefully it's alright," Harry thought, then spread some scrambled eggs on the toast, and after thinking for a moment, added some bacon and some sausage. Finally, he added a slice of tomato and a slice of cheese on top, making a delicious Meiji.
"No wonder."
Hermione changed the subject, but then she frowned again.
"But... why did that Dark Wizard attack Unicorn? You know, unicorns are extremely sacred and noble creatures. No matter the reason, attacking a Unicorn is an unforgivable crime..."
"Because of Unicorn Blood," Harry answered succinctly. "A Centaurs named Firenze told me that the Dark Wizard was using Unicorn Blood to prolong his life so that he could obtain the Philosopher's Stone to restore his life and power."
"No wonder." Hermione lowered her head, thought for a moment, and then asked again, "Then the question is, the Philosopher's Stone is right here in Hogwarts, who would dare to steal it right under Dumbledore's nose?"
"There's this guy who's been lying low for years, longing to make a comeback, but he's broken and battered—only this method can restore him to his peak form." Harry devoured his homemade Meiji in two bites. "Guess who it is?"
"Who is it?" Ron asked, taking a sip of Pumpkin Juice.
"It's Voldemort?!" Hermione hissed.
Upon hearing the name, Ron dropped the Pumpkin Juice in his hand and slammed it onto the table with a thud.
Fortunately, it was a thick glass, and he drank more than half of it, so he didn't spill it on himself.
Seamus gasped, unsure whether it was because of the name or because he had heard about Voldemort.
As for Neville, his face turned completely pale.
Of the five friends present, only Hermione and Harry were completely unafraid of the name.
Hermione didn't understand Voldemort enough, while Harry simply didn't think there was anything about Voldemort that he should be afraid of.
"How could this be!" Ron jumped to his feet, and his large movement drew the attention of everyone in the Great Hall.
He quickly sat down again, lowering his voice, and said, "Impossible. Hogwarts has Headmaster Dumbledore there, how could he dare?"
"What if Dumbledore isn't at school?" Hermione stared at Ron. "You know, the Headmaster isn't always at school. Once he School Opening, that's the perfect opportunity for Voldemort to make his move! We must remind Headmaster Dumbledore!"
"Don't worry, Hermione, Hagrid went to the Headmaster's Office last night to remind Professor Dumbledore," Harry replied absentmindedly.
He had only two things on his mind—first, to find the Philosopher's Stone, and second, to remove the curse from Pabbie's wound.
Since Harry had already said that, Hermione couldn't say anything more.
Yes, now that Headmaster Dumbledore knows the situation, he will certainly respond appropriately.
We can't expect us first-year students to protect the Philosopher's Stone, can we?
The Potions class was once again spent under Professor Snape's venom spray, and this time even Hermione was not spared, because she was preoccupied and accidentally added half an ounce of bat liver.
After Harry brewed a perfect potion of Swelling Solution, Snape grimaced and reluctantly added a point to Gryffindor's score.
Subsequently, five points were deducted from his score because Neville burned the pot dry.
The Gryffindor students were used to it, after all, it was the norm for Professor Snape to deduct points from Gryffindor.
Even so, it couldn't stop Slytherin from having the lowest House Cup score at the moment—because Slytherin had lost 150 House Points.
When class ended, Harry told Ron and the others to wait outside.
He had bought several bottles of the Blood Replenishing Potion in Diagon Alley, but to be honest, the Potions he bought outside were definitely not as effective as those brewed by Potions Master like Professor Snape.
If it were an ordinary person who needed this Potions, it would be one thing, but Pabbie was his old friend after all. He would rather be splashed with Snape's venom than not give his good friend the best Potions.
Snape, of course, noticed Harry who hadn't left yet. He smirked and said in a greasy tone, "Is there anything else, Potter? Does our great the Savior have some teenage problems he'd like to consult his poor old professor about?"
