Background

Bazett was originally a participant in the Fifth Holy Grail War and the Master of Cú Chulainn. She was betrayed by Kirei Kotomine, who ambushed her, took her Command Spells and Heroic Spirit, and left her to bleed to death after severing her left arm. In this version of events, she died before the corrupted Grail could preserve her life. 230 231 545

After death, a Grail Projection in Demon World Village drew in her resentful spirit and granted her a false life. Cheng Tian identified her condition and offered to become her Master through a Silver Side Quest. Desperate both to survive and avenge herself on Kirei, Bazett accepted the contract. 230 231

The contract bound her continued existence to Cheng Tian. It also required him to repeatedly clear Demon World Village and eventually enter a Fate/hollow ataraxia dungeon to kill Kirei Kotomine. Bazett could not be revived through an ordinary resurrection fee if killed during the quest. 231 232

Upon returning to the Fifth Holy Grail War setting, she revisited the church basement where she died and committed herself to ending Kirei’s life. After Cheng Tian annihilated Kirei’s soul, the quest’s completion transformed her from a false-life Heroic Spirit into a Perfect Incarnation with the power of Manannan mac Lir. 544 589 594
