Background and History
Yakumo is the daughter of Koji and Mai Kurama and the younger sister of Akira Kurama, also called Ming Jing. As a child, she was cared for by Mirai Kurama, whose healing skills helped manage her poor health 4 20 236. Her lessons included mathematics, painting, chakra practice, and illusion techniques taught by Kurenai Yuhi 139.
Akira brought Karin into the household in part to give Yakumo a companion. Yakumo later asked Karin to call her by name rather than “Miss,” describing how lonely home had felt while Akira was away 92 170. She also became close to Hinata Hyuga and befriended Shikouin after Shikouin helped retrieve her kite 20 170.
